  1. I didn't know these comics before (shame on me) but I can tell what is an awesome space ship. And this one is wonderful. I can understand why you like it. The shape is bulky but elegant. Excellent job on the round shape. And interior too! That's amazing.
  2. I find that a great story. Love such mysteries. While the highlight indeed the balloon (great use of that rock dome) the whole landscape is done excellent. I like how you can tell whag is going on by looking at the figures.
  3. Nice technique. I like the use of cheese slopes around the figure's leg.
  4. I love that raft! That's exactly what a raft out of shipwreck pieces should look like. Super cool. And that small gunboat is also fun to look at. I love vessels which are small enough that they could have been an official pirate set of the last century. Great colour scheme also.
  5. This reminds me of some of the good ol' 80ies sets. Bot only pirates but also castle ( maybe because of Majisto's magical shop). Good job!
  6. I really like it! That style of architecture fits great into the age of sail. Cheers especially for the roof, good job. I also lile the muskets above tge door, so nobody will accidentally take this for a regular mill :))
  7. Great interior! Haha, I had to imagine a blue coat accidentally marching in and every soldier grapping for his cutlass. Nice job on the bar.
  8. Great room. I like the inclusion of those wooden supports. That makes the scene look like a cutaway drawing. Also nice job on all the details. That wooden chandelier is a great touch.
  9. Now I must say Exetrius convinced me with his point about learning by looking (and doing). Really everybody who stays here for long (including myself) improves over the time. Increasing your skills is mainly done automatically. Maybe we could talk about a tutorial thread where members who have shown special skills in serious techniques or did come up with something new are asked to write a short how to with some pics from time to time. But I think short recaps of the main story of GoH are suitable for front page. There are always post of sub themes I'm personally not interestedin, like Lego technic or trains. But they also have their right to be featured on the front page since EB is for every Lego enthusiast. And sometimes there are things I can enjoy even if they're not my interest. Remember, whenever there is a GoH build featured on front page users from other themes visit this subforum and comment, because they enjoyed the moc without being much into castle and fantasy. And I'm sure many of those people would be curious to know more about GoH to keep up in some way. Another point is that we always want new people to join the fun. And it's so hard for newbies to enough information about the lore here. This could really get people interested. Also it makes me sad that this whole story from book I slowly gets forgotten, and so the members who have added great builds and story plots in the past, just because they went inactive. People who want to join GoH and therefore the story should at least know some basics about Revolword saga and these things. In the end it wouldn't be that much effort to recap one chapter in a week in a few sentences and it would secure all this information. Maybe we can find some long time members willing to write about storyparts and then mailing it to Ecclesiastes too lessen the burden. We could call it "lore of Historica -Part xy" and then have a few words explaining what happened between two challenges.
  10. There's not always a big story behind a challenge. The first challenge ever was building a watch tower. Maybe it would be nice to have every week a different feature. Lets say one week recap of the main story, then a settlement feature etc. And then repeating this rythm
  11. Great job on the traditional headgears. Really those do look fantastic. And creative instruments. Couldn't tell if they have real world equivalents.
  12. Banana Boat... that makes me think of Bud Spencer. I would bet the first idea you had was the figurehead! Nice job. And that lantern is genius. Funny to see a Mitgardian flag. Who knows, if you sail to far, the bananas will be rotten and you arrive at Historican shores.
  13. Neat vignette. I like the use of the spider web as fishing net. Especially because you added some weights. Good sense for detail!
  14. Beautiful house! Haven't seen half timbered buildings with tan coloured wooden sections so far. Great colour scheme all in all. And the interior is small but definitely eyecatching. Could have been an advanced set of the never realised 80ies Europa Lego theme.
  15. Neat little vessel! It's not easy to make a brick built hull of such size, great work!
  16. That's a nice fort! I especially like the roof of the tower. And I enjoyed the story a lot.
  17. Neat little scene. For such a small base there is much going on. The only tiny little detail that I would have changed is turning the dish around. But that's no big deal.
  18. Saw this on flickr and wanted to leave you a comment. I really like the representation of this important craft. It's always great to see mocs depicting every day work. This really adds some life to fantasy worlds. And it is embedded in a great landscape. Would love to see more nautical crafts in BoBS.
  19. I can only second what the others already have said. Some recap of the whole main story would be incredible useful, not only for people who would like to join GoH but also for all those who have signed up at some point in book II. It don't have to be too detailed, just what happened before and after every challenge. The presentation of old outstanding builds is a fantastic idea too. Especially in combination with the story recapitulation. These mocs probably would be builds used for the prelude/ challenge story, like Z's obsidian Spike, or winning entries which decided how the story was continued. Though I like all the other ideas like building techniques tutorials and featuring members/personal stories, I'm not sure if it's too much work for every week. Maybe these things could be featured every few weeks or so instead of weekly. Which does not mean that there can't be a standard short weekly.
  20. Now that is definitely more impressivee than phase 2. The tiles look great as texture. But the detail I like the most is the window on the back with the two 1x3 arches. That's really somethingcI will remember.
  21. I guess that would be 50xp up: Shadow troopers/Storm Commandos. That's the rank were your character can be a badass special forces trooper. And Shock Troopers are for me a kind of such specialised units.
  22. Love that labyrinth style piece of art! Great room. The decoration on the table is such a typical star wars accessoire. And I enjoyed the story.
  23. Great use of those quarter cylinder pieces! Looks very imperial.
  24. Man I totally missed that Hogwarts Express vig on flickr! Now I'm glad that I've seen it here. I just want to say that I love what you're doing here. The Potterverse has become so huge over the years that it's impressive how you do your journey through it. All these vignettes are such excellent depictions of all the iconic scenes. Thank you for bringing back all these memories.
  25. Great idea with the Jestro face. This is truly an abomination. And that's a compliment! Good work!
