  1. your obviously in the puss as I am, judging my your flickr pics great billbords btw. I have been working on ones to put down the sides of the modulars to compensate not having a corner building. i like your 3D renditions
  2. Thank you. 2 of these will find a home at my place. Your review sold me.
  3. It's a no-brainer... It's the oldest one available at the moment, but it first.
  4. I love it... we need a F1 car buidling team on these forums
  5. I've thought about this, and the FS is the only modular thus far with a vehicle garage.... i'd love to see another garage in a new modular
  6. this year i'd like one of the following: - a construction site modular... being half built, with scaffolding, work crew, half painted etc. - apartments. along the lines of the PS, 2 half size buildings side by side - office block, full of office cubicles etc - hospital any one of them would be perfect for me.
  7. a beautfiful MOC mate. bit of a F1 fan? i've had an idea brewing for some time i'd like to perhaps share with a like minded F1 fan
  8. I did mine a year ago. I had ~20% of the parts myself, and replaced 1x8 sand green bricks with 1x4, and it cost me $320AUD (~$300USD) it depends on what you have already. grooved sand green 1x2 are going to kill your budget.
  9. I just hope the next modular is a decent building. Im keen for a multi-story apartment block or a commercial building. I want this one to be a full and complete building this year, unlike the PR where they shaved off the back of it. as for colour scheme... hmm im very keen to be surprised this year.
  10. around 200K in total

im stunned at the ability to use the angles to work.... simply stunned. It's beautiful
  12. + one loving the TH. I dont know why so many ppl imply dislike. I think it's one of the best, with enough size and room to fit your hands in. It's meant to large and grand, as it's the Civic centre of a town.
  13. Whatever it is, i will buy it. im not going to b happy if it's another 'skinny' modular like PR was. you can justify it once, but if it happens again i'll be very upset.
  14. any news or expansion to this city? it's been a while, and im dying to see what's happening
  15. i use a roll of masking tape and a texta
  16. this year will be good for TLG, but not as good for us: IMO, im starting to see creep in two directions, firstly in size and scale of sets (downwards) and creep in price (upwards). it's the little things im starting to notice, and i hope it's not just me being over-analytical. some of my examples: - SW sets reboots are getting smaller, and more expensive. (comparing ISD's and AT-AT's, Jabba's sail barges for example) - Modular shrinkage. The PR is shaved down compared to the older ones not by height, but be depth. this keeps the facade intact, but takes away from the less-seen places and im a critic of part count at the moment (as my signature suggests). it's a mirage to show consumers there is heaps of parts in the box, but in reality it's more smaller parts in some cases. call me paranoid, but it seems to been noticeable in the last 18 months.
  17. as my signature suggests:
  18. TLM sets in a couple of Myer stores in VIC, and with the 20% off... looks like the stock is tricklink out around the country.. some will get the benefit of the 20%, some probably will not.
  19. It's fantastic. I may use this as inspiration for the very same idea i have been thinking about.
  20. my prediction of the next modular: Just like the PR it will be smaller than the rest of the modulars. They will mask the piece count with greebling and interior, but the building itself will be noticeably smaller... but the same price as the larger modulars
  21. Now if I designed the approach to introducing Lego stores into Oz..... I'd use the Myer CBD stores in Melbourn & Sydney to do it. PaB walls, and stock EVERYTHING Lego releases. The business model would be similar to having a Virgin Music store or a a Cafe inside a department store... You could use Myer's online website to distribute the complete Lego catalogue (and PaB) to both local Myer pickup or mailing it to your door... PaB would be heavily supplied and stocked. If the 2 in Sydney/Melbourne were successful, only then would I expand into the other cities, with a Maximum of 1 per city, except sydney/melbourne with 1 in CBD and 1 in Parramatta and Chadstone ..... if only i had the power to do that
  22. jeebus that would have to be 100K or more of bricks!
  23. this is why we need an annual Modular comp.... look at the quality builds everyone is making
  24. i actually think that looks better than the CC... well done
  25. i've always thought they should release a Lego Store modular... it's a no-brainer btw, beautiful creation. you nailed it.
