There’s one on the back of the Skeleton Dragon, too. Am I the only one who now thinks Journey and Dungeon actually won’t have much interior? I feel like it would have been featured if there was one. I love the health bar/inventory side builds! It’s so smart and reminds me of Heroica but better! I can’t wait to see how this game works! You can play it with just any one of them . . technically. I feel like for any real ‘experience’, you need the main Dungeon or it’s just so small it’d be over in five minutes. But I don’t see any reason you couldn’t skip the definitely-not-a-dracolich and rhino, and just use the Journey and Dungeon sets as a board game. Also, I’m particularly enamoured with the lime green skull the Sorceror has as an accessory. Some kind of familiar? Advisor? Comic relief?

I really hope it’s dark tan. Tan is so overused, predominantly because of Hogwarts. If it’s tan that’ll just ruin it for me.

Oh my god the Dragon looks better than I dared dream. I love it! I need it! Definitely, 100% buying the Journey, Dungeon, and both dragons. The Mino Beast might be a pass though. I like it, way more than the Fire/Stone Mech, but it’s weird that Zane and Cole both come in this and the Dungeon, right? Also, weirdly, this means Lloyd only comes in one set. That’s unusual. Actually, I think Cole’s the only one who appears in more than two non-Spinner sets this wave (not counting the Legacies). Which is a wonderful change from the four Jays, three Lloyds and Kais, two Coles and one Nya we got in Prime Empire. I also spy not one, but two builds to add to the board game in the Skeleton Dragon, which is wonderful! This game is gonna be awesome. Weird that they say there’s a ‘game experience inside’ with the Mino Beast but not the FireStone Mech. I do see a side build that could add to the board game but not much of one . . unless the Beast itself is somehow part of the board game. Which would be great and massively increase my interest in that set. I can see myself getting everything in this season except the Mech and spinners. Wonderful wave and I hope they do more like this and less like Prime Empire (too many vehicles, uneven fig distribution with two many repeats).

It’s weird, but the more I look at the Abandoned Prison, the more I like it. I think that’s what I’m going to miss the most about Hidden Side if this is the last wave; the potential for cute structures in the small side that don’t conform to the metropolitan aesthetic that City and Creator are obsessed with (and it looks like if/when Monkey Kid has structures they’ll be similar and simply slightly Chinese-ised) but also aren’t completely out of place in a city, like a lot of licensed sets or Action/Adventure things. If the Abandoned Prison is the last one like that and it looks just as good on the inside (I haven’t found the original video of it turning so I haven't seen it, if someone could point me to it that’d be great!) and I can find a good place to put it, then maybe I will get it after all?

Nope. Neither has Zane’s ‘Mino Beast’.

I mean right now my ‘ghost world’ is three blue cardboard Xtra baseplates (I bought two packs of two and used one on my city's waterfront) with the Portal in the corner, a floating chunk of custom-built sidewalk, Molten Man from FFH as a ‘giant fire ghost’ (I got the set for the Spidey variant and didn’t know what else to do with Molten Man) and a bunch of assorted minifigures who work as ghosts. Including but not limited to the 2015 Ninjago ghosts (some of which I’ve given Hidden Side accessories for variety), the actual Hidden Side ghosts (including ghost Jack), the ‘skeleton demon ghost’ from the 2016 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (I missed the 1980s Ghostbusters sets), Hydroman from FFH and Sushimi from the recent Ninjago line with his ‘possessed sushi rolls’. I’m really sort of counting on the upcoming Castle to be big and good and tie it all together. If it turns out to be as bad as the rest of this wave’s sets, then I’ll probably just scrap the whole idea and use the shelf space for something else.

Pity. Guess Wonder Woman vs Cheetah and a few CMFs are going to be the only DC things I get this year. Oh well, more money for Ninjago, Monkie Kid and Avengers.

So, I haven't followed the DC Super Heroes leaks much of late; are these the only three sets we're getting will there be more? Because none of these interest me and I don't expect to get any of them.

We can guess some aspects already; notice how both the Dungeon and the Journey sets are plastered with 2x2s with two studs? Those are spaces on the board. You spin the special dice spinner to roll, then move the number of spaces. The presence of additional markings on the sides of the dice is reminiscent of Heroica, almost a decade ago - there, each side of the dice was also marked with a sword or a skull to indicate when you battle a monster, as you presumably will against the skeletons, orcs, dragons, Sorceror, etc. I imagine the marks will include ‘victory’, ‘defeat’, ‘tie’, etcetera. Presumably the new dual-moulded black and white swords will have both gameplay benefits and plot relevance, too. Well, we’ve basically seen that one already on the box arts of Lloyd and Cole’s, but fair.

The dungeon is gorgeous. I can’t wait to see how the board game aspect of it works! That’ll be exciting. I also really want to see the back/interior of it. And how it looks without all the chaotic background art . . Only two reveals left, can we please see Zane’s Mino Beast and the Skeleton Dragon now?

