  1. Ah-Ha, now I finally know what people are talking about when they say blue tack. I actually use that stuff quite often for non Lego things.
  2. Isn't that just a sticker?
  3. That's kinda funny, I called it a 67' after looking at that picture on the previous page. Had no idea it was a 68'. Thanks for the heads-up.
  4. I found the hovercraft to be quite comical, the way the fan motors wobble and fail to point in the same direction, when you are pushing it. Like the heads on bobble head dolls. Also even though the blades are counter rotational, because of the prop pitch they work against each other. Enough nit-picking though, I do like this set and it makes a great parts pack for panels. Thanks for the great review as well.
  5. Well if you wrap them with some black vinyl tape, they get much less traction. Great for drifting.
  6. Okay did some further research, not that anyone really cares, I think this is a case of a new mould for this piece. I managed to find one of these in my part collection, the Lego logo is parallel to the length and it does not match up to the curved plate with hinge. Making this apparently older version undesirable to me. The other version has the perpendicular logo and does match up with the curved panel on the space shuttle. I stated just the opposite in my previous post, sorry for creating confusion over this. So I think the second one is a new mould and I'm glad they changed it, so it matches other parts.
  7. Yes that is the piece. I really would like to hear from other people, who have bought set 31071, if they have noticed the same difference, or did I just get lucky and get a one off set. The thing that strikes me really strange about it, is how the word Lego on the studs are oriented parallel to the length axis of the oddball pieces. Where as on the proper ones they are oriented perpendicular to the length axis, as with most every other Lego piece I've seen. Thanks for that link @Tron Of Black
  8. Not sure if it would help or be what your thinking of but there is also a 2x6 plate that often goes with those ladder pieces allowing it to slide and actually lock at different positions. Might be 2x8 don't really remember.
  9. Not trying to make light of this situation, it is definitely a scourge that is apparently running rampant throughout all aspects of our society today and should be handily dealt with. So just wondering @Splat what should all involved parties do to rectify the situation, what would be acceptable to you.
  10. Really liking this Mustang, as my first car was a 66' Mustang. I always wanted the 67' fastback though they were hard to find. Surprisingly good off-roader in the Arizona desert.
  11. Good thing about 75145 is it can be found all over for clearance prices and it does make a good parts pack if nothing else, especially black parts.
  12. Well it's not any of those pieces, I guess I am not explaining it well enough, sorry. It's more a bow arch and the difference is on the outside, making impossible to use them next to each other even though they have the same part number 4581717. Anyway apparently this is totally acceptable and should even be expected occasionally. Makes me rethink quality claims of Lego parts. Really need to learn how to post pictures and thanks everyone for setting me straight on this. I am going to go build something now. Edit To add further insult to injury, two of them line up perfect with the curved hinge panels from set 31066 Space Shuttle Explorer and two do not.
  13. Just seems strange there would be two different in one new set, also these are the curved top arches two bricks high, not those. I do understand there are slight changes in moulds over the years, it just doesn't make sense to put two new ones and two old ones in the same, small 109 piece set.
  14. Me too, surprisingly good sets as well, I'm sure glad I picked them up as I was going to skip them.
  15. Just obtained Creator set 31071 Drone Explorer. According to the parts list it comes with 4 white arches part number 4581717, 1x6 arch two bricks high. However under close examination two of them are different, the curved part is stepped up slightly, like 1mm. Also the flat part on top with the two studs is slightly longer and the lettering runs parallel with the length instead of the usual perpendicular direction. Other than that they are identical in every way. So are these defective or just from a different/new mould? It seems strange that there would be such a difference in one set, I could see this happening from two different sets years apart. I find it more than just a minor annoyance, as I bought this set specifically to get these parts and it is very noticeable when they are placed next to one another. Anyway just wondering if anyone else has this set and also has the same issue or it's just a one off anomaly.
  16. Something else you can use beside foil or solder, is a rear window defogger repair kit. You can pick one up at most auto parts shops. It's like fingernail polish with metal bits in it. I have used it before to repair circuit boards. Sometimes you need to use several layers, it does work very well though. Doesn't damage the board and makes good contact.
  17. This was the last set I bought, which completes my 2018 1H sets except for the pullback racers and the Mack truck. Might get the truck eventually just don't care for the trailer and I have plenty of pullback motors. Surprisingly this was my favorite set. Great part selection, fun build probably even pick up a second set at some point. Good review, thanks, its good to see some of these 1H reviews finally coming out.
  18. Oh my, please excuse my stupid question, just wondering what set those dbg pieces you are using for differentials came from? I have not been building with Lego for long so there are many elements I am unfamiliar with. Anyway I would say that's a good start, could use some refinement and strengthening though. Seems a bit unfinished and weak, by the looks of things. Might even start a wip thread, since it is more a C model, than actual set mod.
  19. I just mean to say it is very large, as have others, that is good, I really like large builds. Sorry for any confusion I may have created. This groomer is coming along nicely, with the addition of the attachments. I am starting to like it more, keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the final video of it in action, hopefully there will still be some fresh snow around. Just wondering what function the turntable will have, will it be for cab rotation or some kind of crane attachment?
  20. Congratulations, you have succeeded. I am now literally beating my head against a brick wall.
  21. Well in that link, the first chopper clearly states and even shows a picture, "not original rotor piece". That just means it's not the one that came with the set "originally". It is still official Lego. As far as Brinklink being approved by Lego, it matters not, the sets and pieces are in fact %99.9 official Lego. So I'm not quite sure I understand your dilemma, if someone buys Lego and then chooses to sell same said Lego, why should it matter if TLG approves? And just to be clear, Lepin is not a clone brand. They are a bootleg ripoff company, they steal designs from Lego and even MOCers. Therefore discussion is forbidden as per site guidelines, that you agreed to abide by when you signed up.
  22. Brinklink are a group of private sellers offering nearly every product Lego ever made. Worth checking out for sure and most are quite trustworthy, oftentimes you can buy pieces cheaper than Lego themselves sell it for. Definitely worth checking out.
