All the figures are so appealing! Definitely picking these beat boxes up for the figures alone. Its funny I was actually thinking how good a pink genie would have been, and Lego releases this. The blue unicorn is so fun to look at, the ice cream head guy is exciting as well. All these figures are must haves, I love the bunny and llama.

Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
cosmic replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The Kings Castle by BrickHammer is so good I hope it becomes a set very similar to its submission. @povoq your build is so good! I’d buy that in an instant. a tad shame Lego releases little castle content these days, I’m starting to want some more castle content. I think Lego should release a new evergreen theme under a “fantasy” label. Castle, Pirates, and Elvish non license sets could be released this way. Sets with mermaids, dragons, elves, castles, fortresses, island fortresses and mythical creatures can all release under a general fantasy line and it can have a rotating center of focus. Some years classic castle, other years pirates and other years more whimsical sets. Just an idea, probably won’t happen. But this could get many sub themes that currently don’t receive any type content back on shelves.- 532 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
cosmic replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Unrelated to any Star Wars news for this year but i hope we get cinematic interpretations of Shaak Ti and Mon Mothma soon. Mon Mothma has not been seen since 2008 and Shaak Ti only has a clone wars variant as many Jedi such as Ki Adi Mundo and Bariss Offee have received cinematic releases in recent years. Not sure what set they’d squeeze Shaak Ti into, but also kinda wishing they’d release a Jedi Temple mega set one day. Whatever the sets being released in recent years haven’t really been appealing to me. I think Star Wars peaked in the 2013 Episode 2 wave, same time the Ewok Village was released. Rogue One had a solid wave and the Mos Eisley Cantina is perfect, but I haven’t seen a year stun me like 2013 did. -
Reviewing the images it looks like the mountain has many peg holes on the base to accommodate for add-ons. Regardless if Lego ever expands on the mountain I see this as an opportunity to test my MOCing abilities and maybe create a build to dense out the mountain and expand it as I see fit.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

This. You phrased my thoughts better than I could have. Its an opinion and I’m fine being outnumbered but it’s specifically because of how few comic sets we get and how many figures are missing comic variants over MCU variants. Also considering how many of their inclusions are characters which are still well represented in Lego sets. It’s how few we get and how easy it is to include their desired characters in sets. If Lego can revisit the Tim Burton Batman films and the Adam West Batman series I’m sure it would be easy for them to revisit an endgame set while the MCU is literally still producing content. on a different note I still want to take a moment and marvel at what the theme has accomplished thus far. I’m looking at my counter and I see mini figures of White Tiger, Nova, Captain Marvel, Groot, and Rescue. I’m just so impressed by what we’ve gotten so far I’m not angry at whatever Lego does so long as they keep up the quality. Really happy with my Lego Marvel collection I think this theme really lived up to the hype it instilled in me when it was first announced in 2012. And yes I will admit the MCU waves played a huge role in that (Infinity War and Far From Home were some of the best waves ever). -
The Flower Mountain is perfect!! I love this set so much. I love the facade, I love the figures, I love the colors. Its so good. Huge fan of this set I haven’t smiled at. a Lego leak that hard since Ninjago Gardens (which was admittedly very recent haha). I’m torn on the Spider Queen base because its good, but is it good enough to buy? I want it, but how likely am I to pick it up, I’m a little torn on that one. Actually love the Lion it looks like a Chinese New Year Dragon and the design is super fun to stare at. The little blue building is peaking my eye as well. This wave is not bad, I may not be looking to buy the two jets but they’re not bad by any means. I’d say this wave is on par with the first and really maintains the quality of the brand. The second wave is where it dipped but I’m hoping they expand on this theme for at least another year because it has been very fun and refreshing in terms of both builds and figures. Also happy to see Lego reach out to the huge consumer market in China and cater to that demographic. I like seeing Lego take initiatives like this and I’m very satisfied with how it turned out.

