  1. In the past five years or so, Classic themes such as Pirates or Castle have been almost completely absent, and we never got any reason as to why exactly they have been absent. One common theory is that they have been replaced by licensed themes such as Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean... but at this point, none of those licensed themes are on shelves either. It is generally accepted that Star Wars is the reason why there are currently no In-House Space sets in shelves... but what about Castle and Pirates? There is no licensed counterpart to compete against them now. LEGO clearly knows about the popularity of those lines... they've even said it. But if they know about the popularity of those lines, and there is no licensed counterpart to compete against... then why are they so hestiant in bringing them back? I am no market expert, but I can cleary tell that the hunger for those themes is higher now than it has probably ever been before. Bringing those themes back now could proove to be very profitable move if done right. But despite all that... there is still no sign of those lines returing in the near future (with the exception of the occasional LEGO Ideas sets) So what do you think? What do you think is the reason why LEGO doesn't bring them back, despite the seemingly good time to do so?
  2. On which day of NYTF was Hidden Side reveled last year? Maybe un Monkey Kid will be revealed on that exact same day.
  3. If it doesn't get revealed at this Toy Fair, where will it be revealed?
  4. In the same way Ultra Agents was the first theme to test the App+Physical Parts play gimmick that later became an important part of Nexo Knights, so it is believed that Hidden Side acted as an experiment to test the AR Gimmick which presumably will play an even more important role in Monkey Kid.
  5. I don't really know... I am not a big City fan.
  6. Western and Adventurers are two completely different themes. But yeah, same. Western is a classic line that never got any sort of reboot (unless you count The Lone Ranger). Just think about how awesome it would be to get an updated Fort Legoredo...
  7. Well, love it or hate it, this is the way modern LEGO Space looks. And if it will ever come back, it probably wouldn't be any different. Trust me, I love vintage space as much as you do... But personally, I would much rather have a Space theme like Space Police than no Space theme at all.
  8. That's kinda the way LEGO Space has always been though. Introduce a new subtheme that lasts for one year or two at most, and then replace it with something else. It's not that those themes weren't selling, it's just the way they were planned to play out. There isn't any reasonable evidence to suggest that lack of sales is the the reason those themes got cancelled.
  9. Sand Green is the official name of that color.
  10. Neither of the Big Bang themes so far had any actual CMF series, (with the exception of Ninjago Movie, but that's a different story) so I don't see how we should expect to get any CMF series from this theme. It's most likely going to be some sort of booster pack similar to Nexo Knights combo powers.
  11. Well, considering we are getting 4 sets that would retail for 10$ plus a booster pack, I am pretty sure this theme is indeed centered around an "obscure play feature." Most likely something that would involve an app game (possibly AR), like with Nexo Knights.
  12. I can see the argument (I am not a fan of the piece used for the neck either, even though I still love the dragon overall) , but the Vkings line had other dragons, such as The Armored Ofnir Dragon: Even though the parts used here are mostly reused from other lines such as Knight's Kingdom and Bionicle, I think it uses those parts in a really clever way. There was clearly a lot of thought and effort put in designing that dragon, even if the parts are reused. Personally, this is probably my favorite Dragon Set LEGO has ever made, period. In my opinion, this is how a LEGO Dragon should look like. This Dragon MOC uses exactly those type of parts... don't tell me you don't like the way it looks:
  13. May I ask why? I don't see how the parts used are a problem. On the contrary, the parts that came with those dragons are pretty much beloved by MOCists.
  14. I am pretty sure they'll just ignore the religious elements. I doubt we'll see anything Buddhist-related. And if they do use Buddhist elements, they would most likely just change the name of the religion with something made-up.
  15. The next Star Wars movie is supposed to come out in 2022... less then two years from now. Even if they wanted to release a new Space theme in the meantime, I doubt they would even have the time to develop the line before the next movie hits theaters. Unless Star Wars takes another extensive break (which in the Disney era, seems very unlikely) I don't think we'll be getting any new original Space Themes.
  16. As I have said before, there is no such thing as a "useless" part. All you need to do is just get more creative when using parts like this. I, for one, do like using prefab/specialized parts in my MOCs, and I don't mind the molded dragon heads. Not only that, but I think they look a lot better than Brick Built heads will ever do. Nah, the Vikings Dragons will always be the best. In my opinion, the Ninjago dragons are the ones that actually pale in comparison. Sure, there are a few good ones here and there, but most of them are just underwhelming for me.
  17. It's actually rather simple: Before the Star Wars prequels came out, we used to get new space themes every year. As soon as The Phantom Menace comes out and LEGO acquires to Star Wars license, LEGO Space takes a total break for about 6 years. After the Star Wars prequels were done, LEGO Space returns with Mars Mission in 2007, and continues with new sets every year until roughly 2014. And after that, guess what came out... The Force Awakens. And we haven't gotten any original space sets ever since. If that isn't proof that Star Wars is what's blocking the return of LEGO Space themes... then I don't know what it is.
  18. Oh, I am really excited then. Fingers crossed that the theme will finally be revealed there.
  19. When exactly will NYTF start? In like one week or something?
  20. I was hoping for the exact same thing. But even with bad movies, there are still shows like the Clone Wars or Mandalorian... And as long as those exist, Star Wars isn't going anywhere unfortunately.
  21. Be careful with such statements... A lot of people (myself included) really love those themes.
  22. I honestly am not a fan of the Ninjago dragons for a few reasons. I don't like brickbuilt heads (which most of the current Ninjago dragons use) and prefer molded heads. The Vikings and Elves dragons are my personal favorites. They have a good balance of brickbuilt and molded parts, which I really like. In my opinion , that's the way LEGO dragons should be: not 100% molded (like the Castle dragons) and not 100% brickbuilt (like the Ninjago dragons), but a combination of the two. With that said though, Smaug is still an awesome dragon mold.
  23. What do you mean? Space Police, Galaxy Squad, Mars Mission and Alien Conquest aren't genuinely good to you?
  24. I never thought I would say this, but I kinda agree. Ninjago has gotten repetitive and boring with both the sets and the story. But, kids still love it and it sells very well, so it's not going anywhere any time soon. I also agree with everything said here. Those three really need to go away, but, sadly, they are selling well, so they aren't going anywhere either. I am honestly surprised that LEGO Minecraft is still so popular... Ninjago originally stared with minor Sci-Fi elements, and only the villains had vehicles. The Ninjas only had dragons. It wouldn't be until the 2nd wave that vehicles completely took over the theme. To this day, my favorite Ninjago wave is the first one because of that.
  25. Wait, so Season 4 is literally called "From Russia with Love"?
