LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Lego David replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well yes, but even so, if the theme doesn't sell well they usually cancel the other waves, even if the sets were ready for release. -
If this is a already established theme coming back, than why have a codename? Codenames are usually for new lines, not returning ones.

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Lego David replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think this is more of a regional thing. I see a lot of people saying that Hidden Side is heavily discounted, but in my area, I would be very lucky to find it for more than 30% off. I don't know about specific areas, but I think it's safe to say that it sold decently on a global level, especially with the 2nd and 3rd waves coming soon. -
Very nice review! Seeing three separate boxes in one bigger box was probably the most interesting part for me.

Those aren't licensed, so there shouldn't be any concern about those.

Does anyone know when will the Ninjago episodes for this wave supposed to release?
-
So yeah, the rumors of Dots being some sort of Clikits reboot were true. If they have interesting pieces that I could use in my MOCs, maybe I will pick up one or two of the sets.
-
Does @Falconfan1414's post confirm anything though? Or is it just a random post that any of us could have made?
-
The whole CMF series thing has been completely messed up by all those licensed CMFs... I don't think they will do anything to celebrate the 10th anniversary unless it's licenced.
-
Did they give any details?
-
TLG actively lied to us when they said that "nothing is going to change" and "there won't be any change in the way sellers operate". That alone makes me loose all the trust I had in them.

I don't know about fan forums, but I can certainly see them go after sites like Brickset next.
-
Another interesting change is that apparently, the Bricklink website will use cookies from now on...

The Best and Worst of 2019
Lego David replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If I were to pick a favorite part introduced this year, I will definitely go with this one. I am really glad that despite CCBS's supposedly dead status, they are still giving us a few CCBS-compatible pieces with Ninjago.- 42 replies

Star Wars VS In-House Space: Which do you think is better and why?
Lego David replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I obviously know your preference, but if you gave your own two cents as to why you think one is better than the other, I would still highly appreciate. -
In my opinion, in-house Space themes will always be better than Star Wars, because of the following reasons: 1. Star Wars space ships are so bland and colorless. Most of them have colors consisting mostly of very dark colors (grey, most of the times), with few exceptions. In-house Space themes, on the other hand, have beautiful color combinations, which makes them a lot more visually appealing to me than Star Wars. 2. Star Wars just keeps recycling designs and almost never offers something new. With In-House Space, every new theme offered something completely new and unique. 3. LEGO has full creative liberty over in-house Space, while with Star Wars, they always need to make it as accurate to the films as possible. With In-House Space, LEGO can do whatever crazy creative new idea they have. Despite all this, though, Star Wars still is more popular. What is your opinion? Which do you personally prefer and why?

TLG lied to us. When they first announced the purchase, they said they won't change anything. Yet here we are now, when they supposedly have the right to delete any items sold that aren't official LEGO parts without notice. And they also say that Great Job LEGO! Your fans just lost all the trust they had in you.

Of course I did. I have seen all the movies.

Just curious, but has there been any time where LEGO actually listened to AFOL feedback and improved upon what needed improvement? I am pretty sure this happened (or still happeneds, I don't know), but I personally don't know any example of this happening. Can anyone give me examples of occasions when LEGO listened to AFOLs?
-
Well, this sounds good to me. Hopefully we will be able to watch the new Ninjago episodes more easily without waiting until they air on the Cartoon Network.

Since when are little girls attracted to Pirates? I always thought that was more of a boy's thing. Unless they make a line about female pirate protagonists, I don't see it happening. Plus, not even Elves had 14 sets in it's first year...

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Lego David replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh great... If that is the case, than Hidden Side will probably be gone within a year... -
Not necessarily.. If there are indeed new Pirates sets in 2020, then why approve the Pirate Bay set in the first place? Planning and making a new line of sets takes around 2-3 years, so if it's indeed coming, they would have considered that when they reviewed the Pirate Bay project. This leads me to believe that this will be Pirate-related, but not a traditional Pirate theme. Most likely Nexo Pirates or something like that. In that way, LEGO could have both the Pirate Bay for it's AFOL audience, and a pirate-related big bang theme for it's children audience.

We will most likely get one or two D2C sets, like we had for Ghostbusters 2016, but I doubt we will get a full line of sets. If it were a full line, we would probably have known about it already. Though having both Stranger Things and Ghostbusters on shelfs at the same time (even if it's just D2C sets) could very easily kill off Hidden Side... From what I know, Playmobil currently holds the license... So there is still a chance that it won't happen.
