  1. I hope you succeed in this building. I plan to see the final model.
  2. I got my space port recently. I think it's an amazing set. Knowing that the City division of Lego does listen to its older fanbase sometimes has put mh mind at ease. I usually nod my sets and for this one, I ended up removing the little roller coaster piece as I felt it unnecessary. I can actually make the astronauts walk to the shuttle. But I love the feature where you can stick your android inside the building and pretend the team is controlling it. Detail in a smaller package is an admirable thing. I also love how the rocket holders move when you pick the rocket up. Overall, this gets a 100% from me. Sidenote: I'm glad they made this a 7+ set. Smart move Lego
  3. I got mine for half price too. Won it on eBay for $60.00 USD. Free shipping and everything.
  4. Now THIS is something I can use.
  5. My hope is that it is actually a piece of vital Ninjago City civilian infrastructure. But if its a people pack, it can still be useful.
  6. I wonder if I'm the only one on these forums who prefers the PF system over the 9V system.
  7. I wonder if its an actual building.
  8. Yes I have it and I think its an awesome set. Let's just say.....its pretty much of the very few sets from 2018 that I have. I also have the heavy cargo transport and some of the arctic sets.
  9. Anyone who does an amazing train layout like that is a hard worker.
  10. That could be true! But I still see the arctic base sets on the shelves. Coast Guard comes every four years so I expect some new ones in the Summer or 2021.
  11. Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry! Well. Welcome to Eurobricks Denis. I read Denise. Sorry!
  12. Nah....those'll come back soon. I guarantee it. Especially Arctic and Coast Guard. They sell to well to be short lived. When it comes to sells, they're practically on the same level as Fire. When I think short lived, I think themes the we haven't seen in almost 9 years. I wouldn't call it an amazing rate. It took years and years to get to this level. If it were an alarming rate, we'd be a majority by now.
  13. Exactly! And that's basically what i made this discussion from. Preference!
  14. Hello Denise! It's great that you're here. We definitely need more women who love Lego. Do you like to build towns?
  15. Yeah....like this year's fire station and space center.
  16. @Aanchir All of that is very true. But understand fully, I did also acknowledge that the AFOL rate has grown and yes this is based on fact because.....like I said, I have an insider who shall remain anonymous for the sake of preventing issues. He stated that the number of OFOLs (I prefer to call them Older Fans Of Lego) has risen dramatically since 2009 (in which it was only 5%) to at least 40%. This however is still not enough. We're still a minority. Ok yes! You can mention the themes that you have mentioned in your statement. I'm going to go as far as to put some generic themes in there like Creator Modulars and Speed Champions - the latter of which seem to target more a teen audience than adults or children. I believe that while we are being listened to as older fans of Lego, we must at the same time come to understand that we are still a minority. That's why they don't give us everything that we want. Lego is in a way, what you call a Democracy. Majority rules. But c'mon! Even the sets that are geared towards children, we still tend to enjoy. So what's the big deal. I mean....yeah! I would like a few changes to my favorite theme - City. But all the same, overall, Lego does an awesome job in making sets that not only attract children, but adults as well. As for THAT statement, those people are actually wrong. We can't blame Lego for that. The thing is....is that Lego makes sets that appeal to children and are intended to appeal to children. They just unintentionally tend to attract older audiences. The 2019 Fire wave, which was my favorite wave btw, was one of those. I've given and I have heard some positive feedback from older fans. I mean for the sake of Freya McCloud, who would've known that Lego would give you an actual burger bar. Not just a small piece. What I'm saying is.....I agree with you 100%.
  17. Great job! I love how its minifig scale too.
  18. Oh no no no. I mean short lived subthemes, like Garage or Harbor or Cargo. You know, the idea of themes that are good, but were short lived.
  19. I agree with that. 8 stud is going too far. In my city, the only cars that are 6 stud wide are race cars. The other cars (including the police cars and taxis) are four stud wide. Trucks and buses are all 6 stud wide. I don't have any 8 stud wide vehicles in city. I think the Lego makes an exception with their Speed Champions series because Speed Champions are geared more towards teenagers and young adults than children. So they are allowed to flesh out more detail. They have to make City vehicles simpler because those are for children. But hey! Sometimes simpler actually looks better.
  20. I know you guys probably know about my bigotry towards automobiles that are 6 studs wide. However, when it comes to race cars, I think it works. I own both 60053 and 60113 and they are very nice vehicles. I would like to hope that the race cars that we are supposed to receive in 2020 start a trend of making race cars for Lego City. I do worry that it won't happen since Speed Champions exists. Though Speed Champions seems to be targeted towards OFOLs than CFOLs.
  21. Do you think you can put subthemes under that equation too? Like the ones from City and Creator.
  22. 71708: Gamer's Market (218 pieces)
  23. Yeah......I am too. Maybe in November, we'll start seeing them. Right now, all we've seen are names. At least image leaks give us somewhat of an idea of what we're waiting for.
  24. Because when it comes to Lego, children and adults aren't on the same page and the targeted audience for Lego is children and Lego favors them over us. That's kinda why we don't see the things we want. But we have to deal with it. According to my insider friend who shall remain anonymous, AFOL has actually grown to 40% since 2009, but that's still not enough. Children are still the majority and Lego is a democracy. They're not going to do a lot for the minority (which are the AFOLs). They're going to target the people who give them money. Children. While I myself don't care for some of the things TLG does with certain themes (especially City), you can't deny that what we consider worse is actually what's helping them survive. Hopefully that clears things up.
  25. Personally, I don't think that the explorers themes really fit into the City theme (as I do with the extra police themes). But.....I adore Space Exploration and Arctic Expedition and I have a soft spot for Prison Island and Deep Sea Exploration as I get a lot of nostalgia from those. They remind me of Space Port/Launch Command, Arctic, Pier Police and Divers from the 90s and early 2000s. And technically, those were all under town. They were just marked as spin-off sets, while the current ones are marked under City. So I kinda see why they did what they did. The only reason I really don't care for the extra police themes and why I think the explorers themes should be moved some where else is because I worry that subthemes involving other lines of work other than rescuing and exploring won't be done because of there not being enough space.
