I can't not comment on a Bab5 piece. I know it's old and only dredged up by the suspicious posts above mine. This is really great, have you done anything else with it over the years?

Slope piece is still used for minifigure dresses...?
Juxtapoisson replied to MattedBricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Broadly, yes. But the wedge stands in for plain dresses as well as fancy ball dresses. The shape and action of the leg is more obvious in simpler lighter dresses. And there's no reason such a piece couldn't have the shoes sticking out anyway. Most dresses don't touch the ground anymore.- 42 replies

I'm a fan of lights (1x1 flats. in translucent colours).

Awesome. I hope Lambda doesn't find this too personal, but I'd like to see the belly and the underside of the hatch.

This is gorgeous. Is that off-black (charcoal) of the border pieces their real colour? Post production effect? Coincidence of the photography? Just my monitor?

This is excellent. I have a soft spot for "realistic" space navy designs.

[MOC] Some aliens and truths - Lego Ideas "moments in space"
Juxtapoisson replied to Versteinert's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
The lunar module is great! Too bad about that. That's the Lego die piece, right? Does that ever show up in sets as a piece, or is it really only ever the die? -
This is wonderful. My original moon plates are in such rough shape...

Slope piece is still used for minifigure dresses...?
Juxtapoisson replied to MattedBricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I HOPED it would, that's not quite the same thing. /wink I guess I would like to see a skirt/dress bottom that uses a normal lego waist and the tent would just be on the leg pieces. It wouldn't look as nice, but it would do better action shots. It still may not allow sitting.- 42 replies

For certain. I just had literally no idea what was behind those parts. They could have been anything. Instead of 2X1 bricks they could have been 2X2 bricks, wedges, or stud faced, or I don't know what. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

In Memoriam: Remembering Nexo Knights
Juxtapoisson replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm an adult returning to lego. It's only been in 2018 that I'd even noticed the existence of this line. Classically I always loved a castle/space mash up. It's sort of exciting and sort of disappointing for lego to do it. There were a lot of parts and ideas that I loved. And the "bad guys" were for the most part amazing. I found the "good guys" to be kinda iffy. Some combination of vague and over the top. The line gives me a warm feeling, but I don't see myself ever buying a set from this line, with the possible exception of getting the "bad guys". -
This makes me happy.

The details are amazing. I am personally fond of the magnifier on the clip. But, I'm an entomologist. Is that a mortar and pestle in the back above the locked drawer?

That's really impressive. I like the way you've worked with the 8 brick wide layout (plus mirrors). On the right rear quarter panel (is it even called that on a bus?) there are two; two wide white bricks instead of a two wide two tall singe white brick. Is there a structural reason for that? Does the real bus have a panel there? I can't quite see what's going on inside at that point, so I don't know.

These are all wonderful, and the new ones are wicked wonderful. I like the hectic/complicated imagery that the new plates create. Just like being down town "I don't know what all these lines mean!". The style is great. I think the cartoonish realism is perfect for lego. There was mention of lamination. Did you try that? I am concerned about the glare in photography that would cause. The modular nature is nice. My inclination would be to print long roads on a plotter/poster printer. But I work in academia, so I'm used to having plotters as a problem solving tool. (The plotter paper would not last very long). My wife and I struggle in purist/not ways. I think these are an amazing level of quality for a not purist situation. Did you print the black? Or did you print on black?

Desert is a strong word. It's dry scrub-land, irrigated from the large rivers. But I am from New Hampshire, so it's all desert to me. WA has a reputation for being super rainy. But that's only West of the Cascades (e.g. the coast). The Cascades form a rain shadow across the rest of the state and it's really dry. This is an oversimplification of course.