LEGO Ninjago 2021
cosmic replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Having seen Jangbricks review of the City Gardens all I can say is wow. I was shocked to see how much detail they included. In some ways I feel silly for not having zoomed in on initial photos but even still it seems like the set is jam packed with details from all angles and there’s a good amount of surprises incorporated. I saw someone on social media campaign to Lego for re-releasing the Ninjago City set from 2017 to coincide with this set and honestly hoping it ends up working somehow. Unlikely but I am a huge fan that set and never managed to get it (surprised its shelf life was 3 years, could have easily imagined it would still be acquirable by now but oh well) and would love to see it available on the market again. Of course all this knowing how unlikely that is to happen. I think this is my favorite of the 3 additions to Ninjago City. I really like what they’ve done, it’s small and huge at the same time and it’s probably the most detailed set I’ve seen in a while. I love the newer trends of Lego referencing older themes and concepts in their newer builds. If anything I hope they do more with the Ninjago City line and make it kind of like a modular sub-theme of Ninjago overall. -
I’m still going to comment on it. Buddy if I want to vocalize disappointment I will. You’re not a mod and you’re constant attempts to be rude over comments you dislike is annoying and I’m more than happy to settle this by other means or through PM but if you got a problem your better off going to me about it over these passive aggressive comments. I’ll comment what I want and if a new piece of news drops (a new Batman D2C in the summer) that is equally disappointing as the other news for this theme I will express my disappointment as I see fit.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Or maybe the lists I keep seeing don’t interest me and I think the newer molds and vibrant colors of the comics would translate better. Ronin I still believe can be released in a set along with fat suit Thor and while you may be correct that others are excited for newer Iron Man variants I am unfortunately a bit too stubborn to be quiet on the fact that I see comics Gamora, Squirrel Girl, or a Marvel Now Wasp as more desirable than a new Iron Man suit, of which we have many. You’re correct, I failed to consider the demand newer Iron Man variants have. But again, these lists don’t excite me and maybe I should rephrase it to be, no missing MCU suits that I think are worthy of taking up a minifig slot. I’m okay with an endgame set covering some of these missing suits, but I think this series should be an opportunity to give us comic variants of Ant-Man and the Wasp (both of which have at least 3 variants I’d like to see them in. Over MCU figures which can feasibly be released in sets and which cover characters who are already heavily represented in Lego. Also I’ll comment what I want if I feel it expresses my thoughts correctly. Those previous comments were on a speculation nothing was missing and this one came after checking a list. It’s fine if others disagree thats cool, but I still think the comic designs are far more desirable than whatever is missing from the movies. And those figures could still be released considering how popular the MCU and how likely we are to get sets for it for years to come. As opposed to the few comic waves we get which are sparse and mostly cover Spiderman. I think this series would be most useful for the theme overall if the roster of heroes covered covered heroes we are unlikely to see in sets. All those figures are 1. Boring to me (and I’m okay with being in the minority there) 2. Easy to include in sets (I see that as objective). I’ll hold back on this sentiment for now and will continue to comment as more news is released, but I needed to clarify that I don’t need to be in the majority to express an opinion and the reason I re-expressed this sentiment bc I specifically engaged in a new behavior to try and see if I would change my mind. -
How incredibly disappointing that we are getting another oversized Bat- vehicle. I am the only DC fan that wants a Hall of Justice or a Titans Tower or a WatchTower or a Hall of Doom? You mean to tell me the vast majority of fans would prefer an oversized vehicle based on a film that was released ages ago over a large playset with tons of new figures? How am I the only person disappointed in this theme! This theme has gone to the bricked holy cow this theme is sooooooo bad. Its so unbelievably bad all we get is vehicles that aren’t to scale and 1 new figure a year, a figure with no leg printing at that!! AAFGHHHH i want to scream holy cow this theme is so bad I couldn’t imagine agreeing even a little with the direction Lego has taken this theme in. People keep saying “well vehicles sell”, but Ninjgo and Star Wars get structures for builds all the time literally no DC fan but me would want a large playset? With 17 new figures like Ninjago does? You mean to tell me a large Batmobile thats out of scale based on a movie from the 80’s with 1 (not even 2) new figures is more desirable than a large playset with tons of leaguers? Literally why the heck I’m not sure if I should scream at Lego or the kids who consume the crap they pump out. I hate this theme! And I hate that I had the most enthusiasm for this theme than any other theme that was announced in my lifetime. Ahhhh I’m so angry come on this is my favorite License why must i be handled so poorly. rant over I really wish Lego did something new with this theme.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Really digging the idea that Korg comes in. Shang-Chi set, it makes sense based off of rumors of that film. These discussions of “will it be an oversized Milano, an oversized Infinity Gauntlet, or another oversize HulkBuster, is exactly why I want a comics based D2C. The options are limitless and quite frankly I struggle to see any type of appeal in oversized vehicles or builds that serve no practical purpose. I guess we could get a D2C of Asgard, the Avengers compound for the final End-Game battle, or a proper Stark Tower (seriously how was the last Avengers Tower $100, it was on par in size with the $50 Daily Bugle). But aside from that there are no MCU builds that intrigue me and I really want a large playset with many figures. Star Wars and Ninjago get D2C’s of large structures with many figures all the time, its about time we break the cycle of SuperHero D2C’s that include very little figures and also don’t have any play value to them. Also not to be annoying but I reviewed a character list of MCU heroes and yeah I am praying this CMF series is comic based bc we are missing literally zero interesting costumes for major heroes in the MCU besides fat Thor, and battle damaged Cap and I am so okay with them releasing an end game set to cover those but good lord all the interesting suits for major heroes we are missing are comic based and I pray Lego recognizes that. -

