  1. Interested in this as well. From the looks of it we will not be receiving any normal sets this year. Just the cowl, the Juniors set and the mini figure pack. I was told we have some hope for sets down the line but tbh its looking bleak and I wouldn’t be surprised if Lego canceled this theme. I mean at this point we would have heard rumblings of an actual wave, no?
  2. Not 2021 related but I felt I wanted to reflect on some amazing sets released through the course of this theme. Comic related as of course thats what intrigues me. Looking back at some of my sets and figures from this theme I am incredibly impressed by what Lego Marvel has released over the years. The Daily Bugle is one of the best sets ever. The figure variety is amazing and the build was impressive to say the least. And very reasonably priced. The Ghost Rider set is the best with Hobgoblin and his glider looking perfect and the flaming motorcycle looks equally awe inspiring. The Doc Oc Attack with White Tiger is one of my favorite sets in a while and I really enjoy both the figures and the build included. Lego has done a really good job with both the comic and MCU sets over the years and besides fumbling the ball with the Spiderman sets of the past few years, Lego has really done wonders for this theme.
  3. Is it possible Lego will bring back a License that is currently not in production, or is it understood to be a License which is currently receiving sets? according to Lego shop at home, we are currently receiving sets for the following Licenses (not counting DC/Disney/HP that received CMF series) •Overwatch (probably not) • Super Mario (maybe honestly) • Minecraft (why?? Would they??) • Star Wars (hopefully not) • Stranger Things (probably not) • Minions (definitely not) • Marvel (probably) I’d say of these themes Marvel and Mario are the most obvious. If they were to bring a License back for CMF series I pray its Adventure Time. As for what we’re currently receiving sets for I think its neck and neck between Marvel and Super Mario. The thing with Super Mario is we don’t get normal figs for the sets so it makes sense to release the figures through a CMF series. Assuming they choose to maintain the size dynamics of the Mario theme and they are only using Licenses currently in production I feel confident saying its definitely Marvel bc who would buy Minions? I don’t think Overwatch has the market for a CMF series, Star Wars probably has licensing issues and also has released most if its heavy hitters as figures over the years through sets, Minecraft/Stranger Things is very weird to see as CMF series. So unless they bring back adventure time or do Mario out of the blue (a possibility I’d be okay with, I’d love Peach/Daisy/Waluigi figures), its definitely Marvel. Unless of course they bring back Spongebob...
  4. Not to be annoying but Lego is releasing an anthropomorphic Llama guy and a Candy Mermaid in the vidiyo line so I will resume asking for outlandish figures here because obviously there’s some sort of market for them
  5. Not to be rude but this seems ridiculous to me. Look at the Far From Home, Infinity War, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 sets. The MCU figures have been very colorful and wouldn’t look out of place next to a comic book figure. As a matter of fact Marvel Superheroes 2 (Video Game) cover had both comic and MCU figures on board and they looked just fine next to each other. To appease both fans I can imagine we’ll have some mix and its not like the MCU designs are super different or foreign next to comic designs. I think its the smartest business decision to appeal to both. The DC wave was all comic but thats because the DCCU is.. yuno. I’m assuming with Marvel we will have both. Might actually let Spiderman 3 be the first MCU wave I collect in a while. Imagine a set with Toby, Andrew and Tom’s versions of Peter/Spiderman. Hopefully they don’t scatter the figs across the wave. And I get how great the MCU is that the fans want an entire series dedicated to it, but you guys don’t want comic versions of Scarlet Witch, The Vision, and Moon Knight? Thats weird
  6. Literally how did the Spider Copter outsell the X-Jet?!? The set is very reminiscent of the cover of All New All Different X-Men #98. Aside from wishing Storm had a new mold I thought her inclusion in the set was the best thing to happen in 2014. She-Hulk and Spider Ham had similar impacts on me but good lord was I ecstatic to get a Lego Storm figure. personally praying we do get this Marvel CMF because if the only sets left for this year are Shang Chi I won’t buy any 2021 Lego Marvel. Maybe this D2C but Superhero D2C’s are always easy passes. The Helicarrier was to micro scale, the Hulkbuster, Iron Man Head, and Batman vehicles are all undesirable sets for me. When Lego releases large play-sets like Cloud City or Ewok Village from Star Wars with a lot of figures and a fairly accurate design, I’ll be interested. All these oversized vehicles and non minifigure scale sets with 1-3 figures are the easiest passes. I have a strong hunch no matter what this D2C is i won’t be interested. Can’t imagine I’m the only one wanting something else from the Superhero D2C’s. More figures, play-sets to scale or iconic locations.
