[MOC] Speed Racer 2008 Mach 5 & Shooting Star
JekPorkchops replied to JekPorkchops's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for sharing those, I was aware of CADA but not that they would be doing Speed Racer sets. I might pick those up to see what they are like as I don't plan on designing the anime versions. And the official Lego sets inspired these remakes. I reused the sticker sheets as well.- 9 replies

Thanks. Which 1:24 scale sets are you talking about? I am not that familiar with other brands outside the hobby.- 9 replies

[MOC] Speed Racer 2008 Mach 5 & Shooting Star
JekPorkchops replied to JekPorkchops's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks. The stickers are actually 3rd party replicas. I have the original sets but I cannot check them right now, I don't know how similar the sheets are. Thanks, I would love to see at least the Mach 5 as an official Speed Champions set as well but I doubt that will happen. Luckily there are all these nice new parts that were introduced since the official sets in 2008 that made these MOCs possible.- 9 replies

Two MOCs of Speed Racer movie cars in the 8-wide Speed Champions scale. They are built using only legal techniques and re-use the sticker sheets of the official sets from 2008. The Mach 5 has removable sawblades and an articulating tire shield. The Shooting Star comes with three removable, articulating double machine guns. More images are available on Flickr

LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

For Baylan's hairpiece: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=98385&colorID=86&in=A I'm not a big fan of the show but I quite like all the sets so I think I'll get them when they're substantially discounted. I plan to upgrade Ahsoka with a couple of the spare curved hilts that I have, and I'll give Baylan this hairpiece along with the shoulder pads and the cape. Of course, Shin and Baylan will get trans-neon orange lightsabers (it is such a large oversight, I know this color is discontinued but they could've at least used trans-orange for them). -

Thanks. Where in the Wal-Mart would they be located? Because I don’t think they’re at the Lego or toy aisles. Or the ones I visited don’t have them. -

[MOC] – Colin Cantwell's Concept X-wing model
JekPorkchops replied to Artizan's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The new rounded Speed Champions windscreens (either 6-wide or the 4-wide one, the latter of which would require a change in scale) would work better on this model, but overall it looks great. -

It has been officially revealed and I just cannot understand how a designer fumbles with interior design this much when there's so much space available. Why is there not even a hint of something that's in the actual interior of the ship, such as the couch? It's the 2016 Rebel Combat Frigate all over again: there's so much space but there's nothing recognisable. -

The Ghost does not appear to have increased in size at all compared to the 2014 version, so the higher piece count mostly comes from the addition of the Phantom and some more exterior details. Overall I wouldn't say it's a complete improvement; it does some things better than the previous version and some things are worse. The underside is not as cleaned-up as the previous one as there is a lot of exposed Technic and the landing gear looks a bit awkward. It is a shame that the upper turret is so bulky yet cannot even rotate like before. The blatant use of inaccurate blue light for the exhausts is strange as they got it right before. However, the use of interior space seems to be much better, but not exactly accurate to what should be there on the inside. The exterior details along the top are quite nice (they even got the panels behind the cockpit angled inwards) except for the ugly top turret. Minifigures are nice for what they are I guess, I don't think I'll care about them though thanks to the current state of SW and the complete lack of excitement I now have for the Ahsoka show. Speaking of Ahsoka, it's strange that now suddenly they gave her a new mould for her headtails; it's not that necessary to make them shorter anymore as in the show they have elongated the headtails when compared to her appearance in Mandalorian. There also seems to be an overengineered feature to rotate the front turret. It is also strange how the cannons are still black like on the 2014 version and not grey, though maybe they have a different color in live-action. -

I would spend some money on a Batmobile or another vehicle from those movies with Mr Freeze and such. -

Strange though, the other Flash merch is in full swing. Ezra Miller is not The Flash, so I don't see why they'd remove his figure. I can kinda see Lego not wanting a realistic version of him on the box though, even though again, he is not the character he's playing. But they could've used generic box art or a drawn Lego figure. -

The ears on the type 2 cowl are indeed too long, but I think Lego used that cowl on the armored suit because the thick chin strap section looks more like the movie helmet, especially in silver. It would've been nice to get a dedicated mould for it though, as it really needed the short ears and a bit more angular shaping. -

The part of it that’s visible looks good except for the pain 1x1 wheel inserts and the same squared-off canopy that the GWP used.
