  1. http://www.news.com.au/finance/business/greenpeace-targets-lego-to-block-shell/story-fnda1bsz-1226978493497 They attacked miniland?!
  2. the beauty of lego is that you can break it down and start again.... experiment with different options to see what's best for you. Anything goes, jump in and mix it up.
  3. Not in Australia at the moment. with the sales on right now, I can buy 4 x 31026 sets for the same price as 1x PS, GE or the TH. And with that many copies one could make a pretty good modular set.
  4. should we demand a male minfig for the Friends line?
  5. prototype Modular Green Grocer on the Presentation. I think they used some of this for the Parisian Restaurant
  6. im also quite glad it's not a franchise this time. getting a bit sick of so many TV/movie/game franchises being used.
  7. i dont care if it's males or females. the star of the show is the dinosaur skeleton IMO. I think im buying this set to fill up the empty rooms i have in my custom modulars. these will be great furniture/interior filler
  8. I'd say there would be only 2... melb and syd CBD and that's an IF they consider it
  9. i love your height/depth layers you have built into the modulars. it's something im thinking about straying into in the future. another great update.
  10. If they are go around a second time with UCS Xwing, maybe a UCS MF, can i hope for another UCS ISD??
  11. Unless Grogall announces it, I dont believe it.
  12. I scored 2 x 31026 bike shop Creator sets @ Myer yesterday.. with the 20% off They will be cheaper at big W of course, but i still think it was a good price. RRP in Myer is 99.99 for these. Btw, the Brand store paranoia that everyone is having: Look at other brands of clothes, watches, kitchenware etc.... they all sell at department stores, and the department stores still have sales on these products with or without the brand stores. I dont think Lego would act in any different. Sure, They MAY reduce the department stores from stocking Modulars etc, but So what? it's not like they (department stores) stock them 24/7 anyway. In fact, DJ's and Myer only sporadically stock their stores at best, whereas I'd love to see a dedicated store that will always have the Big sets available. I want to buy my Ewok Village from a store the month it's released, not have to go through an elaborate mailing routine to import it from O/S, because it wont be in any of the retailers stores for 12 more months.
  13. i hope you think imitation is a form of hommage and inspiration... because you have shown me a great idea for a police station, and im off to buy 2 x police stn's to get started! thank you Sir!
  14. at least you get PaB..... at least you get Lego stores.....
  15. my 'mega-plates' are built on baseplates, and go 4 x plates high to the 'ground'. the tiles for modulars footpaths will the 5 x plate level high.
  16. I have gone with brick roads. Why? - strength. Im building a modular village layout, and the strength needed to carry so much weight for mobility made brick roads a no-brainer - flexibility. the village will be modified and evolve over time, so i want the ability to tweak roads as i need to. - detail. I plan on adding my details on the roadways. here is my work so far: https://www.flickr.com/photos/91792571@N02/sets/72157640962762183/
  17. well, i have just completed building my PR for the first time. (I've had it sitting in it's box for 6 months due to lots of life events).... so sorry for my feedback delay. in short: I enjoyed building it, but im concerned by the size of it. It is considerably smaller than modulars of the past. It's piece count is bloated by an enormous volume of parts that are smaller than or equal to a 1x2 plate. It's dimensions are a slimmed down modular by depth and height. Im concerned this is the new path by the TLG. Let's see what's next. All in all this is a modular with about 20% of it's 'volume' missing.

    Moc: MURCA!

+1 I think the envelope is an attempt to use the confederate flag.
  19. there's a page online about shopping in singapore somewhere, but i cannot recall where it is. Look around for the Singapore LUG page, and drive google a little bit and you will find the list of stores to visit. i've been there twice since my return to lego. There are several lego only stores there, and another place to look is at action figure stores. i spent a day roaming singapore with a list of shops to visit. the TRU stores are usually well stocked as well. It's not that cheap in singapore. They are just below australian prices. Singas is cheaper than Malaysia. LL Malaysia is not cheap at all. I've heard there's a sort of monopoly in Malaysia and the importer controls the prices.
  20. well i found this, but it has not included duplo 105xx sets http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Set_References_10000_-_19999 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=44&sortBy=I&sortAsc=D&catType=S - duplo has used 10500 - 10576 so far. - 10600's have already been used - some 11xxx already used still a lot left, but not as many left unused as you may believe either.
  21. I think it's a case of 'Monkey see - Monkey do' with a lot of the new-age resellers. The infamy and price of the CC and MS sets has made most people believe the the GG and FB has the same destiny. People are already aiming to sell these modulars at $1000-1500 price mark. Im sure as we speak people are aiming to stash away a copy of each modular as if they all will go the same way.... Up. I dont think they will ever reach the prices and value of the CC and MS. People's hype and craze has shot the price of the FB up already, but i suspect that it's a false value. It's price is held that high because people WANT to make a profit on it, whereas the CC is expensive due to natural Supply and demand. The 10179 UCS MF is a major contributor to the price hype. It's legendary value and fame of how much people will spend on it has everybody trying to recreate the same hype on any and all sets they can.
  22. i could handle a mechanics workshop, that incorporates a garage roller door. we havent seen that since the FB.
  23. im really after just simple shops.... like the pet shop ( 2 x 16's), but simple street stores like 'high st' stores. not every release has to be a grand statement.
  24. I havent seen it discussed here, but my observations have noticed that in the near future the 10xxx numbers will run out. The numbers set are used for Creator expert, Modulars, UCS sets (including SW) duplo, lego juniors and probably more. what will they use next? 11xxx? 99xxx? will they shift all SW UCS to the 75xxx numbering of sets? does anyone know the answer to this one at all?