So much news yet so little at the same time. The mold is a bit too large for me it seems to go on to a mini figure body I was hoping it’d be used on a big figure. And the proportions for the head aren’t doing it for me. It reminds me of the new Ghost Rider figure in the sense that it captures the essence of the character while still looking off and I disagree with the design choice overall. Whatever I don’t really care for the character in general. Is it possible the Thor movie being pushed back led this figure to leak when its supposed to be part of a wave that was pushed back? If the new Thor movie was pushed back a year maybe this is a production leak for a figure that is also no longer on this years release schedule. Kinda hoping this doesn’t release in one of those mystery avengers sets cause that would mean its MCU based and not comic based, and all I really want are comic designs of my favorite heroes. -
Not related to any rumors but I wanted to comment on something. The Disney Princess Theme has started to receive new types of sets with tiny versions of mini dolls. Almost like microdolls. They come in these pop up story book sets. Anyhow, the small shapes of the bodies, the silhouettes of the dresses and the oval shaped faces make these micro minidolls perfect representations of the Guardians of the Universe from the Lantern mythos. Should we ever get Green Lantern sets their bodies are perfect matches. kind of disappointed that the $200 set is for Batman but also not surprised. I’m slightly optimistic if its a new Arkham but we’ll probably get no new characters. The newer renditions of pre existing figures will most likely lack detail. I’m preparing for it to be another oversized bat vehicle. The only ways a large Batman set can really excite me is if its the fairgrounds for Joker (more detailed and bulkier structures compared to the 2015 set with Starfire and Beast Boy, a large Penguin Lounge with an ice rink and all, or a Wayne Manor with new figures like Anarchy or Lady Shiva. Fingers crossed characters who desperately need leg printing receive it (looking at you Batgirl and Batwoman), we get more than just 1 new fig, and its not some giant vehicle that doesn’t even exist in cannon. That’s all this theme is anymore, oversized vehicles with a repetitive character roster and poor quality of print.

@jonwil then Pokemon is still on the table bc, although Mega Construx has the license, Pokemon isn’t owned by the company that produces that. So Pokemon can always switch its brick building merchandise. And yes Bat-Vehickes sell but I strongly believe there is a strong demand for Lego to branch out and their DC sets would probably sell better if they increased the volume of new figures released a bit.

I hope they take this as an opportunity to give us some new comic variants. Last years Helicarrier, Hulkbuster, and winter wave sets will still be on shelves this summer, so kids will still have access to comic variants of rescue, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Falcon, Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man. I hope we can see Ant-Man, Wasp, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and Vision in these sets. I’m actually really digging the newer designs for these characters and wouldn’t mind seeing those over the classics (who I think would be good for the mini figure series). Marvel Now’s design for Ant-Man and the Wasp are just everything. We will have a wide array of characters on shelves by this summer so I hope they take this as more incentive to just give us some new. also really hope its for the comics and not revisiting old movies. They can do that but please let this specific wave be for comics, the prices are so appealing. -

Is this insinuating that they may still be MCU/Disney Plus sets? Not mad at that just wondering. A comic avengers wave sounded too good to be true. -

Awesome! I hope it goes to the comics bc Square Enix sets, as good as they were, came out of nowhere and were fine for the one wave they lasted. I hope we get comic versions of Scarlet, Vision, Thor, and SpiderWoman. Really excited for this wave now!! A comic Avengers wave is so bricking exciting, literally so pumped to see what they throw our way. unpopular opinion but I loved last years Helicarrier and Hulkbuster builds and have high hopes for what comes our way this summer. -

I saw on exabrickslegogo instagram page thag we’re getting 6 Avengers sets this summer. Below that he has a Marvel/Disney + set for $35. Can we expect all these sets to be Disney + related? The sets numbers are 76186, 76189, 76190, 76191, 76192, 76193. -

Well then the version of him we got in 2013 remains exclusive. My point is a set with little to no repetitive figures, a structure and a vehicle for $50 should be the norm. I don’t want to pay 60-70 for an oversized vehicle and a set with figures I already have. And finally I hope we get comic versions of Scarlet Witch and Vision soon. Also hope Lego releases some comic sets this upcoming wave. I want a Black Cat!! -

