Jurassic World 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Personally, the Triceratops set from last year is my favourite of this whole line so far. The Stygimoloch Breakout from 2018 is great too, (Stygimoloch and Triceratops are my favourite Dinos so far) but it's a bit redundant if you have Dr. Wu's lab, so you can probably skip it. Personally I hope they do more 'park' style builds like the egg ride in the Triceratops set, and, yes, the Indominus VS Ankylosaur. -
I mean technically the Arcade Pods are ‘Spinner Type’ sets. Though I do like the Pods a lot more than ordinary spinners. (Very much on the fence about getting one of the Spinjitsu Burst sets just to see what they’re like and maybe mess with the exclusive pieces . .) I just saw Jangbricks’ review of the Fire Stone Mech, and . . yeah I’m pretty much convinced now not to get it. The detailing is good but it just feels out of place compared to the rest of the theme, since it doesn’t tie in with the board game aspect at all. (I wonder if some executive pulled rank on this, like, “We need a mech in this wave,” “But we have a whole board game theme set up across all the sets,” “I don’t care. Mech. Now. And I know this is Cole’s season but Cole isn’t popular and doesn’t sell so make his big set mostly about Kai,” Plus it annoys me a lot that this, a vehicle that’s predominantly Kai themed, is Cole’s only large vehicle since 2016 (not counting the Movie), and it comes during what’s supposed to be a Cole themed season. Honestly, they could have made ‘Cole’s Rhino Creature’ and a ‘Fire Ice Mech’. That would have been good. Bleh . . oh well, guess I’m once again not going to get a full wave of Ninjago sets. I wonder if they’ll ever again make an entire wave that’s just unambiguously good with no filler.

Okay, whoa! I’m not gonna quote @Whovastron’s picture again because it’d be like the fifth time, but that is incredible!

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Fenghuang0296 replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Don’t forget, Richie and Hausner. There were too many duplicates of the same figures in the Prime Empire wave, but technically Richie and Hausner were distinct, individual characters. (Even though they were just two representatives of a much larger faction . .) And there were exactly four Red Visors across the whole wave, which honestly disappointed me a little. They look great and I wouldn’t have minded getting more. Plus Sushimi was badass. Honestly I think the Master of the Mountain wave’s a lot worse about the ‘identical bad guys’ thing. There’s exactly four different minifigure designs (and I don’t count the goblin and troll variants where they just slapped a hood on or removed the shoulder armour because there’s no difference in the prints) that are repeated a lot, and that’s including the Skull Sorceror himself. Plus, the ‘Awakened Warriors’ only have one print on their whole bodies so really there’s only three minifigure villain designs across this whole wave. It’s not a good precedent to set. Monkie Kid recycling the Bull Demon grunts is annoying, but they have the unique designs for Princess Iron Fan and Red Son, and they actually do have different-coloured arms and a cape for General . . Iron something? I forget . . plus apparently there’s three more sets that’ll include the Spider Queen, Goldhorn and Silverhorn (probably have those wrong, sorry) so those will probably be unique and interesting. It certainly could be worse. Also, on the topic of the Serpentine, that was definitely a high point for the theme; they came up with no less than seventeen minifigure designs that each consisted of three or four prints, as well as eight new moulds, just for the Serpentine. I wish we still got that level of detail . . -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

As far as I can tell from the description, it’s going to be somewhat similar to the Ninja DBX from 2015 Ninjago; a large truck with a mobile command centre that can be detached and unfolds into a villain base. I’m very interested to see how it works. -

Fenghuang0296 replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I’m excited for these new sets. They sound much more interesting than most of what’s on offer currently. Also, it occurs to me that now it’s possible to get the entire main cast just by getting the Flaming Foundry, which has Mei, Iron Fan, Red Son and Bull Demon King, and Sandy’s Speedboat, which also has Sandy, Pigsy and Mo. (And Uncle Zheng and the the Spider Queen, who might not be main characters since they’re each only in one set but definitely couldn’t hurt.) Here’s hoping LEGO learned their lesson about the prices for these ones. Because now that we know about these I’ve essentially lost interest in all the Wave 1 sets except Pigsy’s Food Truck. -

So four new set names and numbers have emerged on #legoleaks: 40381 Monkie King Brickheadz 80014 Sandy’s Speedboat 80015 Monkie Kid’s Cloud Roadster 80016 The Flaming Foundry Out of these, honestly the Flaming Foundry sounds awesome. The other three are meh, especially if they have similar pricing to the current line. (I thought Brickheadz was finally dead come on . .) Of course, it’s totally possible that these are fake. Discuss? Also, hey this is my two thousand and twentieth post! Awesome! -

I completely agree. Some of them are mediocre, but remember Zia from that T-Rex Transport set a couple of years ago? Her design is gorgeous. Not to mention Ellie from the first JP set with the velociraptor. She had dual moulding and print on the side of her legs. That was so slick. -

That’s gorgeous! I love it! I’d love to see more of Castle Beach!

I have, and they didn’t. But yes, the train would be great. -
Where are these pictures? EDIT: They’re not on #legoleaks for me. Though I have a lot of accounts blocked . . DOUBLE EDIT: Found them. Huh. Is that drill pink? Yeah they don’t look massively real, but I’ll reserve judgement. Even if they are real, though, I doubt I’d get them unless they had exclusive minifigures or some such.