  7. Half the DC series was new versions of preexisting figures and the other half was new characters. I’d hope for a Marvel series they would; 1) Invest in a bigger series - Marvel sets sell better so we have a better shot at a Series close to the Size of Disney Series 2 or Harry Potter Series 1 2) Have a greater proportion of new characters compared to the DC wave Call me crazy but I see no reason why figures like this couldn’t be introduced in sets. The Rebirth Superman felt out of place because he could have easily been inserted in a set, same with the Huntress figure. Hopefully Marvel uses this as an opportunity to give us figures they couldn’t conveniently put in sets. Moon Knight less so than the others Didn’t Fox and Disney work a deal or something in these past 5 years? So much has happened I forgot but maybe we can even see some X Men, who knows.
  8. I think it would be split the way the first Harry Potter series had figures from Fantastic Beasts and the original HP films. The question is the proportions used. I personally think it should be half and half, but maybe the majority of the figures will be MCU based. We’ll see but most likely it’ll have elements of both. If by MOC ideas you mean original set ideas we should have a Superhero wishlist thread. I’m not sure if we have separate threads for DC and Marvel (we might), that’d be a waste though because we should just have one thread for wishlists but if you mean a thread for your original licensed Ideas sets (as in Lego ideas/10,000 votes) we have one too. on that note can some MCU fans make a cmf series in the Marvel wishlist thread so I can get an idea what major figures are still missing from the MCU? From my point of view the comic book designs are whats really missing. Decades and decades of different costumes for so many characters, I legit can’t think of many MCU figures I need.
  9. Had to delete this idea because I accidentally posted it in the DC thread thinking I was here. Basically in the CMF series 21 thread, someone commented thar this years Licensed mini figure series is going to a property that has not yet had a CMF series. The source for this was a former member known as Itaria who I believe may have been credible? I wasn’t around during his tenure. But if this rumor is true I suspect the biggest and most obvious theme to be Marvel. First, rumors have circulated that Marvel was getting a CMF series this year to begin with, and while originally unfounded and ridiculous, if this claim that the next licensed series is going to a property that has never received it, Marvel is the obvious choice. Sesame Street and Overwatch are the only options, I don’t know Lego to introduce a new licensed theme through a CMF series, so it makes sense for it to be a License already in production. I pray that its Marvel, that would be the absolute best thing ever. and lastly, if Marvel does get its own series it needs to have 16 figures minimum. Reducing the series to 12 figures makes sense because lego is running out of ideas for their non licensed series. But if Marvel gets a wave it should have ideally 22, like the first Harry Potter wave.
  10. Which, is again all DC’s fault. Their cinematic universe sucks, and with their animated movies declining in quality they’re doing themselves no favors by producing immature cartoons aimed at kids age 4-6. They’re simply not doing a good job enticing younger generations to their lore and so Batman remains the only character kids could even hope to be interested in. Because the depictions of heroes in modern DC cinema, TV, and Animation is not as mature or well produced or funny or exciting as Marvels content. As a kid DC was on top of their animated shows and movies, the Arkham series was new to video games and their cinematic movies were jot part of a continuous universe and the Christopher Nolan films were performing well. About a decade later pretty much all of DC’s content has gone to the bricker (thats a curse word now). i wonder how hard it would be for me to major in animation and book a job at DC and become this generations Bruce Timm and save their animated universe and bring DC back to its glory.
  11. Thats crazy to me. The 2015 Justice League wave was the best in my eyes. Do we know which waves have sold the best? Not counting TLBM but do we know which particular year or wave sold best? Logistically it makes sense to produce what sells. Its such a shame kids don’t want Justice League sets. But with DC having no serious cartoons on TV right now (Teen titans Go and DC superhero girls are aimed at a super young audience) they are letting an entire generation of kids grow up removed from their content. The DC animated universe was vast as a kid so I was immersed in DC lore at a young age. Of course kids won’t care for DC heroes when they have no good cartoons to get them hooked on it. Not to mention the quality of the animated movies has gone down as well in recent years. I’ll say this, if they have to stick to Batman they should at least add a greater volume of leaguers in his sets, or just give us new characters. To say we’ve gotten all we need from Batman is still not true. Black Mask, Lucious Fox, Batwing, Ventriloquist and Scarface, Baby Doll, Joker Gang, Batman Beyond, Atomic Skull, Spoiler, Anarchy. If we’re doomed to just Batman sets they could at least give us a more impressive roster. My disappointment in this theme goes beyond just the focus on Batman. The lack of leg printing on characters who really need it, the recycling of the same hairpiece for every female character as opposed to borrowing elements from friends or producing new colors for slept on hair pieces or even producing new hair pieces. The repetitive figure selection, its all a let down. Tl;dr DC is to blame for Justice League sets selling poorly because of their poor job advertising their content. Lego still has room to improve making Batman sets. I’m upset either way.
