  1. @ShaydDeGrai Ok. I have no idea what you've just said. Psaise simplify to a straightforward answer so I'll understand. EDIT: I understand now after reading it fully. So then they're not getting tired of it.
  2. You should see City Beautiful's review on YouTube. But yeah. I understand police is one of the best sellers so it needs to be featured in some major way. But c'mon! There has to be a better way to lay down the law in the city without shoving it down our goddamn throats.
  3. I actually don't mind the advanced looks. My point is that 80s and 90s town gave more options for actual civilian infrastructure. Not just vehicles. Of course you had your police station, fire department, hospital and other emergency services because every town needs that. But in classic town, not only could you pretend to be a rescuer. But you also had a post office, a full bus terminal and plenty of auto complexes. You even had houses. So you could pretend to be a mail man, bus driver, mechanic and even a housewife. Back then, the town had many buildings. Buildings = jobs. Today, for City, it seems like the only jobs you can do in Lego City are being a rescuer or a scientist which does get kinda boring. I'm with you there on backing down from many city sets. Though I do buy anything that's reasonable.
  4. I think another question is....are kids getting tired of Lego.
  5. Tbh, I didn't really own my first REAL Lego sets until I was 8. My first set was the 6434 Roadside Repair. Then I got rid of my Mega Blocks. I became more of an avid town collector when I turned 10. I remember getting 3 buildings for my 10th birthday; 6336 Police Station, 6472-1 Gas N Wash Express and the 10036 Pizza to Go.
  6. @ShaydDeGrai LOL! I was made fun of when I was in grade school. Authentic Lego was a treat. Up until I was 6, all we could afford were those low quality bricks called Mega Blocks. It was only rich and middle class kids who got real Lego. It wasn't until my dad got a better job and we moved to a better neighborhood that we were able to afford real Lego for my birthday. Point being: I finally met another one.
  7. Building Ideas for City. Please be standalone. Not bundled with other things. Pizzeria Bus Terminal School Grocery Store News Station Restaurant Driving School Recycle Center Taxi Station Post Office Bank Random Office Building Museum
  8. Nope! No prejudism. Just preferences. That's all. Matter of fact, you seem to be a great person to talk to more often. No hard feelings? Gimmie a follow?
  9. The following sets I'm still waiting for; pizzeria, recycle center, post office, grocery store, car dealership, news station, pet shop and a bus terminal. I would've added a repair shop. But I think that's what the tuning shop is going to be in 2020.
  10. Well so much for TLG knowing what they're doing. If breaking things up and giving buyers options works, how come I don't see that incorporated with City too much? I mean.....I would like to see a standalone car dealer or pizzeria or something similar.
  11. @Gomek Try Ebay. You'll find some there.
  12. Now I have to agree with you there. Especially with the Doughnut shop. The only two vehicles I felt were needed were the crane truck and the bike cart for the Doughnut shop. The taxi and news van felt needed but forced at the same time. I also prefer the 2019 fire station myself as its simpler. I'm hoping that simplicity in base sets I'd here to stay. That set and the burger bar actually made the fire sets my favorite sets for this year. I mean I was able to even use the burger bar as part of my town. Tbh, I'm hoping that things like the burger bar fire rescue would be incorporated to future sets. I actually recommended that Lego does a Police Grocery Store Heist with a store front and a bike cop and crook on a bike. But at the same time, you can use the store for civians. I also recommended a Police School Bus Chase with an actual school bus.
  13. So would you want to see more buildings? Because in my opinion, buildings symbolize jobs. So, the more buildings there are, the more jobs I and children know are in Lego City. Vehicles are good. But buildings show me better. I mostly end up modding the buildings that I get. For example, I got rid of the big boat from 60167 and used the boat from 60165 for my coast guard hq. I also switched the little truck from my 60215 Fire Station for the water shooter from 60214. I also removed the little coaster track from my 60228 Space Center, leaving just the rocket and building.
  14. You bring up an accurate point. I would like to see more options for rolling stock being sold separately. I'm still waiting for a mail train. But I stand by my statement. 9v is trash.
  15. I propose that TLG start a line of food trucks under the City theme.
  16. The most expensive set I own is the 60197 Passenger Train. However the way I obtained it was through an eBay bid of $64.00. Truthfully speaking, I do have to admit that brick tax has been going up and up throughout the years. While it does seem like some sets are overpriced, they are durable at the same time and have higher quality than they did before. For example, City! The buildings may be differ in size, but the one thing that they all have in common is that they are really detailed. Heck! Even the 60125 Fire Station was simple, yet detailed. Same with the buildings from 60233 Doughnut Shop Opening. However, I do have to admit that brick tax should be lowered a little. That way, we can have bigger buildings for less. I can agree with TLG's actions, but not at the same time. I'm more in a grey area than black or white on this one.
  17. The museum from Elite Police had more meaning.
  18. @TeriXeri @Gomek Once again. I'm talking simply about the technology in the trains. Nothing else.
  19. @Capparezza Judging from your avatar, I knew you were going to disagree with my statement before I even clicked on the notification. Anyway..... You do know that the sets that you mentioned are also compatible with RC trains right? I was talking specifically about the train sets. Not the add ons. But I do have to admit that I'm longing to see another engine shed. I also want to see a police train, fire train and a mail train. Railway Police anyone? Jk. I'm not gonna give Lego anymore ideas for police as we have enough of those already.
  20. With that being said, those 9V trains released by World City gave me so many issues. I could tell that was the last straw because from the date of their discontinuation onwards, all trains converted to RC and PF. Smart move Lego. PF is much more reliable than 9V. I can see why trains are selling better now than they did before.
  21. Wait a minute! So YOU were the person behind that school bus! You did a great job on that. I have been trying to find the builder behind that, but I was never able to.
  22. Very true. I'm not old enough to remember Mr. Hooper. Actually back when I first saw Allen, I thought his last name was Hooper until I found out that Hooper's Store was actually named after Mr. Hooper from the old days.
  23. I changed the wheels on the taxi. I can actually fit two people inside there. I think the police car that supposed to come with the 60246 Police Station should be four stud wide too! But back to Speed Champions......six stud wide should be the system for SC. If they can't do a six stud wide model, it shouldn't be made for SC. That's just my opinion.
