That is probably why they appear to not sell very well. I know they use Power Functions/Electric Parts but I don't think they are really worth so much. Maybe like 70$ would be more accesable. Also Considering that Track Trubo was only 40$ upon release... It's defenatly a better set. -

Yes, the BMW one does have recolored parts in Black. Here I made my review on it: -

Those RCs should look good for dispaly when you don't play with them. The App-controlled Batmobile doesn't really look like a Batmobile to be honest... We really need more RCs like Track Trubo RC, which look cool and work good at the same time. -

The Racers ones looked a lot cooler than the new sets. Out of all those comparsions, I feel like the Racers ones are the best. I own 8676 Sunset Cruiser, and while those RCs looked very Non-LEGO like, their parts are still compatible with Techinc parts. So, if you are creative enough, you could make some cool MOCs from them. Those RCs were great, I want to get at least most of them. One thing I defenatly like about them is how fast and well they worked expecially outdoor. About the App-controlled Batmobile, I am really not a fan of it. It just doesn't look good, compared with the Racers RCs which looked very cool even on Display. If we get RC cars, they should work but look good at the same time. -

Yeah sure. I believe you You just showed the early sets as your example. Just take a look trough the theme and you will find out that those sets were superior to anything we get nowdays. Also, I would any day buy this... for 7$ Rather than ugh... this... for 10$ -

I don't care. I just want Racers in its authentic form back. These old Racers sets look a lot cooler than any supposed Race car we got recently. Those sets look so cool that I fell in love with them at first sight and set The goal to collect as many from them as possible. I don't care about Speed Champions or Techinc very much. I just want them all to be together in one huge theme. Also, the reason so few people own them on Brickset is because the whole theme itself is very underrated. -
I don't think it can be called a "big bang" theme, but we did get Ultra Agents in 2014, the same year the first LEGO movie came out.

This And this. Speed Champions should be a subtheme of Racers. The Racers theme itself had the Ferrari subtheme, which was not very different from Speed Champions (except the fact that it was only based on Ferrari, maybe). Those two themes could co-exist in a perfect way. And I agree with this too. -

Before they had LEGO Racers. Gosh, this theme was miles better than Speed Champions. I'd gladly get rid of Speed Champions in return for Racers. And don't try to argue here: Racers lasted for 11 years. In this time, it had tons on subthemes, so any racing fan would be pleased. No matter if you were into real cars or Hot-Wheels-Style cars, this theme had it all. Compare this with Speed Champions, which only has one subtheme, and lacks any other type of racing. -
I had no reason to exist because nobody really wanted it. It will likely sell well because some people will buy them just because they are "new". A lot of YouTubers who knew nothing about the game just got most of the sets just because they are "new". So, at least I what I wanted to say, this isn't really a contradiction.

Licensed Themes VS Original Themes
Lego David replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Although I have quit with buying the new sets, I have discovered something new: OLD LEGO. I just look at those old themes and say "I want them all". Without this problem, I would have probably never discovered this. Sets that either I have mist on, or where made before I was even born, I want them all. So obiously my LEGO hobby still lives. And since I can get old sets from the 2nd market a lot cheaper than the new LEGO sets.... What is the point of buying the new sets? A year or two ago I almost quit LEGO. But the discovery of old LEGO, the beauty of LEGO used to be, kept me into it. -
Ok, so all I have said so far is just plain silly, right? Anyway, there is only one reason I have all those "silly" arguments, and that is, as this topic suggests, the lack of original themes. When I don't have anything I truly like on shelfs, you know, I kinda start to get mad, saying a lot of arguments that may or may not be valid. Back in 2010 when I first got into LEGO, licensed themes were just side themes. Back then there was only Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Price of Persia. Now almost all themes are licensed, with Ninjago remaining the only truly "big bang" original theme. In the 2008-2010 we got some of the best themes ever like Power Miners, Space Police 3, Hero Factory, Kingdoms, Mars Mission, Agents, and many more! This was the period I like to call "The Golden Era of LEGO". But as any golden era, it didn't last. We have not seen any space theme since 2013's Galaxy Squad. (Not counting Nexo Knighs) We have not seen any Castle theme since Castle 2013. By 2016, all original themes that remained were canceled, including Ultra Agents, Pirates 2015, and the Bionicle Reboot (other than the big bang themes such as Ninjago, Elves and Nexo Knighs). And since then this massive amount of licenses has invaded LEGO. Nexo Knighs was discontinued last year. Elves was discontinued this year. We are only left with Ninjago. And I have to say, I don't believe LEGO has any replacements for this two themes, like they always had up to this point. Ninjago will not last forever, and as soon as that goes, so will my LEGO Hobby most likely. I have loved LEGO for their crazy ideas. Humanoid Animals fighting for the so called "Chi"? A Factory deep in space that produces Robot Heroes to fight against villians? Knights with technology? Modern Ninjas fighting with elemental powers and huge vehicles at the same time? COOOOOOOLLLLL!!!!!!! This is what I used to love LEGO for. For their crazy ideas in something I have most likely never seen before as a toy. Now seeing them just rely on licenses which lack all this creativity LEGO has put into their original themes... I look at them and say to myslef "What Happened?" Anyway, I hope you now understand the reason I am so angry at them and their new products.

