  1. For those that aren't aware of it, Sariel has done a great review of this set in the Technic/Model Team forum. I really hope I can get one of these at launch a definite day one purchase for me. Those rims will prove to be quite useful for other MOCs along with all those wonderful dark blue pieces, might even get two or three of this set. I fully expect this set to be hugely popular and hard to get because of that, I am worried the scalpers will have a field day with this one.
  2. I have had my eye on this set for awhile now, just waiting for a discount. Funny thing is I want it specifically for that windscreen and the green parts. As with most of these smaller Creator sets, I don't expect much and get them mostly for parts. I did find it odd that you were so negative towards TLG for even wasting their time making this set, given it isn't a great set but it is very small and very affordable, so I like that. Also I felt you rambled on quite a bit and seemed to be at a loss of words to express your disappointment towards the end of the video, regardless I appreciate your time doing this review. It helped me decide to get two of these soon, thanks again for your thoughts.
  3. Interesting the differential frames, using connectors instead of frames, I will have to remember that method. Actually I don't think it looks half bad considering the functions and time constraints, I think you did and good job. Your nephew should very much enjoy it, plus he can disassemble it.
  4. Sorry to hear that, was looking forward to seeing your solution, as I said before that was the section that gave me the most grief and ultimately made me postpone the model indefinitely. Hopefully you don't give up, although at some point you just have to say enough. The biggest problem I had was making the bodywork as narrow as it needed to be, while still maintaining a stout suspension and proper wheel width.
  5. Is that even a thing LEGO does, I can't ever recall seeing dual molded arms. Yes but hopefully we will see pictures before then.
  6. Nice and big, never really liked the official one dismantled it after one week. I would like to take a stab at making a better one someday and I like how you have done it. Are the wings of that Tie fighter leaning over or is that just camera angle?
  7. Okay review, I liked the slo-mo missile tests. I bought this set on 20% discount and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the build and minifigures, definitely worth getting. One thing I like to see in a review is price and piece count, maybe I missed that, another thing and this is especially hard with black, is better lighting less shadowing. Thanks for taking the time for reviewing this set.
  8. Something I think a lot of people are confused by, is the thinking that if they don't like a particular theme it should be discontinued. To me this isn't a valid reason, I mean there are many themes I don't care for but I don't feel like they should be discontinued. I think generally speaking any theme that is stagnant, or eating up valuable resources and just not making the company any money, should be eliminated. Which themes those are only LEGO knows for sure. We as consumers can only speculate, without factual information, exactly which themes those are. Maybe the title of this thread should be what are your least favorite themes.
  9. Crazy as it sounds, I very much value the instruction books, so I sort them by size and stuff them into old LEGO store bags and stack them like bricks in the closet. Not sure why in this day and age, I would rather build by instruction books than computer screen any day. Since I really don't have any sort of cataloguing system it can prove to be cumbersome to find a specific book though, especially when you have hundreds of them.
  10. Interesting, I would have thought black to be heavier. You should clean your scales up a bit, that dust may skew your results. I picked that set up a couple of weeks ago as well, the weird thing is I don't see it on any shelves anymore.
  11. I had this set in my hands this afternoon and was about to buy it, got to looking at it a little closer and just put it back on the shelf. Not sure why I just don't like it nothing specific, I just feel like it's lacking or something else I just can't put my finger on. Oh well may pick it up later, maybe it will grow on me.
  12. Yes even dare I say a bit ridiculous, I am starting to feel like a hooked fish getting played.
  13. I must say if there were any pneumatic mechanisms whatsoever they would quite obviously be touted as a selling feature like 7 motors or two hubs or new longer LAs, since they are not it would be reasonable to assume there are none. That and the fact that there are none visible suggest that in fact there are none. However one can always hope.
  14. There is also that fishbowl helmet from Ninjago, I believe it would be more appropriate unless of course it's the same piece, I don't have the other one to compare it to.
  15. I can only speak for myself but I would get the new one in the box. Having said that though dust really isn't an issue, LEGO cleans up easily enough however there may also be missing pieces and if sticker placement is important sometimes they can be repositioned with minimal effort or damage. However I still say get the new one.
  16. Really glad to see new rims with this set instead of just inserts. Also like the new 2x11 slope and all the rest of the new recolors. I feel the need to own multiple copies now dang nab it. One for each of the models and one just for parts.
  17. Flying faster than the speed of sound, you wouldn't hear them until they were gone.
  18. Are you sure about that, it looks like to me the weight will be on the 2 L white lift arms, the gears just being the mechanism that flips them over. Being only two positions, one being normal ride height and the other jacked up.
  19. Looks very good indeed, I am sure I would enjoy building it as well. Just curious, is this the same as the one you posted last week or is it just similar?
  20. Click on the link, or the written words on the above post.
  21. Also makes me wonder if it will be possible to build MOCs in a similar fashion to go along with official sets. If not possible now maybe some time in the future as they add more sets and upgrade the app. I'm sure there is some sort of recognition code or something that activates the app to spookify the set, maybe you could transfer it into your own build somehow.
  22. Okay I see, I thought those first images came from the LEGO website then we're removed later. So they leaked them? Also thought this other guy actually bought the set so that is okay just happened to get it early. I know I have seen plenty of reviews before sets are widely available. I guess I am just confused about what is okay.
  23. Sorry if I don't understand but why wouldn't these images be allowed.
  24. Great to see you are making progress, I really need to get some more of those suspension arms. Looking forward to seeing how you pull off the front end. What part of Indy are you from? It was good to see them talking about the race on the news last night, reminds me that May is just around the corner.
  25. You have seen the train picture?
