  1. I kind of expect something inbetween the 42138 and the unlabeled car from the car transporter:
  2. Thanks guys :-) You mean covering the roof with tiles? This would mean another layer and making the roof even bulkier than it already is... :-/
  3. Finally managed to finish this model... it took way more iterations in the end than I thought and would have liked... :D Here are some pics: Thanks again for the idea of the fake linear actuator @Jurss & @Thirdwigg ! I just added accents onto the engine for @SaperPL :D To resume: I have mixed feelings about this. The mechanics work really nice and the overall scale and shape is to my liking BUT: I think I will not touch system bricks for the modeling of bigger assemblies in a while. I really didn't like the tinkering, finding the perfect pieces for each curve/contour/angle. It also is kind of odd, but the stability of the brick-built canopy is not that great as I hoped it would be, had to stabilize the roof further and now the technic figure wont fit... I don't see a better solution with pure technic building style for this model, but still, it somehow doesn't fit my building style. On the other hand: What I really like is the shape of the rear with just little brick build accents.
  4. True, I didn't want to shrink the effort or the talent of lego designers. The point I tried to make was that the Technic department don't have the problem of lack in manpower for making great technical models. The sales figures of cars are good, therefor lego build more technic cars.
  5. Thanks! I found Lars Krogh Jensen, he designed the 42125, together with Milan. So we have 9 designers we know of :-)
  6. Hmm I think there are around 6-8 (?) Lego technic designers. Considering 12-16 models per year means 2 models per designer. This doesn't sound like too big of a challenge. All the stuff after the real building is way more challenging, I am not sure how much they are involved in the instructions and so on... I think the market and the managers tell em what to do, not really what they would really wanted to build... then we would have many more models to the liking of more hard-core technic fans. As Jan Ryaa and Sten Schmidt left in 2021, current designers I am aware of are: - Markus Kossmann - Uwe Wabra - Milan Reindl - Samuel Tacchi - Aurelien Rouffiange
  7. Great functions in a tight space. I especially like the drivetrain of the rear wheelpairs, which just has this classic technic wibe :-) The only thing I think could be done better is the rear ripper, which just looks way to puny. I know, a grader is not a dozer, but still this thing should be bigger or the teeth should look more ... grindy :D Overall great job!
  8. Quite right, I think of basic functions of steering and tipping of the dump bed. Sadly, bigger wheels or even twin rear tire would not be possible in this scale. My bet would be on a white coloured one, like the Liebherr.
  9. Strange... I mailed them a few days ago and got an answer the following day. Still you describe exactly both features I need for my MOC.
  10. Looking forward seeing the finish model or your Fastrac :-) I am still working on my Mecalac, which just keeps changing the brickbuild cab... :-/ And 3 models are maybe to much to build parallel on. Hmm would be an interesting poll to see, on how many models you guys are building simultaniously... Don't wanna hijack this thread for it.
  11. Neither, although both would be very fitting ;-) I need em for my Torion, which will get a pneumatic Meijer Holland Rambo 6 Bale Grabber:
  12. Sadly the orange 5x7 frame is what I am waiting for...
  13. Hi guys, have a questions for Buwizz 3 or lets better say the app: Is it possible to use for example the "Button" command to rotate a PU motor a certain angle? So like implementing a stepper motor. Thanks in advance! *Edit: Oh man now I just read the post from @aFrInaTi0n above....
  14. Love the clean design on this one! And for your first MOC, this is even more impressive, great work! As I am not so educated in Trial Trucks: Are the engine swapped to the center to give better weight distribution? The hood is quite empty now :D
  15. Ah, you're right, my bad. Yes, but for many people, size does appeal. So the new Liebherr has to break the current limits for official technic sets.
  16. Again: Strange that Lego doesn't use the smaller spike prime hub... which now is strangely not even available on the webpage...? Would be perfect for small cars with drive+steering. Lego price politics at its finest: "normal" smart hub: 4 ports: 79,99€ "small" spike prime hub: 2 ports: 209,99€ "big" spike prime hub: 6 ports: 239,99€
  17. Dito. Running out of ideas? I don't think so. They just select what sells the best. I am pretty sure the designers would come up with magnificent stuff, giving them free hands. My opinion is that the focus of TLC is mainly on new costumers. So sports & racing cars are most attractive and common. As most new costumers don't know what Technic can really do, they really don't care. As long as they see a stylish gearbox or suspension, they are happy. Seems like it worked out for TLC pretty well over the last years as Technic seems one of the biggest brands: - Lego's market share is 7.6%, making them the largest toy company. - Legos data analysis reports an increase in revenue of 27% in 2021, which is an increase from kr43.7 billion to kr55.3 billion. - Lego City, Star Wars, and Technic continue to be best seller in the recent years. - Lego targets adult buyers more than in previous with an increased amount of 18+ sets. Source: https://www.lightailing.com/blogs/news/lego-latest-usage-and-revenue-statistics What I think the wrong idea of the Lego Technic sub brand is: The more the better. We sold some cars really well? More cars it is! Leaving behind the other half of the existing costumers really longing for real Technic stuff with more functions than steering and fake engines. Now enough rant and back to topic: The list of the 1st half so far is the same as in previous years. We gotta wait for the big boys in 2H. As we had the Lambo and BMW, there really should be many model more appealing :-)
  18. Ah you're right, completely forgot about this... :D Even though Sariel liked it for its complexity of building.
  19. 30655 Forklift with Pallet €3.99 January 1, 2023 42147 Dump Truck €9.99 January 1, 2023 42148 Snow Groomer €9.99 January 1, 2023 TLC technic official: "Come on! More than 300 combined pieces of FUNction! Ehm and the other models come with ehm STEERING! And ehm .. fake engines and gearboxes! Completely new stuff never done before! Look! Much Technic! Such Whoa!" *Edit: It comes to my mind, that Technic seems to rely on the community nowadays to fix the problems of certain models. It's like with some video games pumped out as beta-version of finished games and publishers rely on community MODs to finish up the selled product for free.
  20. The 42153 Ford GT is something odd. For 119,99€ it can't be 1:10 like the 42096 and 42125 but also not 1:14 like the 50-60€ cars. So seems like a new scale 1:12 with 19...21 studs width? Following questions would be: What wheel would fit? Maybe the same as 42125, but then there would be no double wishbone suspension, unless we get new CV elements? Little bit smaller than 42025, with retailled at 125€
  21. Ha! I knew it! The rest... Cars Cars Cars...
  22. How many parts does this have? Seems like a perfect pack for this scale :-)
  23. I think we can expect something like the 8259 for this, which also retailed at 9,99€, but in 2009...
  24. But strange as it's same blue colour...
  25. Hmm I thought thirdwiggs harvester had well over 1000 pcs?