I agree with this. Their CMF series order have gotten completly messed-up since they have introduced so many licensed CMFs.

Licensed Themes VS Original Themes

I highly depends on themes. While Ninjago sets might have better prices, it's not the case with all the sets. Compare The New Samurai X Mech which costs 15$ and has 154 pieces with Kai's Blade Cycle from 2012 which is at the exact same price and has 188 pieces. Not only that, but with Kai's Blade Cycle you get a build which feels at the perfect size, when The Samurai Mech feels a bit oversimplified to me. This. Yeah, to be honest I prefer the Kingdoms set a lot more. It's simple, but a fun set. Yeah, I personally prefered the commercials where the functions/play features were showcased rather than those new ones with some random kids playing. -

They are toys, but toys which have gotten worse over the time. The reason I call them "trash" is because most of them are just overpriced cash-gubs for LEGO to get quick money. Again, not all pf them. There are some which I actually really like, such as the Technic Bugatti Chiron. But sadly, as I said, good sets like this start to appear rarely. Back in the early 2000's LEGO only produced about 300 sets per year. Now, they produce about 800 sets per year. And I feel like most of those 800 sets are just rushed and don't really have much quality. I think somebody must remind them that quality is better then quantity. I understand the need of more sets per year, but if they just decresed the amont of sets they make just a little bit and focus more on the quality, then I would most likely have no reason to complain. If you still think LEGO is good, It's fine. But In my opinion, they have 100% gotten worse over the past five years. -
Yeah, you are probably right here. As you said, people collecting CMFs would buy all new series, despite how good or bad they are, which isn't something very good. This way LEGO can just put out a bunch of bad CMFs (like Batman Movie series 2), and they will still sell because people collecting them will still buy them just to have them all. This is something that arguably LEGO has done in some capacity in the past few years.

I feel like most LEGO fans who buy the new sets only buy them because they feel forced to do so. Not that the set they bought actually interests them, just the fact that they want to get all new sets. I don't know about most fans, but this is definitely the case with LEGO YouTubers such as JANGBRICKS, Just2good etc. Most of the sets they buy, they only buy them for the sake of reviewing them. Not because they really like them or anything. Just because they think their responsibility as LEGO YouTubers is to buy as much as the new sets as they can and review them. And this is the prime example why LEGO is still successful: The Fans buy the new sets only because they feel obligated to. This was certainly the case with me in early last year. I was desperately trying to get as many new sets as I could, and forgot the fact that they were not really as cool as I thought. And after getting them, Gosh, I wanted my money back. I was soo disappointed with the money I paid and what I actually got. Since then I made the decision to only buy what I really like, and in this case, old LEGO feels like the thing I actually truly like.

Nexo Knights and Ninjago were the only themes we were still buying. Now, that Nexo Knights is gone, we are only left with Ninjago. While we do occasionally get Ninjago sets, other then that all the other sets are trash. Taking your example with the radio it would rather be like this: The radio played a lot of songs, from which only one I like, and hated all the others. So, with that, I can call it trash. The only set of 2018 that I thought was worth buying was the Bugatti Chiron. And so far, the only set of 2019 that I think is truly worth buying is the Monastery of Spinjutzu. Other then that, no other new sets either don't interest me, either I absolutely hate them. I do not care weather it has more work or not. The 2011 was so much better then the 2017 one. The 2011 one had great music and an amazing background. The 2017 one just shows some random kids playing. And if you look at the 2018+ ones (which for some reason I couldn't find on YT) they are so ridiculous. Just a man with a weird voice says "Oh no!" In such a stupid way. When you compare that with the old ones, the voiceing was almost perfect. I don't care how much work thay have put... as long as they are as ridiculous as they are now I hate them. Now, just as a side question, what side do you stand on? I can clearly tell that you are more into original themes! -
See? This is the exact problem. When you don't give your customer something that will interest him, you loose that customer. This is what worries me. More and more people I have talked to have said that they have no interest in the new sets and only buy old sets. If LEGO remains in their current stage they are right now, they will lose more and more customers, and this way they will lose money, potentially taking them into financial trouble. I personally haven't bought many of the new sets since Bionicle Generation 2. And all those few new sets I bought since then I was disappointed with. Again, if LEGO doesn't give to us, the customers, something that really interests us, they will lose all of us at some point.

Yeah, why would they keep the same price when there is no more game. Also, I never understood why they cancelled it completly in the first place. I mean, most LEGO games stop being produced but they can still be purchased from the 2nd market. But why did they completly shut down this game? Yeah? Where exactly did I contradict myself?

It's not like that. My 7-year old brother (my youngest brother) looks at them with disgust, and when I show him the old ones, he loves them. It's not like those old commercials wouldn't appeal to today's kids, it's just LEGO getting lazy and putting a smaller budget in them. Same with the LEGO sets. My little brother loved Nexo Knights, and now that it's over, he would just spend his money on old Bionicle sets rather than the new sets. I know this is weird for a 7-year old, but it's true. Me and my little brothers have long been done with the new sets. Weather it's me or my youngest brother, we both know that the new sets are trash compared to the old ones. -
LEGO Minifiures Online was a great game... What a shame I never got to play it, and now it's canceled, with no way to access it anymore.
