  1. Very well stated @Scarilian It's a shame such a much anticipated set like this is received by 90% of the potential customers questioning the price point. Regardless of any explanations for such a high price, I will not be getting this set, in my eyes that price is nothing less than ludicrous. I may have considered it if it actually looked a little better though. Fortunately there are plenty of other great sets to choose from at more reasonable prices. This does seem to be an alarming trend with the licensed sets going forward though, one of the reasons I didn't get any Star Wars sets last wave or coming up. I do understand plenty of people will still get it but I have to draw the line somewhere, such a shame. Please understand also this just my opinion, I need no justification to buy it, for those that do, enjoy. Edit; it's like this should be $19.99, okay it is an Ideas set $24.99, and licensed okay $29.99, what $34.99 no thanks.
  2. If you are using Android try clearing Google cache. I was having issues after the update and this worked for me.
  3. First off, thanks for yet another quality, review, I much prefer this type of proper review, although I seem to be in a quickly dwindling minority. They are getting harder to find and I appreciate the time you spent making it. A lot of people don't seem to like that rudder above the water line. To me it just represents a portion of the rudder, the rest obviously below the water line same as the keel. Sure they could have including both, probably at the expense of any sort of play feature, making a great display set. Personally I like this set and catch myself playing with it every now and then, when I dust my Lego display off. It's one of those sets I want to buy a second one for the good parts, although I have no use for the sails.
  4. I always use my teeth brush before the feet powder too.
  5. Isn't that actually a difference of only, 0.04? I can't imagine the very slight weight difference would be enough to significantly increase the strength of the heavier one either. Although it does seem some colors have a higher failure rate. It's good to see various theorys proved and disproved still. Keep up the experiments.
  6. Amazingly massive build, awesome, did a mountaineer fall off the rock face after witnessing the UFO creating those crop circles?
  7. Alright, after a little research, I have to admit 42080 isn't as ridiculous looking as I first thought. There is in fact quite a few forest harvesters built in this style, same with the ones I am more familiar with. Sorry if I riled anyone with my uneducated opinion. However now I have been inspired to create my own harvester, probably start with the Volvo EW160E as my parts base. Thanks for all the insightful responses.
  8. I think that Lego is trying to move forward with their heavy equipment designs, with a more modernized, smaller more nimble look, as realized in the modern world. While I seem to be stuck in the last century, with large brutish heavy equipment, that just overcomes obstacles with brute force. The stuff I grew up with in other words. Of course this is a good thing, after all they can't just keep making the same stuff over and over. I do look forward to seeing and building this newer more modern wave of Technic sets.
  9. Crazy man, as a carpenter by trade, I have so many of these battery packs laying around. As a fat old man though I am to chicken to try it, can't run very fast.
  10. Okay, that makes sense then, out of scale. I still think it looks ridiculous with eight tiny tires instead of four huge ones. Not really seen many of those machines though, outside of a few lumberjack shows. They all seem to have huge tractor like tires. Again, I might think differently once we see more images. Yes it definitely does not use 42054 wheels. Yes we wouldn't want another 42070 fiasco.
  11. Yet I can go to the Dollar Store and buy merchandise for 99 cents, that comes all the way from China and they still turn a profit, crazy.
  12. Sorry, I guess I don't understand, the Claas wheels are in production and are currently being used in other sets, so why would it be more economical for them to use the balloon tires, if I as the end user are paying for them.
  13. Just seems like it would be a perfect candidate for the Claas wheels as well, which I need.
  14. Oops, sorry for spreading misinformation.
  15. Have to say, from what I've seen, don't care much for 42080 either and I generally like most sets. Has the wrong tires, rather smallish, I think instead of eight small tires, it should have 4 larger ones. The engine compartment seems too flat and overly large. The whole attachment arm seems unwieldy and doesn't appear to have much reach. Hopefully it looks better once we get more images. I was really looking forward to this one, so I hope my opinion changes.
  16. Well in this instance the part doesn't exist in the models predominant color, so
  17. I understand what you're peeve is but that is a bad example, since it only comes in 3 colours anyway light blue, tan and black. Apparently they had a bunch in light blue laying around. As small as those parts are and as few as there are, it doesn't bother me that much, though I'd rather have the black ones. Actually think it might be sand blue, starting to get quite a few in my collection of that colour, happily.
  18. Received an extra dbg chain 16 long in set 60183 Heavy Cargo Transport, not in the part inventory. Quite desirable piece for me.
  19. I really like the way this is coming together, it's cool how you make it seem like the work is taking place in a actual ship yard, dig it. Impressive progress as well, surprisingly quick, can't wait to see more updates of the build process.
  20. I get it man, just think if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. Sometimes for me it's best to take a break and work on something else for a couple days, then come back with some fresh ideas. Glad to see you sticking with it, even if it doesn't turn out as great as you'd hoped for. Looking forward to seeing it finished, brick on.
  21. Fantastic build, I especially like the way the axles are supported on both sides of the tires. Oh what fun that thing would be to operate, I also wouldn't mind seeing the remote control setup. Well done.
  22. Agreed Boy that is random, I've not seen one like that, even though they are rarely totally without some sort of anomaly.
  23. Same set that brought me out of my dark age, I only have 80,000 pieces though and I thought that was excessive. Hats off to you, I'd better go buy some Lego now, must have Mack truck.
  24. Looking around at all my built sets on display from many themes, Star Wars, Ninjago, City, Speed Champions, Creator, Marvel Super Heros, DC, Lego Batman Movie, Technic and others, the dozen or so Nexo Knights sets I have are all disassembled and in parts bins. Not one single set or part of a set built or on display, I guess that sums up how I feel about the theme, just doesn't exist for me. Some good parts and colors came out from NK, however now I have a bunch of minifigs to unload. The line will not be missed by me at all and I look forward to its replacement. Edit; Actually the more I think about it, I would like for it to stick around awhile longer. It's often a great parts pack, especially orange and green trans clear pieces of unusual shapes, loads of black and grey pieces in not so common shapes and also some Technic elements. Add in the fact part count wise they are a good value and are often on discount as well, and it's not so bad. The funny thing is, years from now people will say, "I wish they would bring back Nexo Knights, that was a great theme, I don't see why they didn't do more things with it".
  25. I bought mine mostly for parts, I need panels, this set has some good ones in yellow and dark azure as well as lift arms. Add in a half dozen gears and a few common useful elements, I think it is a good parts pack. Admittedly though, I built mine several months ago, and have yet to disassemble it. I guess I just like pushing it around, the way it wobbles, the kid in me. Plus I think it looks pretty good too. Look for the Ice Tank poly bag, there's like 30 links in each bag. Sorry for posting off topic in an ancient thread, just thought someone would find this info helpful.