I agree, the Castle is gonna be exciting. Honestly, out of these four the only one I really see myself getting is, surprisingly, the submarine. Vaughn is gorgeous and I want him, same for the exclusive Parker and ‘possessed statue’ figures. (At least I assume the statue is exclusive but if it does get reused in other sets it’s the sort of thing I’ll be happy to have multiple of.) The terrain is cute and will make a nice addition to my ‘ghost world’ diorama (which I’ve been building out of the Hidden Side Portal, some side builds, and Xtra ocean baseplates if anyone’s interested), and the submarine has a certain charm that could lead to it finding a home in my docks or underwater layout. Though come to think of it I could use Vaughn’s car as a display piece in the ghost world, it is a ghost car after all and I’m sorely lacking for structures over there (why did I have to skip most of the Ninjago ghost stuff back in 2015 . .) Might be worth considering.

The submarine and abandoned prison leaked. Um. That is not what I expected when I heard “ghost fighting submarine” . . but I like it way more than I expected to and might actually get it. The prison’s disappointing though. I expected more. Was planning to get it, but looking at it I might pass . . EDIT: Also, hang on. I thought JB was supposed to come in the submarine set? I mean, I love the exclusive swimsuit (it’s gorgeous and I can’t wait to see what I can do with it) and it’s also great that Vaughn comes in another set (so I won’t have to get the Supernatural Dragster after all - I mean it’s cool but I just don’t have anywhere to put it) but I’m sure the leak said it was ‘J.B.’s submarine’.

Is that what’s supposed to happen? I thought the truck turned into a mech all on its own . . that’ll be interesting. Vaughn’s Drag Racer leaked. It’s cute! I like it. Also it looks like Jack has a new printed phone showing a red ghost rather than the blue ghost he normally has. And the other ghost figure in that set is awesome!

Congrats on making Count, by the way. :P Kai’s Fighter is cute. I was in a Dark Age for 2014 so I missed the original one, and don’t really feel the need to get this one honestly. But it’s cute.

So . . ridiculously overbuilt Bat-Off-Roader. Not a fan but I do like the Harley fig . .

It’s supposed to be June. Though given the current state of the world it’s anyone’s guess really.

I saw the 4+ Tower. (Even though it’s really sorta not a tower.) I like it! Good figure selection, useful parts, and the recoloured and reprinted that 6x8 rounded tile from the Disney storybooks with an Avengers logo. Definitely gonna pick that one up for the new Captain Marvel, Loki and Hulk. (Also I called it they’re reusing the Iron Man figure from the mech set. Makes me happy I didn’t bother buying that mech.)

The fire truck leaked, and, um, I think you guys are gonna want to see the side build . . what the hell is that? Slenderman? I hope the other sets have similar stuff that thing looks insane!

That Helicarrier is a small . . weird . . uh . . {shrugs} I mean I wasn’t really planning on getting it anyway, but now . . no. Yes please!

No, the pictures show he has armour on both shoulders, not just one. I’m pretty sure it’s 88295 in brown. Which, as I said, was previously exclusive to Apocalypseburg, so yay.

I’m talking about Part 88295. It’s been in one Prince of Persia set from 2010, one CMF in 2015, and the $500 Apocalypseburg D2C. It’s rare and I’m pretty sure Wu is wearing it. Could be wrong though, it’s sorta blurry and they never leaked the new Wu figure.

Leaks are starting again! We got a picture of Wu’s Battle Dragon! It included Master Wu (with what I think is the Apocalypseburg shoulder armour, hooray for rare parts in cheap sets!), a goblin, and a dragon that sorta looks like the 2015 Master Wu Dragon and 2026 Green NRG Dragon had a child together. It’s cute and I want it.

Okay, ignoring the fact that some megablock thinks it’s funny to troll our whole community just to insult one person and looking at what details we can make out of the set . . a few things I’m noticing. First; minifigures. I spy Lloyd, Zane, Cole, unknown white demon girl (who’s on the left side of the ninja while all the enemies are on the right so I think she’s good), Skull Sorceror, black/green skeleton, another orc identical to the ones in the other two sets, and what I think is one of those purple goblins we had leaked a while ago but wearing a hood, not one of those elf ear wigs, for some reason. Did we really need near-identical ‘cage suspended over lava’ builds in both of the terrain sets? It’s sorta just dull when you do it twice . . also, the build actually doesn’t seem as substantial as the promo pics led me to believe, which sort of sucks. On the bright side it definitely looks like there’s an interior. Also, interestingly, it seems like this Skull Sorceror is using Kruncha and Nuckal’s severed heads as ornaments to decorate his bridge. I mean I know they’re probably supposed to be just skulls but I’m pretty sure that's the same part as they used last year in the Legacy sets for Kruncha, Nuckal and Wyplash, soooo . .
