  1. Good grief, I had to stop watching after 1:34 minutes, has that poor soul never opened a LEGO box before. I really have never got the fascination that some people have of watching a video of someone unboxing things, oh well to each their own. I usually just cut the tape and fold back the flaps. I really appreciate the level of detail in the engine compartment and think this may be one of my all-time favorite Creator Expert cars, of course I am biased though as I stated in my previous post.
  2. Since my first car was a 66' blue Mustang although not exactly the same as this one it's close enough though, this is a day one must buy for me. I know this has been mentioned but steered front wheels on a Creator car, if so right on, it's one of the little things that has always bothered me about the Creator Expert vehicles.
  3. Looks like a great, uh, parts pack.
  4. Seems to me that Ninjago will not be around much longer either totally revamped into something completely different or just done away with altogether. Does anyone else see it this way or am I just too much a conspiracy theorist? I feel this way because of the recent sets, the upcoming show and the article over on Brickfan. I would be sad to see it go as it gave us many great sets and parts packs.
  5. My understanding from reading about it is that the game advances doesn't play the same over and over, also more content will be added after release and on a continual basis.
  6. I will be watching this thread with interest as I live in Indy and am a Indycar fan. I tried doing one of these last year and finally just gave up, I couldn't get that narrow pointy front end worked out right and I was just going for a simply model, yours seems to be slightly more ambitious. When I got done it looked more like a fair representation of an F-1 car, though not any one specific. Wish you luck and will stay tuned.
  7. Yep I was going to skip that set, it was one of the few that just doesn't appeal to me, I saw it at Target on sale though for $14.99 so I grabbed it and I am glad I did. It has some good parts that I needed and was the first set I got with the new Bat accessories (gold), so for me anyway it turned out to be a pretty good set. I think it has many useful pieces and I wanted the dog, so to me it was a good set. You do realize other people might actually like some of these sets you don't right?
  8. Jack and Parker I believe. From what I have seen I think this theme is going to be hugely popular, the way the video part interacts with the physical build could be great, only time will tell of course but I am betting on fantastic. I am not really interested in all the sets although they sound like they will be good, given the piece counts. Hands down the train is the one I look forward to the most, followed by the graveyard and lab. Not really interested in the school or bus although they look equally well done. Prices seem fairly reasonable too, I really think we are on the eve of a real game changer here in terms of popularity, trying not to get overly excited though.
  9. You can also edit your post and erase everything, then type in the reason for editing.
  10. I also agree and do my mocs the same way, it is also why I rarely moc buildings or houses as I build them everyday at my job.
  11. I very much like this model as well, looks great, the only thing I would improve on is maybe slightly larger tires on the trailer. I think you can only improve on something if it is already there, otherwise you would be adding it.
  12. Cool I was thinking also maybe use a large turntable with gears on friction pins in the center, to help support the weight and supply friction so it doesn't spin too easily.
  13. Darn it, this set was going to be a pass for me until I read your review, thanks a lot. I don't really care for the dragon but what the hey, I have the green one and the red one which I feel is magnificent, so now one more. I would like to get the blue one as well, I feel however I really need those minifigures, especially the golden ninja and of course I could always use more stone soldiers.
  14. Good job recreating the trailer portion, we have a few of those around here and they are amazing to watch in action. I have even thought of doing one myself but yours is so great I may just build it. I guess it's time to ante up and buy a second Mack Anthem set. Thanks for showing this well done MOC.
  15. I think that making GBC sets from existing sets is a great idea, especially for a beginner like me and seeing this review makes me want to try it out. Thanks for this insightful review, one question though, are the balls the same ones that usually come with a LEGO ball shooter, I did see that you mentioned using bearing balls, just wondering if I can use what I already have. I do want to try some of these out I am just afraid I will like them too much.
  16. Exactly the point I was trying to make a few pages back, I must say though you did a much better job of it. Does it prevent me from wanting this set though? Definitely not, in fact my piggy bank for this set is up to $45. It is something to think about though and one of the reasons I hope for some sort of dedicated remote in the future.
  17. All this discussion reminds me of games we would play as children decades ago, war was one of the more popular games we would play, running around the neighborhood making gun noises and yelling, your dead your dead, I shot you first lay down. For the record I do not own a gun, I have never killed anyone and I am not a criminal.
  18. You might be able to adapt the curved roller coaster track as well or even bigger, train track.
  19. Now that's funny, those machines don't load a bucket of dirt then drive over to a dump truck, in fact they move very slowly and rarely over any sort of terrain, also they generally get built on site and remain there for their entire usable existence.
  20. I build painfully slow, so much so that occasionally I make little side builds out of the parts from the set I am currently building, just to see how different pieces can be assembled. Not really a whole different MOC, just sticking a few parts together. I do though on occasion however buy small sets just for parts. I usually speed build them then tear them down and bin the parts.
  21. I ended up getting this, mostly for the panels and tires. I get the feeling the designer was told to create a truck with as few pieces as possible. It does resemble a truck albeit a very flat one. I understand that the pullback sets are not generally a good bargain but even at a discount this one is just plain ridiculously overpriced.
  22. I may be interested, what part of the world do you reside?
  23. I don't understand why people seem to worry so much about something that may or may not happen in the future, as far as LEGO themes are concerned anyway. Surely there will be many more original action adventure themes in the future, either before or after Ninjago finishes its run. Seems pointless to make an issue out of it.
  24. I often use it to mount wheels onto, where the tire would rub against a 3 L beam with 2 pins.
  25. I always thought that the UCS sets were meant more for display than play, I mean can you imagine a child swooshing the Millennium Falcon around the room, I guess that's just me though. I figure the smaller ones are for play, which there is no shortage of.
