  1. @trinitechnic $299.99 USD it will definitely still be around in April and probably for at least another year or two even. Why didn't they tell somebody?
  2. Ha, I thought everyone else did just the opposite. I did like that set as well, I enjoy getting those little track side builds, I plan on putting them all together for a race track display in the future. @Holodoc Did you have problems with those stupid rubber bands that hold the spare tires on top, they look great on your set. With mine it was all I could do to even get them to stay on, in fact I had to angle them slightly but still if I even look at the car the tires just pop right off. Can't for the life of me see anything I did wrong.
  3. That really sucks, after only 1.5 years, damn. I worry about my stickers as well to the point of obsession to be honest. I guess I have been lucky so far, although I have only been doing this about 3 years now. None of mine are degrading, so far, I do take special care when applying them though. I usually clean the part first, with a soft microfiber cloth and make sure my hands are clean enough for surgery, then once they are on I burnish them thoroughly. Then only ones I have issues with are the ones I have reapplied multiple times, some of the corners are peeling up. I think if I were you I would pick up an extra sticker sheet, while they are still available, reasonably cheap. Curious if the sheet was mangled or somehow not right to begin with. I have had issues in that department, in fact the stickers for my 42096 Porchse had a scribe mark across the whole sheet almost to the point of being cut all the way through.
  4. Thanks, can't believe I missed that.
  5. Very cool, I am particularly digging the way you did the Venetian blinds.
  6. That does look good and is something I would like to do, what set do those disc pieces originate from?
  7. What a splendidly well thought out creation, it is simply a fantastic model. When I grow up I want to be able to make such things. I actually took a bunch of pictures of one of these in action, the workers thought I was some kind of lunatic, unfortunately it just overwhelmed me and I had to give up, for now. Well done glad to see it finished, I have been following this thread for quite some time and thanks for showing it.
  8. To me it was a good review a couple of minor things wrong, doesn't make the whole review full of nonsense. Reviews are opinions of one person and because I don't agree with everything doesn't make it a bad review either. I didn't agree with everything and made my point as to what I thought. It would be nice if others could do the same. Don't be bothered by it @Holodoc it was a great review and I look forward to seeing more from you, thanks again for taking the time. I think if you are going to slam someone's review, you should back it up with one of your own.
  9. It is good to see you are getting support for this excellent creation. Is this one the same as the one in your other threads or have you modified it some?
  10. Well at least we know where all the brown mast rigging pieces went. It is good to see the parts are weathering well, would be great to find some of those pieces in pristine condition. Not to make light of the pollution aspect either but it is my understanding that it is the stuff that breaks down really easy and turns into micro-plastic that is doing the most harm to the environment. I know of course these LEGO pieces will eventually degrade but hopefully a great many of them will wash up on shore and find thier way into children's toy boxes first. Not trying to cause controversy, just wishful thinking.
  11. Sorry I can't say if I had those same pieces as extras, since I bought this set as a parts pack, I have already put them in big bin. One way you can check though is to see if they are listed in the parts list, if not they are indeed extras.
  12. Is it possible those extra pieces are needed for the combo model?
  13. What a delightfully refreshing scene, very well executed parts usage. Thanks for this, not really a SpongeBob fan but I do remember this scenario.
  14. Thanks for a great review, even though I have already bought this set, thankfully I found it for 20% discount. I mostly agree with everything you said, I really do like the little Mini, very fun build and I liked the big one too, even if it doesn't really fit in with the rest of my collection. One thing though I was extremely happy to get the pit stop parts, unlike most people, mostly for the upright girder things and more roller coaster track, yay. It seems to me like Speed Champions just keeps getting better with each new wave and this set is no exception. I can see other people's point though on just wanting the little red Mini and hating the rest as useless fluff, I however enjoyed the whole set thoroughly and found it to be a great build. I do agree it is a bit pricey as well but as with almost all LEGO sets, if you are a bit patient, you should have no problem getting it at a discount. Thanks again for taking the time to review the set, I always like to see what others think of the sets I have already bought.
  15. I am a knucklehead, post deleted to avoid further controversy and thread derailment.
  16. Indeed over the top for sure. Quite interesting to see it all go together, how much weight can it lift? Excellent build even with modified parts.
  17. Very well done, end product shows the effort and time this must have took. It is very life like if anything too much so. Great job.
  18. I would sure like the set to be like this and I hope you are right. I just feel like for 180 euro it would be more like 1 motor, 1 servo and around 700 pieces, time will tell. I am greatly looking forward to finding out for sure. And yes Corvette was ghastly, just tore mine down for parts, which actually were not to bad.
  19. As great as it would be to have RC defender, it does seem highly unlikely, as the most basic RC models usually cost $100 US with only around 300 pieces. So I think if this set was to be RC it would have to be very small and lacking almost all functions, if the price we are hearing is accurate.
  20. Edit; Nevermind I have no clue what I am talking about.
  21. Glad to see I am not the only one that feels that way, I really think this one will go down in history. I also agree with your view of the techniques used around the dash firewall area, masterfully done for sure. I really hope to see future sets done to this standard as well. Unfortunately I already have the itch to radically modify this set, I mean after all it is LEGO. Really need to pick up another, something I never do with these larger sets.
  22. Good grief guys just take it to pm, please, I actually thought there was some hot new news, instead I just read 3 pages of, no I'm right your wrong.
  23. It sucks getting old, all I see is a fork on a plate and I do so enjoy chocolate cake.
  24. So pretty much everything. Can't say I actually hate the set but I certainly won't rush out to buy it, I imagine I will wait for a sale.
