Hi all. My son and I have been building with my old technic bricks. Now I was thinking: I do have a 12v motor. And some old pneumatic parts, of the first series around 1984 i guess. Is it possible to motorize the pump with the 12v motor. More specific: I fear the pump would be to 'stiff' to move with the spring. Any ideas? (I thought I had once seen in in a Technic ideabook from those years, but could not find that.)

42053 - Volvo EW160E
Good old Lego builder replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Has anyone an idea how the scale of this Volvo compares to the Arocs? Same scale or is it smaller? -
I'm really looking forward to see this model evolve. You're of to a nice start!

I have a small question: I'm trying to build a winch like on the Unimog 8110 BUT with classic Lego Technic bricks. I borrowed a wormgear from my son, but now I can't have it meshed with an 8-teeth gear. (I'm not a technic mastermind). Is this possible at all? In Sariels book I saw an example with bevel gears, but I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong here....

When my son was born, I rebuild all my Town sets. That was in 2009. I think the last set I bought was the Model Team Highway truck around 1986/87. I then started MOC-ing a bit in Model Team scale (12-studs wide). My first new set was 8110. Later followed by 42009, the Tumbler and this year the Arocs. Oh, and the VW Campervan. Great sets all. But I must say these days I'm mostly intrested in Technic. It is really the most challenging. So that is what I follow on the forum here. My son loves the City stuff. I occasionally build stuff for him from my old bricks. He is really into Lego Batman these days... (with my help :-) ) I haven't rebuild any of my Technic sets from the mid-80's however. Right now I'm now and then working on a Unimog 406 like truck, same scale as 8110, but build with my '80's classic technic bricks. And 12V motor to power some sort function.