Not so excited about the 4+, advent calendars , or mech sets. All I want is normal comic based Marvel sets that aren’t for Spiderman. Idk if that will ever happen but it seems all the good sets go to the MCU. Like I don’t even collect MCU sets and I think the Far From Home sets and the Eternals sets are the better waves to be released these past few years. when the daily bugle released I saw that as a gold standard for Marvel sets. 4 new figures (all of which remain exclusive to this day) a location and a vehicle for $50. It was perfect, now we get charged an arm and a leg for a spidey vehicle and figures we already have multiples of. I want them to go back to that standard of multiple new figures in a wave and builds that focus in more than just a spider vehicle. Actually been collecting Lego since I was a kid and even at age 10 I remember clearly preferring Lego structures and not liking repetitive builds. I think this idea that only AFOL’s want structures and new figures is ridiculous. A 7 year old kid was still 6 when the first Spidergwen figure was released, so they would still be old enough to own every figure released in the monster truck set. I think Lego underestimates the demand for new comic designs. Why couldn’t black cat be the new female figure in that set? Why couldn’t Venom had been swapped for Lizard or Kingpen or Shocker in any of the many sets that had venom as a primary antagonist in recent years? Whatever I’m just repeating what I always say but I’d like comic versions of Ant-Man, Wasp, Vision, Scarlet Witch and the Punisher but it seems so out of reach when they can barely branch out of the same Spider characters. and on that note I’d hate to see Elektra, Cloak, Dagger, Punisher, or comic Electro in the mini figure series bc they could so easily be included in a set. Same goes to the comic incarnations of Scarlet Witch and Vision, they belong in sets not a CMF series. Comic version of Malekith, Hela, Thors entourage, Quicksilver, and some X-Men make sense bc they are hard to include in a set. They would also balance out what would provably be alternate versions of the Avengers which I assume will take up half the series. I want so much out of this theme I hope Lego picks up the slack they’ve been having for the past few waves. -
Not to be that guy but Chima is not a Licensed theme. However I would love for it to come back assuming they give up the fire and ice theme. I honestly think the builds went to s*** after that happened. If they invested in new molds for the beavers as opposed to reusing the Yeti mold, and gave us more locations and diversified the costumes and settings these anthropomorphic animals engaged in the theme could really keep itself moving. But the constant focus on fire and ice and useless vehicles made the theme unappealing as opposed to the spiders and rhinos and lion castles of the first few waves. I wouldn’t mind seeing the theme get a second go if they really took new concepts and didn’t spend 2-3 waves on a particular idea. Yeah I could see Lego making brick builds for larger Pokémon like Salamence, Charizard and Gyrados. Pokemarts, gyms, indigo plateau and other Elite 4 plateus can all be sets. Plus team galactic, team plasma, team rocket all have lairs castles and vehicles associated with them. Whether its a battle between a player and an evil team, a gym battle, a town setting or a large pokemon there are an endless amount of sets they can produce. This theme has so much potential and if it sells as good as Star Wars and Superheroes (I feel it could) there’s enough material to last for years. There’s really no excuse for Lego to do what they did with superheroes and make sets disconnected from the source material (spider jets, copters and bikes) when the actual source material is endless. But then again Superheroes has an endless supply of locations and vehicles to support sets and somehow Lego still manages to make content completely unrelated to the theme, so in many ways we can’t underestimate Lego’s ability to brick up (excuse my language). But assuming Lego does what fans want this theme has so much potential. on that note Lego if you’re reading this, stop acquiring Licenses just to produce absolutely everything but what fans want from that License. I promise we want a Titans Tower more than we want a bat vehicle, crazy as it may seem.
-
Noooo I need it to be minifigure system scale. I want minifigures of Ash Ketchum, Dawn, Nurse Joy, Team Rocket etc. i would prefer they choose the game designs fro video games and buildings bc the anime can sometimes be underwhelming in its depiction of in game locations. I also think with the nature of gyms and team rocket vehicles it would be super easy to incorporate play features. Not so sure I enjoy the idea of the builds being oversized like Mario.
-
And considering we have 8 generations, there are 8 elite four builds to make (I’d prefer game designs the anime really simplifies a lot of context), 8 generations of gyms, who knows how many large Pokémon could make up a set and various builds affiliated with Team Rocket and other nefarious organizations. We could get hideouts, lairs, ships, large Pokémon, pokemarts, gyms, you name it. I also feel like Lego Pokemon would have a very large market and call me a dreamer but I see it as a theme that could carry on for years, maybe even an Evergreen theme.
-
Pokemon! Again a competitor has the license and Lego has rejected the idea before. But if Pokemon was adapted in Lego I would eat that theme up. Lego gyms, elite 4 bases, pokemarts and nurseries, new molds for different Pokémon as well as brick builds for the larger Pokémon. Between the gyms and the elite four and the larger pokemon builds there’s so many sets to make. Factor in the different characters from the anime and games and all of a sudden you have an abundance of ways to switch up the builds for the theme. It has so much to offer in terms of both figures and builds.
