Winners Annouced! Corrington vs. Carno Build-off
Jacob Nion replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Final of Carno's team effort: A Matter Of The Heart -
After many delicate diplomatic complications, the trial in the case Corrington vs. Carno finally begins. Corringtons course will be represented by colonel Frederik Brunswick, while Captain Whoknowswho made the decision to speak for himself… The trial may now begin. The honorable judge Durpin presiding. Sit down. The jury is constituted of seven indipendent and trustworthy jurors. A simple majority suffices for a capable verdict. We shall now hear the representative of Corrington. Col. Grunzwick. Brunswick, your honour. In my explanation I will begin with a detailed report of the events leading to the illegal capture of the HMS Bullshark, followed by a short but also detailed sketch of the common history of Carno and Corrington, a comparison of Corlandish and Carnorian naval law... *yawn* Alright, alright, we understood. Would you please begin now? Oh- of course, as you wish. I will begin with an analysis of the.... Objection! His stick is too short! What?! Sustained. What's the point of that?! The point is your pointer, Colonel. The statutes of evidence and documentation from the court protocol of 528, section XXI clearly state that every tool of demonstration utilized as a pointer must at least have a length of 13 inches. Your pointer is hardly 8 inches long. But if you wish, the court usher will measure it and compare it's length to an average gauged Carnonian pointer. That...won't be necessary. I can do the presentation without pointer. Objection! Sustained. The submission of graphic evidences without gauged pointer is invalid, as stated in the statutes about proper submission of evidences from 598, section... This is ridiculous! Order! Colonel Gousewick, I do not know what manners are common in Corlandish court rooms, but in Carno we learn and follow the laws of other nations, if we intend to accuse them. I was...I am sorry, your honour. I lost my temper for a moment. You better find it again! We will now hear the pleading of Captain Christian Whoknowswho. Your honour! I humbly thank you. Jurymen and -women! Good people of Carno! You all know me, I am a simple man, loyal to our beloved fatherly king, who gave me...the letter of marque! Ah yes, I see. This seems to be accurate. Does the jury need any more evidences? No, your honour. Every child in Carno knows about the honesty of Captain Whoknowswho. Objection! He did not explain anything! What's going on here? Overruled! You are losing your temper again, Corporal Bouncewick. Colonel! Colonel Bouncewick! And it's Brunswick! I demand an explanation of the reason for this illegitimate attack on our fleet! *sigh* fine. Captain Whoknowswho, we all know how short your time is, defending our proud nation. Would you please tell us more details about your heroic adventures? I will, your honour. I will tell you about a great injustice. The unjust fate of a loving heart! The heart of our king! Broken by Queen Annetta of Corrington. What are you talking about?? Sshhhhhhh! I love that story! As you all know, our dear king heard rumours of the fabulous beauty of this queen. And it made his heart bleeding. He was in such desire to finally find his luck he was searching for so long now. It made him sick. My poor king! The man who was like a father to me! How sad! Poor man. Tis the only evidence that matters. Please read the engraving. "Ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low enough to keep me from getting to you, babe" Ha, I love that chanty. How cute our king is! And captain Whoknowswho. Good people, you know our king. His lack of higher parlance he offsets with his wide heart. Simple but honest, a good man, our king. What does this all have to do with attacking our ship? You stole directly from our royal fleet, and therefore from the Queen herself! Like your queen stole the love of our king, only to break his poor heart... I am not sure if he will ever recover from this tragedy... I - don't - care! Give us our ship back! How stonehearted you are! What is a stupid ship against true love? But how should one rough man like you know about? And his moustache is hideous! Sustained. ...Objection? Overruled! Court Usher, quote the statement about Colonel Prutzwitz' moustache. I may will prepare a group action against it. Aye, your honour. That's enough! Stop it! Fiddlesticks! This whole trial is a farce. I demand a serious explanation for your action, you inflated baboon! You don't have an reasonable evidence to justify your piracy! Colonel! That's enough. Your harassments have last long enough now. I impose a fine of 50 doubloons against you. Captain Whoknowswho, you were interrupted. Any more evidences, even if they are unnecessary now? Only one, your honour. Please look at this scar that I took from the battle. It may will distort my mortal hull for the rest of my life, but I do not regret fighting for my heart broken king! Impressive! How brave you are! Wonderful! Aaaaah! You wanna see scars? I've been in battles since age of thirteen! That goofy chimp wasn't even born then. Oh yeah, you like that?! Look closer! That's a man fighting his age! Disgusting! Inappropriate! Sad angry old man. Corporal Bulkwing! I demand you! Redeem us from this disgraceful sight, will you! The jury will now withdraw and consult. Court Usher! Help the colonel back in his uniform, for our own sake! The jury adjudges Queen Annetta, Colonel Brunswick, and every Corlander, but particularly Colonel Brunswick guilty of being stone hearted, insensitive and mean. Captain Whoknowswho shall keep that boat. But we demand to have it renamed. "Bullshark", urgh, how rough and ugly. What about HMS "Eternal Love"? You've got me. I'm ready to cry. Objection! Sustained. Colonel, take care of your temper!

Did you edit the sheet? These data seem to be more accurate, but it still doesn't match what's in my calculations. My result, including the free builds and mrca from may would be 39, perhaps -6 mainenance for the platoon I raised in may but I'm not sure if that will be substracted at the beginning or end of a month.

I wonder why my mine are in brackets? Also, the date seem to not include all of my actions.

