Hi guys and gals, as I'm still waiting for parts to finish my Mecalac MOC, I started building another project, I had in mind a long time ago: A Claas Torion model 1914 or 2014. In contrast to other great MOCs of wheel loaders (e.g. @effermans brilliant Liebherr) I went for a pneumatic version. The reasons are mostly due to the haystack grapper, I'd like to attach, which will be a Meijer Holland Rambo 6. So the final model will look like this: (copyright: Agrar Paparazzi from this video) I started with the rear axle, which is nice and sturdy (symetrical all the way). The technic crankshafts are limiting the suspension travel. Ground clearance is 4...5 studs all the way through. The hardest part for now has been the gearbox, enabling 4 pneumatic functions: Lift, tilt and 2 haystack grabbers. I know, the use of large linear actuators may be better and can be used simultaniously, but I'd like to see how this will turn out and needed pneumatic function for the gripper :-) Has anybody already tried building with such pneumatic gearbox? I couldn't come up with a smaller solution... All will be driven by a Buwizz 3: - 2 XL PF-Motors for drive - 1 Spike Medium Angular Motor for steering with 2 small LAs - 1 Large PU-Motor for pump - 1 Large PU-Motor for selection of pneumatic valve - 1 Large PU-Motor for activation of pneumatic valve Routing of the pneumatic hoses will be a big challenge, same goes for the p-kinematic of the arm, so called "agricultrural arrangement" with the cylinder on top. Here is the current state and my test build with mismatched colours. The new DBG pneumatic cylinders will fit perfectly here ;-) My plan is to make the outer shell in removable assemblies, so the interior can still be exposed. Really open for ideas and suggestions! :-)

Nico71's Creations

Watched the whole series. Really astonoshing model with so many clever details, and superb overall look! Mindblowing good... One thing I'd like to ask: On the front fender, why didn't a angled connector for the outer rear part like you did in the front? -
42144 - Material Handler
Jundis replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Will be full RC and 1:17ish, but it will not have a bucket ;-) New thread will come as soon as I finish the Mecalac... Back to topic: The 42144 somehow left me unimpressed. The only cool things are the DGB pneumatics and the bucket mechanism, the rest is pretty standard in every aspect: - technicality/functions: Same as 42053 - looks: Below average - parts: Only DGB pneumatics is interesting - stability: is present, but seems flimsy -
42144 - Material Handler
Jundis replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Really depends on the model. If we say black, LBG and DBG are more of secondary colours which fit everywhere, a model shouldn't have more than 2, max. 3 primary flashy colours, or it really gets messy imho. Many pneumatic models where yellow for a reason: Construction machinery. As more and more colours are available for technic, yellow pneumatic doesn't always fit. Right now, I am building a Claas Torion wheeled loader with pneumatic, just because the new cylinder are soon available in DBG. With yellow cylinders, I would have chosen another vehicle. -

Nice start and planning! You even have the clips for the cables in place, which is always a last minute thing for me :D I am really curious where this is going :-) -

You beat me again with using the zetros tires for front axle on a tractor :D One question: What is the linear actuator on the rear hitch for? Only as an movable connection point?

[MOC] Zetor 25K - vintage tractor

Great little tractor Maybe they are too small, but did you try to fit the fender extender pieces instead of flex axles? -

It looks almost too clean :D -

I gotta admit, this solution is really ingenious, because it allows free swing movement, at least along one axis. This set grows on me :-D -
The front part is insanely good recreated. The macaroni-piece really helps. Great work!

[TC22] Small Dozer
Jundis replied to Jundis's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks, guys :-) The mechanics here are really straight forward, no complicated mechanisms. -
Good move to test you assamblies ;-) Considering the size: Can you already guess the total mass of this beast?
