The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
kinggregus replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Initially these sets reminded me of the timecruiser theme which in my opinion is the worst ever. However, this time, I have to admit that I admire Lego s originality. It seems to be possible to modify each of these sets to what they are supposed to be. Eg the castle vessel into a castle, the icecream vessel into an icecream van etc. It really looks like these sets will encourage the creavity of children. I hope this line will be a success even though I have to admit that as an AFOL, I will be buying these sets only for parts.- 2,626 replies

Pleygo: Netflix styled Lego Rental?
kinggregus replied to Legononymous's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There is a nice article about the company on Brickset. I had not heard of the company before. I have however to admit that I like the idea. It could be a great opportunity to try sets before buying them, or try sets for themes that do not attract you, or rent sets you cannot afford or display. It looks like they will expand to Europe soon. Has anyone used them yet? -

Thanks Penkid11. This is such a cool page. The next set to be revealed looks like a cavalry set. I look forward to see what is under the curtain :)- 2,626 replies

This is an incredible build. It is really neat. Is the saloon sign brick build? I really like it.

Over the week end, I have just finished sorting my Lego collection. I sorted most of it by color and by type. It was a 5 month process which I really enjoyed. It was both calming and inspiring. I indeed really enjoyed imagining what my next MOC will be with a particular set of pieces. I also found amusing to remember from what sets a particular piece was coming from. I will try to post pictures in the course of the week.

BOOK: Brick City by Warren Elsmore
kinggregus replied to Teessider's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I did receive it as a present not so long ago. It was my first Lego book and I truly loved it. The models are really beautiful. A beginner like me can also really improve his techniques through the various models you are invited to produce. I would strongly advise the book to any Lego fans. -
Hi. Does anyone know if Cuusoo gave an update regarding the modular western town. As far as I know it was due to be reevaluated? Thanks H

I have to say that the box design is astonishing. It makes the sets so appealing. I am so glad to see the series continue. Lego also surpassed itself in the design of the minifigs. The sets could have had a better design but I do not care that much as we can modify it. After all, this is the point of legos.

One word: Stunning I ll join basically everyone and say that I am so pleased about this set. I really did not expect it to be olive green. Love it!

I am usually very keen in getting the largest sets. However, I will probably pass this one as the building experience seems to be rather repititive. I am also not keen on using stickers, let alone STAMPS. I wonder if TLG could not have found a way to print them, taking into account the number of containers.

Nice one. What I really like about it, is that he build it with his kids. This is a fantastic family experience.

I find the design of your castle very refreshing. I really like the color scheme and the animations in there.

I went to the Lego shop in Brighton and could not believe it: they had the 1x2 light gray bricks with maconnery. I took one full cup of those with olive cheese slope and a few 2x2 light grey tiles.

That s exactly where my dilema is. I am really found of western but I find the Sydney Opera to be stunning. I really don t know which one to get and which one will provide the best building experience.

Hi, first time I am coming here. I quit smoking 3 months ago and as a little perk, I told myself I d buy a large Lego. I am hesitating between the Sydney Opera House or all the Lone Rangers sets. Which set(s) should offer the bigger building time? I'll probably buy all of them at some points but I do not know which one to get over the weekend. I am also balanced by the fact that the lone ranger sets would probably go on sale soon but it will also be double VIP points in October for the Sydney Opera house. Thanks PS I am now living in the UK

Hi! Would anyone estimate what would be a fair price to buy the set without the minifigs? Or alternatively what is the $ value of all the minifigs in this set in your opinion. I d ideally like to have the parts and instructions but have no special interest over the minifigs. Thanks

I am truly amazed. This proves the endless possibilities of using legos. I wish I'll be able to see it real life. Will it ever be exposed?

What is Your Favorite Wave 2 LotR Set?
kinggregus replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hi Deatleech, I am not sure Orthanc would be a clear winner. In my personnal case, it is undoubtly the council of Elrond. I love the unique bricks the set bring. I also find it more colourful and thus attaraying than the other sets in the line. I have to admit that I am amongst those few that love the LOTR Lego theme but have never watched any of the movies.- 25 replies
