  1. Wait, hang on. I just took another look at the picture and suddenly noticed what @Soupperson1 meant about the hint of the dress changing colour; the bottom of Aurora’s dress is blue as though the change is in progress. Except that this is a print. It’s going to be stuck like that. That is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. Seriously. Which bright spark came up with that idea?
  2. Yeah? Where in Australia was this? I’ll go see if my local one has any tomorrow. Sorry about your phone, but quick update for everyone with a device that can run the app; it’s available, at least on iOS in Australia (and America too). It doesn’t appear directly on the App Store, you need to scan a QR code in the sets, but I managed to trick my device into installing it by pausing one of just2good’s videos when he was showing the instructions on my computer, screenshotting and blowing up the QR code, then scanning the screen with my iPad and following the link. I ordered my Starter Course and the Monty Mole/Mushroom GWP months ago at a local hobby store, and I’m definitely looking forward to picking it up, hopefully next week. Can’t wait!
  3. Oh my gosh that Rapunzel tower is gorgeous! Yes! I want it! I didn’t get the last one but this is so much better and I can’t wait! Meh on Aurora’s cottage. The new Maleficient design with her raven is cute but not worth getting it for. (Plus I’m just not that attached to Sleeping Beauty in general.) I’ll pass, unless it’s generously priced. Do we have release dates?
  4. So I was nosing around and found this on Hidden Side fandom (don't know where they got it); Site BioEdit Eons old, the Maw is a gigantic, indestructible creature-type-thing. You know, the ultimate destroyer and insatiable devourer of worlds. It travels in dimensions beyond ours, beyond the Hidden Side, beyond our comprehension, really. So yes, it would be kind a of big threat to Newbury, and pretty much the rest of the world, too, if it ever came to these parts of our universe. It doesn’t seem all that likely, though, does it? Does it? What is the Maw?Edit Eons old, the Maw is your typical gigantic, indestructible creature-type-thing. You know, an insatiable devourer of worlds. It travels in dimensions beyond ours, beyond the Hidden Side, beyond our comprehension, really. We’ve already said too much. Please move along, nothing to see here. App BioEdit An endless hunger for all things. This creature will devour all. And now it has come to our world! So, uh . . I guess Nehmaar Reem was a harbinger of a greater threat after all. Just the greater threat was indeed the ghost in the Mystery Castle.
  5. I’d pray for anything accurate to Young Justice or Teen Titans (the original Teen Titans show, not the grimdark ‘Titans’ reboot (without Cyborg no less) or {shudders} Go!. I’d seriously love a Miss Martian figure. Or Kid Flash. Or Superboy. (Young Justice Superboy, not . . I haven’t actually read the comics but I heard ‘Superboy’ is an entirely different character there. Or Superboy Prime . . ? I don’t know.) Point is give me LEGO Young Justice if we have another CMF.
  6. So do we know how the Bespin Duel is going to be made available? LEGO stores? Shop@Home?
  7. So we’re calling those microdolls? I guess that makes more sense than ‘really-mini-dolls’ (my suggestion) . . Elves and Mrs. Claus are cute but I don’t think I’ll get this one. Definitely grabbing the HP and SW calendars though.
  8. Ooh! Repeats of Harry, Ron and Hermione, sure, expected those, but the Parvatis and Cho in those gorgeous dresses I certainly did not! Looking forward to this one for sure!
  9. Does anyone know how the rotating feature on the Boo tower in Bowser’s Castle is built? It’s interesting and I want to do something similar in a MOC. I hope it doesn’t require specialised pieces.
  10. Sorry I’m dumb but which torsos are those? I’ve been looking for something to match with those Teevee legs! EDIT: Nevermind, they’re from that Creator 3-in-1 rover set. Silly me for not remembering it. Those will look awesome together.
  11. That’s awesome! I particularly like how the runway on the back looks almost curved, though I’d question functionality; how did you curve it? Or is it an optical illusion?
  12. I honestly always really enjoyed the sets. I was in a dark age for most of Chima’s run and only got some of the early stuff in 2013 early on, but there was some great stuff later and just a couple of months ago I managed to get a used copy of the Flying Phoenix Fire Temple for a great price on eBay, which I’ve expanded and installed in my city as a ‘church’. The Order of the Phoenix is a completely different thing in my city. :P As someone who’s too young to have been around for any earlier takes on Fire Vs. Ice, I didn’t find it at all tired. Granted, there’s nothing particularly special about most of the Ice builds (though the Sabre-Tank that came with the Phoenix Fire Temple does have a nice play feature), but I do like the Fire aesthetic. I think the Temple’s going to be part of my city for quite a while to come.
  13. The ‘random orange steps’ are for the egg ride, they fit perfectly around the blue gears. (Though I put them on a baseplate for my display and they might not work so well free-standing . .)
  14. It was so weird how the colour wheel was integrated so well in all the 2019 sets (especially the Stunt Truck, those technic connectors? Wow.) but most of the 2020 ones had it weirdly out of place. It was a real step back and I don’t understand how that happened.
  15. That’s not a fair comparison. From what I’ve seen the Mario app is just for instructions and sharing your designs, not a full-on game that’s a vital part of the experience. Mario doesn’t need the all to work as far as I can tell.
  16. Is it really? I never knew that. Embarrassing. But awesome!
  17. I agree. While we speculated that Nehmaar Reem was a harbinger of a greater threat, there never was really anything to support that. And I do hope the webisodes continue, after all, the Elves Netflix series did get cancelled (the show they did around Season 3 in 2017 is one of my favourite pieces of LEGO tie-in media and I wish they’d finished it in 2018). Though, to be fair if we’re comparing things to ten years ago there were a lot more original themes like that back then and they were all at least distantly related - I’m sure I remember hearing something like ‘the climax of Monster Fighters caused the moon to briefly light up like a galactic beacon, which attracted the alien bug enemies of Galaxy Squad to Earth’, and I think there was more besides. Not to mention the three iterations of the Agents theme (and I do hope they revive that again sometime in the future, I regret being in a dark age for Ultra Agents). Whereas the likes of Nexo Knights and Hidden Side and Monkie Kid all seem to exist within their own little bubbles (canonically at least, I’m sure kids all over the world have Nexo Knights laying siege to the High School, etcetera).
  18. I’ll miss Hidden Side, it was fun. What makes you think Monkie Kid is going to go on general release?
  19. You mean Compsognathus, or Compy as they’re commonly known? Possible, but I’d rather they just recolour the baby raptor mould. I am not enthused by the idea of a rubber piece with a single antistud . .
  20. What was so bad about Triceratops Rampage? That one was my favourite.
  21. Ooh, sounds exciting! Personally I don’t much care about Toad but I want the “Hi, friend!” sticker tile to go with my custom Luma on my course and that’s currently only in the sets with Toad and Yoshi (and now that I know the ‘invincibility block’ also comes in the King Boo set I’ve lost a lot of interest in Mario’s House). So a small set with Toad (and that tile) would be great.
  22. Dude your city is gorgeous! I’m curious where Thor’s going on the train . .
  23. It’s gorgeous. Surprisingly compact for such a large build, and there’s a lot of interior space. People pan it for not having much furniture, but that’s really only a problem on the lowermost levels in the ‘prison cell’ areas and there’s some nice sticker detail in places. It’s not as good as the High School but I still like it a lot. Plus Nehmaar Reem is a gorgeous figure.
  24. I don’t think there’s anything automatic about it. There’s a second handle attached to Mario on a swivel with a trans-clear bar. I’m pretty sure the idea is that you crank it and move Mario simultaneously to make as though you’re ‘playing the game’.
  25. Um . . I just . . um . . what?
