Hidden Side Hopes/Wishlist
Lego David replied to Fifulin's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I totally agree. Those would make for excellent Big Figs. Having them only as part of the game and story is really disappointing.- 40 replies

Thanks for sharing my MOC! I really appreciate it!

What I personally think is a LEGO community member is someone who actively follows the new LEGO-related content that comes out and interacts at least in some capacity with other members, whether that would be trough forums, conventions, social media, etc.
-
I was just wandering... Is there any way we can know approximately how many currently active people are in the LEGO community? From your experience, how many do you think there are? I personally think it's about 1 million at the very least. JANGBRICKS, one of the largest LEGO YouTubers, has about 1.19 Million subscribers. But that's just one YouTuber, and most people I know aren't even subscribed to Jang. So in total, there may be as many as 2 million (possibly even more) people currently in the LEGO community. What do you think? Does anyone know any approximate number of the LEGO community members?

As long as they are constraction-based, I think yes, it's ok the share them here.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Lego David replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I really hope the Legend of Bionicle makes it. If it does, then it would probably be the first LEGO Ideas I will ever buy. Not really interested in any of the others. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
No, it's going to have 18, half of the 36 Friends had in it's first year. -
Nexo Knights still had a lot of useful parts though, especially for LEGO Space fans, with the trans-neon-orange elements being one of the stand outs.
-
What are you talking about? Of course Leaf is a real theme. It may not be what AFOLs are hoping for, but it's still going to be a thing.
-
When do you think it's most likely to get the leaked names for the sets? That would help a lot in identifying what the theme actually is. We already know most of the names of all the upcoming 2020 sets, but not for this theme. Why is that?

This may count as an illegal building technique, but I think it's great nonetheless: If you take a tile and connect it with a stud on one side, but not fully connect it on the other side and repeat the process over and over, you will end up with a circle, which can be used for a lot of interesting builds. Here are two of mine:

When do you think it's most likely to get the first leaked pictures of the sets? I keep waiting for more news about this line but nothing comes out. LEGO really wants to keep it as secret as they can for some reason...
-
Yeah! That would be pretty cool! Constraction had so much potential, yet LEGO barely did anything with it... They really should have thought twice before discontinuing it.
-
In essence, there is nothing wrong with giving your own twist on licensed properties. But if that means giving licensed themes more priority over original themes, than no thanks. I am really sad that they keep making those Batman direct-to-DVD movies, yet they barely made any direct-to-DVD movies based on original themes.
-
Absolutely! But given the current track record of LEGO anniversaries, I doubt we will see more than one set. At best, maybe the finalized set will include a few Constraction-compatible parts, but even that I doubt we will see. If the project gets approved and becomes a real set, the best we can do is buy it, and hopefully that will convince LEGO that we still care about Bionicle.
-
After the supposed failure of Bionicle Generation 2 and the Star Wars Buildable Figures, LEGO seems to have given up on Constraction. We haven't gotten anymore Constraction sets since 2018, and most people have lost all hope and think that Constraction is dead and it will never come back. There is the upcoming "Leaf" theme and a few leaks that seem to hint at a new constraction theme coming in 2020, but that's just speculation, and nothing is confirmed (plus a few more recent leaks that say that it will actually be a Pirates theme) Do you think we will ever see constraction return? Do you think it still has market value? If it comes back, what would sets would you like to see? Share all your thoughs!

Which is made by LEGO. I really hate it when LEGO does their own fan-fictions based on licensed properties... They should save that for their original themes.

You Only Live Twice
Lego David replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
But they still hold the James Bond license though... We still got the James Bond Aston Martin. -
I absolutely agree. The sets they made this year have been a complete joke and had nothing to do with the movie they were supposedly based on. T-Rex Vs Dino-Mech, seriously? That is hands down one of the worst sets released this year, simply because it makes zero logic in the context of the movie it's based on. You are forgetting about the Jurassic World sets from the first movie (the ones from 2015). Those didn't seem to be any more successful than the Dino 2012 sets. I personally believe that with the right amount of advertising, any Dinosaur theme could be successful, regardless if it's licensed or not. And hey, if kids love Dinosaurs so much, than why not sell them separately for like 10$ or so, like with the LEGO Dinosaurs theme from 2001?

You Only Live Twice
Lego David replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think this topic is more suited for the LEGO Licensed subforum. -
I agree that it's quite plausible... What isn't in my opinion though, is all this being some sort of reboot of Castle or Pirates
-
Whatever it is, let's not put our hopes too high. Getting excited for something that isn't even confirmed often leads to disappointment. Plus, I really doubt LEGO would reboot all those themes at once, even if it's under one single theme. We would be lucky to get one new Castle or Pirates theme, but all at once? Let's be serious here. LEGO wouldn't do that.
