  1. Hadn't thought about that! I could even use the axle ones by replacing the 2L axle/pin liftarm with two halfbeam liftarms with axle holes to give better stability. I'll try that later, thanks :-)
  2. Thank you guys for the kind words, I really like this build as it came together very naturally Thanks for the constructive critique! I also tried with 12 tooth gears for the functions, but they looked too bulky. I already replaced the friction pins with non-friction ones in my test build ;-) What I didn't mention: There was no elegant way to make the front lights (see first pic) as extensions of the small LAs. Any ideas are welcome! :D
  3. Do you think the little pump will provide enough pressue when manually activated? I would have guessed you use the big pump and place it under the seat (diagonally, from lower front to upper back) and use the seat for pumping action ;-)
  4. When the tilt down of the bucket is accurate, you can make it fit while the bucket is half elevated ;-)
  5. The looks are superb! One question: I don't see any side-support for the rear suspension... is it stable enough?
  6. Good luck on your thesis! Thanks guys :D
  7. Great prototype! Was about to ask the same question, but looks like the little pneumatics can handle the weight. I am curious about your final design :-)
  8. Thanks guys, now the last parts had been ordered. Hope to finish this early, as I got a little thesis to write... if I become a doctor, can I rename myself plastic surgeon? The upper black connectors on the side of the cab join the roof with an offset of about 0.2 studs. At least in my test builds, this wasn't much of a problem, though. The dimensions (L x W x H) are 30 x 17 x 14 = 7140 cubic studs.
  9. Or just the face-ends of the hoses with colours :-) Was about to say the same thing. If it hadn't been for a big discount, I'd never bought the 42100. With the current amount of models (about 15 per year), I think Lego can please everybody and, as already been discussed, they sell well.
  10. Think we triggered this idea a few pages back ;-) Full support! Maybe piece count should be max. 25% of the original? I'd first thought about make it half the scale, but this would mean only 1/8 of the pieces, but these shrinked models would be too small.
  11. This is one of the best tipper trailers ever. The angled lines from the 3x5 panels are so cool, great job, Effe!
  12. Okay, so the same problem as with my Backhoe in this configuration, that somehow good to hear :D I used a turntable and an offset of 1/2 stud but also a axle width of just 7 instead of your 9 studs. But yours still look good, so maybe I use the 9 stud version.
  13. The truck itself is just great, the blocky appearance of the crane takes it away, imho. Have you tried to shorten the 4L half beams for the actuation of the outriggers to 3L? So maybe you can lower the whole upper structure a bit. All around the model isn't that ugly as you say, I mean it's blue!
  14. Fantastic! Looks so clean and "complete", can't put in better words :-) I'd love to see a pendular suspension on the front axle, but I guess it would interfere with the bucket arms? Are you planning to do a bigger trailer (2 axles)?
  15. Just discovered another great video showing the potential of the Vespas tires :-)
  16. Looking rock solid so far! I think in this scale, the steering doesn't need a wormgear or small LA, a small reduction with friction pins should be enough ;-)
  17. A really cool feature would be a supercar convertable like the Corvette C8: Other than that, I'd think they just refine many functions.
  18. Even if a video is attached, many vote for the look. And you can definitely do better here ;-)
  19. Detachable roof for the targa- version 😄 Maybe we'll get classic blue interior?
  20. Challenging model! But I think you should rescale, the whole middle part seems way to small. I even think this could tip over to the back :-/
  21. Thanks! In this scale, I'd had to left out the engine to do it, but I prefer this design more :-) Little update. I managed to include the engine, which is even easily changable and the front blade with all three functions. . The ripper needs to be there to counterweight the blade. The cabs original design is hard to replicate in this scale, still trying to come up for different solutions... The track works really well, even on flat surfaces. I didn't mention the easy suspension (pendular front). Here is a short video of the current version, I'll have to order some mismatched colours and missing parts
  22. Looking forward to this :-) Are you planning to cover everything up with panels or make a more basic, skeletal version?
  23. Great to see this in the contest, you gave me some ideas for my Mecalac MTX12 :D
  24. My favorite so far in this contest! Sadly, yes... some new parts come within 1 month, these parts are available for years...
  25. I'll so gonna steal your solution of the back shovel attachment :D
