The Current State of the City
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Town
@MAB Looks like I'm going to be doing some MOCing. If City won't do it for me, I'll do it myself. But you've got to admit that there are lots of other pieces of action out there that just rescue. I mean...look at the construction (that includes demolition) and airport topics Lego has covered. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The likelyhood that you found this out from them is next to none. How do I know? Because I have an insider (who shall remain nameless) and she says that when it comes to new sets, they have to swear not to say anything or show anything until it's time to do so. So either you're lying or....that person at the store is in for a world of trouble. -

@KotZ Maybe I could learn how to build some MOCs instead of complaining about the buildings provided by City. -

The truth is.....I don't know how to do MOCs. -

Maybe we'll see some in November. If not November, maybe early December. If not December, then I'm worried. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

It costs too much money to make it it's own theme. Though I agree with you that all of the explorers themes should have their own theme (Lego Explorers), it would take a huge nosedive to do so. They read this stuff. Don't give them no ideas. ??? -
I've always loved Lego trains. So expensive though so I could never afford them. Must invest.

Or until 2024 if they were to keep up the same 6 year hiatus system for hospitals. I also surprised that Airport and Harbor doesn't get three year rotation status as sailors and pilots are also in the top 5.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

We all are. But don't feel bad. We're more valuable than we think. I only assume some of it doesn't do well judging from how long it stays on the shelves to collect dust or whether its pulled from the shelves immediately. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

I wish OFOLs saw sense and didn't support all those police sets. Don't they know how crazy it's getting? Pretty soon, it could end up being what you just said. I think City should go back to the yearly rescue theme instead of the yearly police theme. It's starting to lose its grip on reality. Especially if they take police into space. Lego doesn't always know what they're doing. EDIT: I like the system Lego City had in the late 2000s and very early 2010s: 2006, the rescue theme was Medical 2007, the rescue theme was Fire 2008 had two rescue themes; Police and Coast Guard 2009 introduced the new roadside repair theme (Missed my chances on that one) 2010 was fire again 2011 was police again 2012 was forest rescue. Medical sorta made a comeback, but it was very slight. 2013 was SWAT (Elite Police), fire and coast guard 2014 was police What I'm saying is that Lego had such an amazing system then. I dunno why they felt the need to change it. They were still doing well financially and were still able to appease their target audience, while even gaining more older fans in the process. They impressed everybody. I wish they could go back to that, which I believe they can. -

If that happens, I will casually distance myself from the fandom and turn towards MOCs. I don't care how much I suck at MOCs. Because I will officially lose hope in City. -
@TeriXeri I personally would also like to see City's industrial side make a major return for 2021. Themes I'd like to see return. I would love to see the Harbor subtheme make a comeback. This time along with the harbor and a beach, I'd also add a pier police set like the one in the 90s and another ferry. This time, one that can accommodate big rigs. Also to save money, I'd probably merge the coast guard headquarters under that subtheme. I have been screaming for the Mail and Cargo subtheme from 2008 to return. This time, give us an actual cargo terminal and a post office building. The Medical subtheme deserves to be brought back and given three year rotation status. Doctors and paramedics are like in the top 5 when it comes to people that children look up to. But the one I really would like to see make a comeback is the Garage theme from 2009. I will hammer that one till the cows come home. I used to work on cars. I'm offended that it was just a come and go theme. It was here in 2009 and gone in 2010. Never even got a chance to really sell before being discontinued. I guess the tuning shop in 2020 will compensate. Speaking of the cows coming home. Lego I beg of you! Please bring the Farm subtheme back! I never even got a chance to get the farm. New Subtheme Ideas. I will continue to push for this one until it's done. Make a Buses subtheme. I work for the Transit system. That's why I push for this so much. Though I'd make the buses blue. Not yellow. How about a Pizza subtheme to complement the City aye? Since it seems so huge. I would also love to see a Power subtheme centered around the electricians of Lego City and a News subtheme centered around the TV6+ news crew. If they absolutely had to do a police theme, I'd recommend a rather unusual one. Suburban Police Yes. I mean the cops chasing them into the suburbs. So much potential there; a grocery store heist with a actual grocery store, a school bus chase set (influced from the school bus chase back in 2018), the mobile unit that we're missing from 2020, a police bus and a home invasion set. It's also unusual because there is no police station. There wouldn't be any point. All they need is to be taken to the police station in the city.

Exactly. But I didn't feel the need to explain that. I also love how he brought up sets that have been long off of the shelves. Anyway. What do you think of my ideas?

Worth getting Lego 60204? (City Hospital)
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to ks6349's topic in LEGO Town
Yes it was a great set. I personally would like to see more pieces of standalone civilian infrastructure under City's Town subtheme. Don't get me wrong, the mega sets are fantastic. But I mean sets like 60154, 60169 and 60204. -
What's up?

Ok...... You're trolling now.

I wish people would stop mentioning what's been covered already. Its annoying and hypocritical!

Which Themes Deserve a Reboot?
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Lancethecat's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For my country, its $15.00. Worth it if you look at the details though. The only thing that turns me off I'd that I have seen lots of American Muscle and European Exotics. But I haven't seen any Japanese Imports yet. What about GTRs or NSXs???- 438 replies

Damn. I didn't know this topic would become a hit. People are still on this thread today.

My proposed sets for summer 2020. Shopping District Mega Set Barber Shop. (Ok I know it may not sell well among kids. But I would like to see how older fans would marvel) Family Home (perhaps an evolved one of the ones from classic town) Outback Enthusiasts subtheme, which would be a reboot of the Outback theme from 1997 My proposed sets for 2021 A metro transit subtheme A roadside repair subtheme A power subtheme A medical subtheme A subtheme centered around pizza delivery The respective great vehicles The respective town sets

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I remember saying that 2021 should be a police theme free year. But considering how much opposition I faced, I wouldn't be surprised if Lego saw this and decided to do the exact opposite by making every 2021 City set police themed.