Okay, I have no interest or intention to get the Bat-Semi Truck, but if they actually made a set of the Bat-Train then I would definitely buy it. (Why oh why did they make the Bat-Space Shuttle but not the Bat-Train for the movie?) -
Um. Do you have any idea how many characters/variants we’re missing? Just off the top of my head; Dr. Julian. Cole’s dad (and the other Royal Blacksmiths). The Emperor and Empress. Cyrus Borg. Dr. Saunders. Skales’ wife and Skales Jr. Faith (without all her head wrappings). Oni-Garmadon. Casual Harumi (the Prime Empire version isn’t bad but it’s not remotely like how she dressed in S.O.G.). Golden Ninja versions of Jay and Cole (and I’m not particularly happy with the inaccurate existing Kai and Zane either). Prime Empire Zane. Young Lloyd with a wig, not a hood. The Overlord. The Preeminent. Legacy-2 Zane and Nya. (Though I could forgive them not doing Nya since we did get Legacy Samurai X.) Show-accurate casual versions of literally every ninja, both pre- and post-movie. The Police Commissioner, and those two detective partners we keep seeing. Dareth’s screenwriters from Skybound, Nelson and Antonia post-Movie. Young Aspheera. Mambo the Fifth. Kataru. Non-frozen General Vex. Emperor Grimfax and his royal guards. And I’m pretty sure there’s at least a couple of Elemental Masters we never got. And that’s to say nothing of the characters we technically did get but were so rare, exclusive and long ago that I think everyone would welcome a rerelease; Casual Pixal, Misako, the postman, Dareth in brown gi, Ed and Edna, Karlof and Griffin Turner.

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Fenghuang0296 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
A reliable leaker (can’t remember if it was Falconfan or Ninjawhip or someone else, sorry) said there’d be more in 2021. The Stunt Plane is indeed great, it’s the centrepiece of my airstrip. I do recommend Welcome to the Hidden Side, it’s gorgeous. I just got the Mystery Castle today. It’s a wonderful design, the central part of it in particular is great. Though it could use a more in-depth transformation feature . . also there’s a lot of details and hints about the plot in the stickers. -

You could tweak one of the Batman suits to make it a custom Bat-Gordon? (I don’t read comics so I’m not an expert though.) I hear that. I don’t actually have a Batcave yet but I have space reserved to build one, and the only Batmobile I have are the Ultimate Batmobile from 2017 and the 80th anniversary one from last year. My big problem with most of the Batmobiles they put out is that the official LEGO road baseplates they make (and that I use for my city) have twenty-stud-wide roads. That means, for a vehicle to be ‘street-legal’ in my city, it needs to be ten studs wide or less so that two vehicles can pass - one on each side of the road - without hitting either each other or something on the pavement. I was excited about last year’s Batmobile because it’s the first Batmobile since I started collecting Super Heroes stuff that’s less than ten studs wide and is therefore street-legal. (Even if it is freakishly long.) And neither this Bat-Off-Roader nor the Joker-Trike are street-legal by that definition. I’m less fussed about the Trike because I’ve checked the instructions and it’ll be easy to replace the front wheels, but the Off-Roader is just irredeemable. -

Fenghuang0296 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It’s spelled ‘Vaughn’. That would be cool, but how would it work with the AR? I honestly can’t see a big monster in this theme unless it has very limited articulation. It’d be too hard for the app to recognise it as such and still retain poseability. (I don’t have the Phantom Fire Truck yet, but I’m pretty sure that Mech only works because it folds down and becomes part of the truck in a fixed position.) -
LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Fenghuang0296 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Clutch Powers wasn’t a theme. It was a one-off movie that for whatever reason never got any direct tie-in sets and was instead a hodgepodge of advertising for most of the original themes on the market at the time. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Fenghuang0296 replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I totally agree. Personally I just can’t afford to buy LEGO at full price anymore. With themes like this I’d normally buy one or two big sets when my local shops have a 20% off discount, and fill out my character collection (I love having named characters in my city and under other circumstances the heroes of this theme, all of whom could be ordinary civilians, would be right up my alley) with the smaller sets. But this theme isn’t likely to see discounts, being Shop@Home exclusive, and the smallest set is $50 AUD. So if nothing else I’m going to wait for a good GWP promotion. -

Nice work! One of those on the HQ says ‘Dragon Horse Shipping’? Is that why they have the boat and Mei’s a Power Ranger? Her family owns a shipping company and spoil their daughter and her friends with expensive and destructive toys? -
Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread

We have a trailer! I'm excited. There's also a lot of character designs that didn't make it into the sets, it seems - Vania's royal guards are gorgeous, and there are a couple of 'adventurer'-looking people with lovely designs that I wish we'd gotten. Also, we have a confirmed name for the Skeleton Dragon - "Griefbringer". Can't wait to see the show!- 4,591 replies

Wow, this is coming along nicely! So much better than my city . . Is that the Parisian Restaurant you’re building? I can’t think of any other sets with that much olive green,

Can anyone quickly confirm whether the Bat-Off-Roader (as I call it because it's way too bulky to be a normal Batmobile) has a sticker or printed Batman logo on the hood? I'm considering getting that set for the Robin and Harley Quinn mini figures as parts and repurposing the car for a MOC since I really don't need another Batmobile.
