  1. I was already going to pick all of these sets up without ever seeing a picture. But now seeing the pictures in more detail, they are really going all out for this theme. I can't wait to get these. I know very little of the Lone Ranger story, but it doesn't matter with these beautiful sets. I will definitely see the movie thanks to TLG. I love the stagecoach design overall. I especially love 3 horses in one set, 2 of which are black without evil eyes. The train is a must have anyway, but with all of that track included it is a day 1 purchase. I was going to get it anyway without the track, but that cinches it. And a lot of useful torsos for MOCs, not just western themed either. So far I am much more impressed with this theme than Super Heroes, which has been kind of a let down lately. Those are for the figures. These sets seem to be for the figures and the sets themselves!
  2. I've never played Zelda even though I was huge into gaming in the 80s/90s. But depending on how the figures turned out, I may be interested in this. I highly doubt it will pass since they did say no to another project. But it will be interesting to see what happens. I doubt fans will stop putting Zelda on CUUSOO just because a few didn't pass. It's like many people putting the countless Star Wars sets on there. People want a certain thing and TLG may or may not be willing to produce said items at this time.
  3. All I can say is I'm glad I only buy the Super Hero sets for the figures because the sets themselves leave a lot to be desired. But with that said, the figures leave some to be desired too. Especially mandarin. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have black hair in the trailers, so they are making him a lot younger looking than he could be. And that beard isn't very fitting. I don't like seeing the same Iron Man suit in two sets, unless my eyes deceived me. But I like seeing the gun on War Machine.
  4. I must not be the big spender at my local store since it is a few hours away. But I know I spent well over $1000 last year from the retail store. Oh well.
  5. It does have a nice ruined look to it. It feels like it has really been abandoned. Good job with this.
  6. I just saw that SteamPunk set from brickset and I would buy that up in a heartbeat. I like how they incorporated only new prints, but no new pieces. Now is TLG willing to undertake that idea, I don't know. But if they did, I'd buy it the day it came out. If only a fraction of that came out. I love the printing on the figures and the backstory of the characters. They did a nice job with it. I keep looking at it and keep disappointing myself since it isn't available to buy right now.
  7. Great army. It looks very uniform and fitting. The gold really stands out in the crowd. I do like that Caesar hair/crown combo. That seems to work quite nicely when you don't want to use a giant crown. I should come up with armies of my own sometime.
  8. Awesome build. I love mini scaled versions of official sets (when they are done right) and this is definitely done right. Very accurate. The folding wings is just a bonus! Keep up the good work! I may try my hand at this sometime.
  9. Well the LOTR cave troll and then the Rancor from SW are both larger than the Hulk figure size and are one off molds essentially. So they could do the same with Galactus and have it as a Rancor size scale or something.
  10. Very nice. And it's great that you were able to build that yourself. I'm LEGO building inclined, not wood. My only concern, when your technic collection grows are you going to build a matching shelf or somehow stack up on this one? I currently have book shelves also, but they are built into our house (they were there when we bought it), and they seem to hold most things I need. I have Modulars displayed and the 32 x 32 baseplate still has room in front of it, so they are plenty deep for what I need.
  11. I hope it is a joke because that would be a steal! Every product TLG has for $2000.. haha
  12. Those are impressive. And to think if it was the 80s they didn't have a lot of the specialized pieces we have today. Very interesting. I had never heard of nor seen this before. Thanks for sharing!
  13. I've never bought a bundle, but I have seen them on the website. Although I've never seen as a full bundle of every set, only a select few they choose to put together. I typically just buy the sets on deals when they come out. Amazon usually has much better prices than S@H, although I do like the VIP program for free LEGO down the road.
  14. Interesting story. I like the build. The interior is very fitting. I used to think I was good at writing, but I think I'm at a block for most of Historica. Keep up the good work!
  15. They are scarce in these parts. Only TRU has them and a few days after they put them out I found a fortune teller. But most of the figures were gone. I was surprised to find that one at all because of the low availability.
  16. Neat build. I like the figure color usage. The yellow sleeves is interesting. I hadn't seen that before, but I do like it. It helps that they are licensed skin tone too. The tree is interesting looking. Where did you get the yellow leaves? I've seen a few custom colors, but I don't remember where.
  17. Brilliant. Great scenes captured in LEGO form. I think the base really catches the eye, but the scene takes the cake. I like how you did the marshes the best. The different textures/colors really show how murky that water is. Keep up the good work. I will check back to relook at these time and time again. Edit: I originally pictured this line-up like a Nazgul going on a job interview with a briefcase, or returning home from a rough day at work. Silly stuff, but I also like how it isn't that and is more authentic Nazgul related events.
  18. I painted a good chunk of my childhood pieces/figures also when I was a youngster. Something clicks in your brain and you have to do it. And then years later you kick yourself for it! I don't know how many pieces I've ruined. I may try that brakleen sometime too just to see. If it works great, if not then the pieces were already useless anyway.
  19. But if you do let him in there, then it still becomes a toy and not fully an investment. He'd basically still need his own LEGO to "play" with in the end. I do agree there are certainly some collectibles in there. I don't let my daughter play with some of my higher priced figures, but she can basically do whatever with the rest. She breaks a lot, but then I just put it back together. If there is something I really don't want her touching, it sits high on a shelf in another room that she doesn't go into (like you). But not everyone is a collector/investor. I buy for fun to build, I don't care about appreciation in value or anything like that and I'm not trying to resell later.
  20. Before joining Eurobricks in summer of 2011, I had never heard of Fabuland. I still don't know much about it. This month will be interesting, but like many others I will have to just watch because I don't think I will pay some of those prices just for a figure. It seems like most are overseas anyway.
  21. I watched The Graduate last night. It was the first time I've ever seen it. It was pretty funny overall, but I don't know if it was supposed to be a comedy. Times were different in 1967, that's for sure. I like how the end was lifted and placed into Wayne's World 2. I thought it looked familiar, but it was confirmed last night watching it. I'm going to watch Wayne's World 2 tonight because of it.
  22. Gil-Galad looks awesome. I especially love the shield and sword. I doubt they will make him specifically, but I wonder if they will ever make those weapons.
  23. october - I think in the long run, whichever you choose you will be satisfied with it. A lot of people attest to how good the Fantasy sets are. I own none, so I can't say anything about them. But I do know if I had to chance to get them, I would still pass (even though the castle theme is my favorite). Not that it means much. Haldiron - Since it is what you are trying to build, go for any castle themed sets, i.e. LOTR/Hobbit. But outside of those themes, the log cabin has lots of browns. Maybe Ewok Attack from Star Wars for browns too. You can always try bricklink for individual pieces. Yes, it can get expensive, but so can buying big sets to try to get enough pieces. With bricklink you can get the exact piece you want in the exact quantity you want.
  24. It makes you wonder how much the big spenders actually have to spend to be in the top 25 (or whatever the limit is for this particular gift). I know I spent a fortune at S@H and at the retail store, but I never receive anything, so there must be some really big spenders out there. The keychain looks nice, but I'd end up selling it anyway since I would have no use for it.
  25. That is brilliant. The destruction is very fitting. The gore/blood shows how serious the situation is. Great parts usage. Keep up the good work.
