LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
So the names are taken directly from Journey to the West? Wasn't this supposed to be an original theme? -

Where do you know all this info from, if you don't mind me asking? -

I think it's most likely gonna be a Fantasy Asian theme, based on the Chinese mythology rather then the historically factual China. After all, the leaked bigfig certainly isn't based on the historical factual China. Well, it's still got a lot of Asian things about it, as @TeriXeri has pointed out: -

It's kinda hard for me to believe that LEGO would release two Asian-inspired themes at the same time. After all, that would be pretty much like releasing an in-house Space theme alongside Star Wars... there would be too much competition (especially when you are competing against the titan that is Ninjago). This makes me doubt that Leaf is an Asian-inspired theme. But then again, I could be wrong. -

Ok, hold on. Is this even real? That "Monkey Kid" logo alone looks like nothing related to LEGO. Also, would LEGO actually release another Asian-inspired theme alongside Ninjago? Wouldn't there be too much competition? -
German Toy Fair – LEGO To Increase Focus On AFOLs
Lego David replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't think TLG really understands what AFOLs actually want. They keep making sets that are supposed to draw Non-AFOL adults in (for example, Stranger Things, The Simpsons, and other adult-focused IP's like that) but they barely do anything for already exiting AFOLs. If anything this "Increase focus on AFOLs" probably means that they'll just make even more sets based on adult-focused IPs, or maybe'll even tackle with R rated movies. So yeah, no really excited about this. -

We already got set names for Ninjago and Hidden Side, when will we get set names for Leaf? -

Finally some proper information about Leaf. Now, those prices are quite interesting... 5$ for the smallest set?! It's been quite a while since we had a 5$ set that isn't a CMF. Four sets priced at 10$... I assume those are probably the speedorz/spinjitzu-type gimmick of the theme. Otherwise, weren't there supposed to be 18 sets in total? -

A new pirate ship set branded under the Creator line has been confirmed. I think it's safe to say that Leaf won't be a Pirates theme, since there is already the Pirate Bay and the Creator Pirate Ship coming up. Plus, the blue bigfig doesn't really look like anything Pirate-related (if the blue bigfig is indeed from Leaf). -
So, what are Leaf, IP-2 and Zebra?
Lego David replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There is a lot of conflicting information about it. The original leak said it was from Hidden Side, but FalconFan sais it's from Leaf. So we can't really be sure. -

Ninjago has always been more of a mix between Sfi-Fi and Fanrasy, with some seasons being focused on technology more or less than others. From the set names we got, it seems like Ninjago is taking more of a fantasy route with the next wave, so the leaked big fig could very easily turn out to be from Ninjago. -

No, it's not from the minions sets. It's either from Leaf or Ninjago. -

Maybe the third wave of Hidden Side will be branching away from ghosts, who knows? -
Is that set really called simply just "Lloyd"? Or just the title of the set is incomplete?

Where exactly did he say that? And how does he know more about it than we do? -

Well... here goes the last hope Constraction had... Either way, assuming it's indeed from Leaf, at first glance it looks like something fantasy, but when you look at the pants, they look more modern-ish. So it's perhaps a fantasy theme in a modernized setting? I don't really know. -
Those studded bracelets look like fun parts. If they're cheap enough, maybe I'll pick up a few of them. It would have liked it more if it had more specialized parts instead of just printed tiles, but hey, it's still something.

It could be from Ninjago, but it could also be from Leaf...

A new bigfig just leaked. It's blue with an orange beard and mohawk, and it's also got a necklace. It could be from Ninjago, but it could also be from Leaf... -
Any old Lego store display photos?
Lego David replied to Medzomorak's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Those aren't very old, but here is what I was able to find: I can't believe it's nearly a decade already since those sets were on shelves... -
Wow, that's super neat. Using those Claw pieces as mudguards for a car? That's quite impressive. Here a NPU from one of my MOCs: I used a Canister Lid as a table

Can you please post a bigger picture of the MOC? The picture you posted is way to small.

Why do Lego catalogs have no dioramas anymore?
Lego David replied to Medzomorak's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I also find it interesting how they managed to make all those things in the late 90's and early 2000's when they were almost bankrupt, yet they can't do them now, when they are one of the biggest companies in the world. They clearly have the resources necessary, but for some reason, they just don't do it. -

At the very least, I'm fairly confident that we'll see pictures of LEGO DOTS, since it's supposed to release in March, a lot earlier than Leaf. It's not a theme a lot of people will care about, but it's still something.
