  1. So what exactly is affecting the cost? I understand very little in the way of economics is it inflation or global economics or what? Why is it that it feels we lay more for less parts? For example the new avengers tower (juniors) is $60 and I feel very comfortable saying thats overpriced compared to the size of a $60 set from 2011. How much truth is there to the statement that Lego is charging more for less pieces? Am I making this up in my head? The new Iron Man hall of armor addition is $40 for example and I feel like I remember a time where a set that small would be no more than $25. Whats making Lego charge more for less and is that even an accurate statement? Am I the only one who feels like we get less pieces in Lego sets? Forgive me if this came across as dumb i just really want to know why I’m making the observation that I’m paying more for smaller sets
  2. As someone who is deeply dissatisfied with the state of this theme, both in the amount of sets it receives and the quality of sets it receives, I want to start this comment by saying Lego doesn’t have to do much to improve the quality of this theme. Much more can be done with it and they have practically endless source material to choose from. I wish someone well versed in comics could pitch some interesting structures and new vehicles for the Lego group to use, or to even take a break from all the vehicles. Lego could do a lot to diversify these sets but whatever here goes. oh and if Lego could put more parts in sets that’d be great because sometimes sets look empty and small scaled for expensive prices and it makes actual large sets from this theme feel out of reach. Boy I hate the cost of lego sets for the amount of bricks you get these days. It feels like you get less. Mock wave 1 $10 Plastic Man Plane Plane build more intricate and possible larger than the one shown in Lego Batman 3 Beyond Gotham. Small motorcycle build for Deadshot. 2 mini figures Deadshot (with a new slim helmet mold that has an inverted lower shape to be reused for Deathstroke and leg printing) and Plastic Man (with the Series 6 Daredevils hair his classic speedo and goofy facial expressions. Maybe even a seperate torso with Kamala arms and tall toy story legs for variance. Printed tile of Plastic Man pizza to reference Justice League Action $20 Starro Takedown Bioncle Inspired build for Starro, a giant Starfish connected with the same joints used in the Hero Factory and newer Bionicle builds. Perhaps some new pieces for him but I think a smart designer could make do with existing parts in that construction theme of lego. 3 mini figures - Superman, Kyle Rayner Green Lantern and Mr Terrific with his orbs standing on clear pegs orbiting his figure $30 Clown Car Crash Ice Cream truck build similar to the Lego movie set. The ice cream cone can shoot studs. Black and red and green color scheme for the gothic clown car build which admittedly would closely mirror the ice cream truck build of the lego movie. 3 figures - Batwing Joker goon with exo force hair and a clawed hand inspired by the Arkham Games with a clown mask on and chained pants. Harley Quinn with the pigtail piece used on the minidoll space girl hero from TLM2. The one with the pink skin and blue hair forgot her name. Also her 2 hyenas with new molds for a hyena with functioning mouths like the hobbit wargs. Teen Titans Sets $50 Titans spaceship build inspired by the red ship seen in the Teen Titans cartoon set 5 figures Starfire with poofy red hair piece and her comic outfits, Terra with the short minidoll hair piece, Red Robin with leg printing, Dr Light with new head piece and Brother Blood $80 Trigon Takeover Trigon built towering and large. Similiar to the monkey kid mech but bulkier and not a mech. New head piece and very bulky tall build. Decent size shrine with small walkway leading up to it. portal build with vortex that can be put in the shrine or built into the shrine. 7 figures - white suit raven, sports master, Chesire, minifigure sized Trigon, Beast Boy, Nightwing, Donna Troy. Elephant and Pterodactyl molds for beast boy.
  3. Oh not a bad take at all. I wasn’t a kid a million years ago, I actually vividly remember a lot and not only did I hate being underestimated by adults but I held highly critical views on a lot and would have wanted more out of this theme no matter my age.