  12. My assumption is Lego puts out little content for this line because it sells terribly. I’m not sure what the official numbers are but this is probably a very poorly selling theme. But it causes a cycle, the sets sell poorly so they focus on only Batman because he has name brand recognition. After a few waves fans got all the Batman content they need, newer Batman sets feel less appealing to fans and so they sell poorly. And the cycle continues where the theme sells poorly because the sets have little effort put into them and the sets have little effort put into them because the theme sells poorly. Please Lego just cancel this theme. Give the license to a competitor who’s not afraid to delve into DC’s mythos. No Teen Titans sets, no comic Justice League sets, no Metal Men sets, hell this year we practically are getting no sets at all. Each year its the same roster of figures and one new figure max. The theme is dragging itself if they don’t want to produce quality content just cut it off. I am so annoyed going to the Lego shop and seeing e but Bat-vehicles and the same roster of figures every year. If there’s no hope Lego will fix this theme for the love of god just end it already. Please Lego pick a card, make it better or make it stop. This theme pisses me off.
  13. Yeah I figure they’ll include both MCU and comic designs for the series. But that said, I feel the MCU fans get the best sets and waves. Infinity War, Gotg 1+2c, Thor Ragnorok, and Black Panther sets seemed to have covered their movies source material fairly well. Considering we rarely get comic sets I’d much prefer they focus on that more. But I’m so sure they’ll have something for everyone. But besides cloaked red skull, Peggy Carter, Baron Zemo and some named characters in the Thor and Iron Man movies I don’t see many MCU characters missing. I’d rather they release mini figure packs (like the one with Falcon this year) or bricktober packs to fill those gaps but whatever.
  14. Edit: wrong thread.
  15. Sounds like Marvel to me! I can only hope. i read someone comment on the Ninjago thread that Vidiyo should have its own thread but I can’t find one in the Special Lego forum or the Action and Adventure so I will post my thoughts here. If a mod chooses to redirect me to the correct thread that is ok. this new llama head is perfect! Exactly w I was asking for. People in animal suits gets tiring, seeing an actual Llama person mini figure after being told my ideas for anthropomorphic animals was a bit far fetched, this feels good. Super excited to see what else we get with this theme. Hopefully more anthropomorphic animals with exciting new head molds.
  16. What series? I can only remember the Alien villainess from Series 8. When did we get a queen? BAM stands for Build A Mini figure. I’m not sure if its online but in physical Lego stores they have tubs of torsos, legs, heads, and hair pieces, all separate of course. Costumers can pick a torso, head, hair, and leg piece to build their unique minifigure. Some torsos and leg pieces from CMF series have become available through these tubs. Lego basically officially released them, you just have to piece together the correct combination and some CMF figures should be recreated through that means. I also suggest checking bricklink for previous CMF figures. The prices are generally nothing crazy and there are a lot of good and reliable sellers if you do your research on them. You can filter for new and sealed, and sellers who sell like that are typically very good feelers (I don’t sell but I have had a perfectly accurate history of feeling a pack and knowing the figure inside). But that could be a risk. Some sellers sell new and opened, but they typically only slit the top of the bag to verify the figure but don’t touch it beyond that.
  17. My understanding is there is still some hope for a potential summer wave? I swear we need something more or else this would be the absolute worst year for the theme. A mini figure pack, the Batman cowl, a Juniors set, its like they’ll release everything but a normal set. And judging off the sets they’ve released thus far a normal set would just be another pointless bat vehicle with no new figures. And if there is a new figure they will have no detailed printing. Whatever. I hope they pick up the slack for this theme or just cancel it. I’d rather Lego just not make DC sets at all instead of crappy Batman sets and years with no normal sets. This theme is such a disappointment literally what Lego designer looks at this theme and goes “yup thats what fans want”. If they think DC doesn’t sell then just cancel it instead of making these low quality sets bc you think costumers are barely interested. I’m predicting this comment won’t be too popular because calls to just drop a theme sound kind of radical but thats how I feel. I’d rather have gotten nothing over this. Like this theme is just dragging itself at this point. Either make it better or let it go. That’s my opinion
  18. Ninjago Gardens is a dream come true. Do we know yet if it will be able to connect to the Ninjago city and Ninjago docks set? The detail, the height, the colors and the entire facade is just mesmerizing to look at. I regret to say I missed out on the Airjitzu Temple and the first 2 Ninjago city sets but I will not miss out on this gem. And in due time I will make it a goal of mine to collect those older sets I missed out on regardless of how high those prices may become. Aside from that I’m not too excited about this years jungle subtheme.