The Naval Licensing and Prize Court
Jacob Nion replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Of course. That shall not be a problem. One last question. Let's say I depict a harbour scene where additional cannons are stored aboard the ship, could I license this scene also as property or does the moc has to serve only the purpose of showing the upgrading? -

Jacob Nion replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Under my special sea rat conditions that would make 35 DB difference, wouldn't it? (5LA -30%=280) - (5HA -30%=315) = 35DB difference. -
Do I assume right that Sea Rats also pay 25 DB prospection costs but only 50% of the set up costs?

The Naval Licensing and Prize Court
Jacob Nion replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Dear sir investigator, The Queen Annetta's Revenge from the point of the jibboom to the stern lanterns is completely constructed by myself. She was never owned by anyone other than me, and she set sail to her maidenvoyage two days ago. The fund for the licence is completely my own investment. Best regards, Captain B. Morgan. -
The Naval Licensing and Prize Court
Jacob Nion replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
To the most honourable licensing court: My request is to up license my 5LA galleon, the Queen Annetta's Revenge to a 5HA vessel. Given the size and rigging it is my opinion that she is slightly slower but bulkier than what a 5LA vessel is supposed to be. I ask for your evaluation if any upgrades are demanded for the uplicensing. In my opinion the most reasonable upgrade in thiscase would be the addition of a few cannons. The deck would easily offer enough space for two more guns without any reconstruction nessecary. This would result in a total amount of 18 guns. Please let me know your counsel as soon as possible so that I can upgrade her before the next MRCA, provided that she survives the current run. Yours, Captain Benjamin Morgan. -
That is a wonderful lore you've written for the tree. And it really add something unique to GoH. Something truly mythical that deepens the background of this world. I really like that you chose a first person narrator. That's very suitable, and can not be read often here. And about the build itself, it's a gorgeous tree. The ball joints are a fantastic choice for the shaping of the branches, and being so consequent to only use those instead of mixing them with reddish brown really pays off. I'm just not sure how to interpret the eyes laying around. Not that it wouldn't be an ordinary sight in Historica.

"I regret the decision of the lord governour. But I must obey my orders." said the Mardieran captain. "And this, captain Alfonso, is only one reason for me to take orders from no man other than myself. But I do not blame you for this misery." Benjamin Morgan took a last look at his very first ship, the warbringer. The Mardieran governour had decided to take every ship as a prize his privateers could find. Even if it was the ship of the man who had won him a court case against Eslandola. "Please, as a reward for your service and an apology- though inofficial- take this nautilus trophy. It is said that such masterful crafted pieces of art bring good fortune to a captain and his ship. May we meet again once, hopefully under friendlier circumstances." _____________________________________________________ Phew! A quick last minute scrap to save me the ten doubloons. Arrrr me gooold!

[SR - FB2] The Queen Annetta's Revenge
Jacob Nion replied to Jacob Nion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Pics resized, a few added. Thanks very much! Thank you Captain. Glad to hear you like it. The stern piece is a sticker from the Hobbit set Goblin King battle and easily my favourite sticker that I love to use over and over again. Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm glad that I not only finished the ship in time, but also that nobody else claimed that ship name before me. I actually had that one in mind since I first read the introduction of BoBS. So yes, for me it's surprising that no one else had figured it out all the time Ahoy! Thanks Kai. I spent a whole building day on different lantern design, so I'm glad you like them.- 19 replies

Without further ado, I may present you Captain Morgan's new flagship, the infamous and fearsome Queen Annetta's Revenge! The name is a subtly reminiscence to the time when Captain Morgan served in the Royal Navy of her majesty, Annetta Queen of Corrington. It is a class 5LA galleon and so far my largest ship. Pics are linked to larger resolutions. The Figurehead is a crowned harpy with an accidental resemblance to a young female sovereign of Halos. As mentioned, accidental. Thanks for visiting my ship!

[OL - FB] The Turgut, 4A Xebec
Jacob Nion replied to Capn Frank's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That is a beautiful vessel! The shapel is superb. The sleek hull along with the angled poopdeck and the pointed bow are fanzastic and make this a very believable xebec. The mediterranian feel of the ship is supported by the well selected crew. I didn't know that New Oleon has such a cultural background. Good to know, now I have an explanation for my more exotic crew men. -
[SR - FB1] The Amaranth Angel
Jacob Nion replied to Jacob Nion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I'm sorry about that. The ship is already dusable since I needed the parts for a different project. Besides the two headsails there is (was) a large gaff sail without boom. -
While the fate of the Warbringer and Benjamin Morgan is still unknown, the Amaranth Angel under the command of Red Sally still roams the Sea of Thieves. The small sloop is excellent equiped for all kinds of adventures. This is my new free licensed ship, supposed to be a class 2WR. Thanks for looking!

About the settlement level, that's true; only the total number of licensed properties counts.

So do troops on vessels work as increasing modifier for boarding action? And does this work for the coming MRCA? Aaaaaand how can we dismiss troops we don't need anymore?

The Battle for the Grand Duchy of Prio
Jacob Nion replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lolius is a privateer of the governour of Terraversa, and that governour is in the same position as the duke Prio: fighting for their indipendence from Mardier. Somy guess is it's against the king of Mardier and the motherland. -
[ESL –FB] Class 4T2 Far Horizon
Jacob Nion replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I'm always a fan of playable design. That keeps the spirit of the Lego pirates line alive. And since BoBS takes place in a fantasy world after all I don't why we should be obliged to historical accuracy. In lego scale I think this vessel is large enough to be suitable for a steering wheel. The ship itself is wonderful to look at. While it's not as impressive as the Heart of Eslandia, I really like that it looks like an escort ship of the larger galleon. Together they must be an impressive appearance. The brick built Eslandola emblem on the stern is fantastic.