  4. Hmm. This wave sucks. I don’t see the appeal to these mechs at all and the sets themselves are very disappointing. Comparing themes, if you collected star wars over a long period of time, you would have plenty of structures and vehicles and mini figure variants that your collection would probably look very diverse in its builds. But when I reflect on this theme it seems pointless vehicles and repetitive figures is all you get. I feel like this has to somehow be hurting the themes sales? Like if I was a kid and I already had all these figures I would see no incentive to ask for these sets. The spider base looks like a 4+ set and that note the entire wave does. I notice that kids cartoons are annoyingly childish and immature and seeing how simple Lego structures are becoming I sometimes wonder if companies are deliberately working to making kids dumber or if they simply assume kids are idiots with no standards. Cause honestly I’m confident that even child me would hate this wave. Even as a kid i wanted structures and bases and buildings to create a world for my figures that felt real. I would have loved an X Mansion and I actually would have loved more obscure characters. Idea, when lego has another wave where no movie is being released and they can focus on original play sets they really should give us a comic based guardians wave. With a comic variant for pre existing characters. Not only are audiences already familiar with then but it could give the company some room to get creative with their builds. Even if kids do not recognize the exact source material for a build, if its well built they’ll enjoy it. I’m still saddened that X Men and Fantastic Four are absent my god when we finally get them I will go crazy!! Ahh it wouldn’t take much to get me excited about this theme I’m so tired of what its become and it sucks to see its wasted potential. Especially when Harry Potter and Overwatch show us consistently that the Lego group “still has it” in terms of product value. But then superheroes is just the simplest and most repetitive line when I personally think Marvel and DC had and still have the potential to be the absolute best themes in the companies history. It’s a shame their not giving either theme its potential and if any Lego designer is reading this please give us comic variants of pre existing cinematic characters and new characters with leg printing and when required dual molded legs and back printing and arm printing and side leg printing and dual sided heads and hair pieces along with their cowls and masks and accessories and just invest more in the quality lf this theme maybe raise the set age to what it is for the Harry Potter sets? Like can someone on the other side please hear our calls? Lol I don’t want this license being dropped to a competitor but I feel like Lego is not doing much with it.
  5. Hello all new member here. This is my first post regarding my favorite theme so I’ll try and be concise in both my admiration and criticism of this years releases. The mini figures series was alright but when compared to an also 5 dollars series, Series 19, I feel this series could have included more in the ways of accessories to justify the price point. I’m admittedly not familiar with economics or business strategies to understand the price hike but I reason they probably could have given both Simon Bazz and Sinestro those flaming flying pieces Captain Marvel and War Machine have but in green and yellow respectively. Or maybe even more new molds? Is it radical to imply that Huntress could have been given a new mold? The figure choices were adequate but with only half the cast being new members and the other half being pre existing variants I reason it was more to have some familiarity among children to ensure the series would sell? In a perfect world we could have really obscure characters in series like these but I notice Lego is very hesitant to delve into the character roster DC has to offer. The new Bat-cave was actually refreshing and I appreciated the Clay-Face build and new Catwoman figures. The new two face was fun too but would it kill them to print the accurate boots onto Batwoman? I also think lowering the belt printing onto the torso hip for some of these figures could still look good, I don’t think it all needs to be printed on the torso, plenty of star wars figures get torso hip printing so I would like to see some of that here too. Like would anyone be against seeing Superman’s belt line printing go into his hip piece? I think it’d look cool. Plus not just dual molded legs but actually printing the bat shape onto the top of Batwoman’s boots. Again, the high quality of print that Lego has given in other themes and other figures before I think would greatly increase the quality of this theme. And building on that, the most disappointing set for me this year was the Mobile Base, I absolutely hate the redundant character choices the company uses for both Superhero themes. On a free wave with no movie release, we should be excited about the new characters the sets will bring since it doesn’t have to adhere to the limitations of a movie and we have the opportunity for comic based sets. Unfortunately the reality of the theme is the recycling of Batman and a select few of his rogues. And the variants of his rogue gallery have progressively gotten worse too. With the Mobile Base, our only new character was Bronze tiger. And ofc Lego does not give us the Helmeted version of the character or the all yellow outfit that would have required torso and leg printing but would have looked amazing if done right. They give us a look that not only requires no leg printing but no hair piece either. It’s lazy and I feel the company could do more. I think the company is underestimating the youths familiarity with characters and the desires in a toy. Batgirl could have done with leg printing and I am so sick of this hair piece being used on every girl character in this theme. Plenty of pieces would gave worked and maybe even made the figure more interesting. The freeze figure I think is the worst we’ve ever had I’m genuinely surprised with all the molds they already had for him why they’d go for something that shrinks his head and simplifies the character. oops this post is becoming too long because I don’t want to spam this page. I’ll hold my comments for now but i do anticipate commenting later because I have a lot to say on Lego and the arguments made that these sets are simple and basic to appeal to kids because I have my youthful mind in clear memory and boy oh boy did I have higher standards than this haha. edit accidentally reported my post by clicking the report icon but I think I clicked cancel on time? If a mod see’s that I reported my own comment this is me saying that was a mistake but it may not have gone through.