  19. Thanks for the correction, dude. Well thats actually better than expected because the Canadian prices didn’t seem too bad to begin with, so seeing they’ll be cheaper in the US is actually impressive.
  20. @n1majneb not a moderator but I think your post would belong to Licensed Lego Photography thread. Just a suggestion for the love of god do not take this as mini moderating. Not trying to harp on this too much considering my biggest sentiment when I first joined the forum was how badly I wanted DC to branch out of Batman sets and I don’t want to sound like a broken record. Regardless I am happy to see other people sharing this thought. Since the start of the century we’ve gotten 2 Teen Titans cartoons, a Young Justice cartoon, a live action Titans series and a few animated movie appearances. Can we get a wave of Teen Titans sets as well? I think they’d sell better than another Batman wave with only 1 new figure that probably won’t have any detailed printing ??‍♂️
  21. Not to be rude but this seems silly considering the leaked catalogue pictures have prices listed next to them. Unless I’m confused there’s no need to estimate US retail prices. The largest set,Rise of the Domo is listed as $120, in Arishems Shadow is listed as $79.99, Deviant Ambush is $29.99 and the Eternal Aerial assault is listed as $13.99 These sets are great for MCU fans and once again I will pass but can acknowledge the quality of the builds being put forward. The celestial looks appropriately huge and the big ship looks reminiscent of something out of a doctor strange film. Magical and science fiction at the same time. This mystery D2C is all I’m really thinking about at this point. I hope it doesn’t let me down.
  22. Hello all general question. I am currently trying to replicate the wings from 76167 for rescue. When going through rescue’s inventory I notice her body is described as red while the color swaps I made for Iron Mans wings in Bright Red seem to match her print. What color would you guys describe rescues suit as? i’m currently trying to find piece 6177507 in the correct color for rescue and despite her being described as red I think the bright red would work well for her. Thoughts on her technical color?
  23. I’m having trouble identifying the splash page from my phone. How do I view a stores terms for shipping on a mobile device. I agree I went domestic because I assume oversea shipping fees would be much higher and I literally just need a handful of hair pieces.
  24. Cautiously excited about the D2C. Is there any difference between a D2C and. USC set? Its probably gonna be an MCU set so I’ll probably pass but it’d be amazing if we got a large set based on a comic location. Avengers Mansion, Avengers Tower (at a high price with tons of pieces could be amazing/master builds), Baxter Building, X-Mansion, or a giant brick built Galactus. also dislike the trend of making sets with few figure. Like the 80’s Batmobile and Batwing both had 3 figured each. It may have been DC but for any large D2C set I would hope we’d get a lot of figures. If its an MCU set I hope it covers whatever itch Lego MCU fans have to scratch so we can put the MCU to rest for Marvel D2C’s. Or it’d be nice to have more frequent sets like this for Marvel so we can eventually start getting comic inspired builds. What else do MCU fans feel they are missing in Lego? Personally as someone who loves the MCU but doesn’t want MCU figures, if I did I’d say Asgard and the final fight sequence from Endgame are the only things really missing. Maybe the big ring from Infinity War or Tony’s Mansion but really I think the MCU sets for each film have usually grasped the spirit of the movie enough. What more do you guys want? Even then, I would love an Asgard set, I’d prefer it be comic based. The remainder of sets listed for the year will go to MCU sets, surely? Like past the terrible winter Spiderman wave will the rest of this years sets go to the films being released?
  25. Completely agree with @tafkatb, saw Wonder Woman 1984 yesterday and the set was very accurate to one of the biggest scenes in the movie. Very well designed and the figures are amazing too. I agree Maxwell Lord could have had a unique face but this will make do. Overall after watching the movie I want this set. Even if I usually collect comic sets, the location is super versatile and it wouldn’t hurt to add more Wonder Woman variants to my collection.
