How much do you love Ninjago
Lego David replied to Ninjaguy99's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
For some reason a lot of people don't like it and want it to end. It's the last bit of a true original theme we have, and if this goes, than LEGO will probably never come up with a better theme. Both Chima and Nexo Knights which were supposed to replace Ninjago were far from reaching their goal... -
I am curious to see how the Chima crossover will play out (if the rumors turn out to be true). Chima has been retired since 2015, it's kinda strange that they decide to do a crossover now.

Well... No, never heard of him. It's another guy I was talking about, but you get the point.
-
Even if they end up never being used afterward, smart MOCers will still figure out a way to use them in their MOCs. Heck, there is a guy I know who constantly uses Galidor parts in his MOCs!

I doubt that, it looks like a simple soldier/minion rather than a full Boss. Plus the fact that it doesn't really look like a emperor.

Since 1999, when constracion was first introduced with Slizers (or Trowbots), there wasn't a single year that didn't have it. In 1999 we had Slizers. In 2000 we had Robo Riders. In 2001-2010 we had Bionicle. In 2010-2014 we had Hero Factory, in 2015-2016 we had Bionicle Generation 2, and in 2016-2018 we had the Star Wars Buildable Figures. So, 2019 marks as the first year without any constraction sets. What do you think? Is constraction gone for good, or will it continue in 2020 or something?

Considering how Ninjago and Elves were the only action adventure we had for the past few years, who knows... maybe it's going to be 100% licensed themes by 2030... This is what worries me the most...

I would personally have had it continue than just be canceled so suddenly with no replacement...

I really think Bionicle shouldn't be excluded... It's still an original Action-Adventure theme, and I don't think it should be excluded just because it's constration. And It's clearly one of the best themes of the 2000's and one of the best of all time. As far as my favourite system theme of the 2000's I have to go with Dino Attack. It's violent and mature theme was something that never came before or after it. The T1 Typhoon is probably the coolest LEGO Helicopter of all time. It was a perfect combination of cool vehicles and almost invincible Dinosaurs. Today's Jurassic World seems like it's for babies compared to Dino Attack. I don't know if it counts as a action-adventure theme, but Racers is another great theme of the 2000's that doesn't receive as much attention as it really deserves.

Maybe the Mermaid from the CMF series 9 could have been there... And why not Poseidon Himslef, in the form of the Ocean King, also from CMF. Amazing MOC! Incredibly detailed! I especially like how you made the Ship "float" using those transparent pieces.

Many people in the Ninjago Community have speculated that that Minifigure might actually not be Wu, but rather The First Spinjutzu Master. I hope this proves true, the theme has been going for so long, and we never got him in Minifigure form, despite it's very important role story-wise.

Thanks a lot! I hope your T1 Typhoon is still in good shape after so long being on the shelf! -
What are the most underrated themes?
Lego David replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have to say, Ultra Agent's Story was probably more advanced than Agent's. While I do think Agents was better, I this theme does not get as much attention as it really deserves. I have a few things to say here: Kids won't forget a theme they loved that easily. Ask any child and they would remember Chima. One of my brother's friend remembers Hero Factory and Bionicle G2 (and he is like 10 years old) and wishes them back. He even liked the SW Buildable Figures, but those are gone now too. Another 10-year old friend of my little brother wanted a set with Race Cars, but LEGO didn't have any of that for him. He just asked his father to get him a Race Cars sets, and Boom! His father Gets him a Racers set from a used seller. I was shocked when I saw a LEGO Racers set from 2007 in a 10-year old's room. I begged him to sell it to me because I collect Racer sets, but he loved the set so much that he refused. This shows that even an old set could appeal to a new generation child. Just as a kid watches a very old Disney movie such as Snow White and loves it as much as the newest movie that he sees in theatre, so can a KFOL get a very old set and love it as much as the newest set he got. So there is no such thing as "Kids don't like old stuff". -
discussion or Idea on Modern Lego motor
Lego David replied to jhlee's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think the current motors are fine. I don't want the price of the sets they came in to increase just because of a better motor. -

What are the most underrated themes?

I don't know, but it seems to me that a lot of people talk about it, even more than Rock Raiders. Not really underrated. Many people actually really like it, despite it's "girl" orientation,. Anyway, here are the themes that I think are underrated: - Racers. The theme lasted for 13 years, and it offered so much, but I almost never see people talk about it. People would just say "Ah, Speed Champions is better" without taking a brief look into the theme. This is one of my all-time favorite themes, and it's sad that it doesn't get as much attention as it really deserves. If you want to take a brief look into the entire theme, watch this video: After you watch it you should be convinced that is one of the most underrated themes. -Ultra Agents. A worthy succesor to Agents, this theme doesn't get much attention nowdays, despite it's great sets and story. I think Antimater is a better villian than Dr. Inferno. This theme may not be as great as Agents, but it still deserves a lot more than it gets. -
By underrated I mean themes that very few people usually talk about, but which deserve a lot more attention then they get. What do you think is the most underrated theme?

For how long will the LEGO company exist?
Lego David replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't doubt I will be proud of Hidden Side too, but that still doesn't fix the fact that it will be only Action-Adventure theme alongside Ninjago (with Elves gone since last year) -
For how long will the LEGO company exist?
Lego David replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ok, so they lost me as their customer since I don't buy the new sets and only spend my money on old retired sets on Bricklink or eBay. So obiosly, I am still a LEGO fan of the old LEGO, but I dislike their new products. Since they don't gain anything from me buying their older products, they lost me as their customer. -

There are plenty of sets which are clearly targeted at AFOLS, which makes me question that. Fine, if they will continue to be succesful, then it's their business. But in doing their business this way, they might loose customers over time. I don't know about other people, but they clearly lost me as their customer, and over time they will loose even more customers which were prievosly loyal to them. But who knows, I might be the only person on this entire forum which is never right in any way. I really recomand listening to this video if you have time, it appears this guy is better at making arguments than I am
