  1. I think ‘Mario’s House’ will just be the purple a Toad house we saw in the trailer. That’s fine by me because I wanted the house and Yoshi, so if they both come in the same set it’ll be a must-buy for me. Some of these are curious - I can see (and skip) a Desert Pokey set with a big brick-built Pokey, but Whomp’s Fortress sounds interesting. We’ve obviously already seen the Piranha Plant Power Slide, but the Piranha Plant Attack is probably going to be that other build we saw in the trailer with the mechanism that launches a Piranha Plant out of a pipe when Mario approaches. Kind of sucks that that’s one of the most expensive sets, it looks awesome and I really want it. I’m also curious about what Toad’s Treasure Hunt entails, and how they’re going to represent Toad. Probably brick-built with a head that’s a recoloured version of the Super Mushroom we saw already, but I’m still curious. Based on the names alone though, the only ones I see as must-buys are Mario’s House and the Piranha Plant attack. That, the Starter Course, the Monty Mole GWP and Bowser’s Castle will probably make quite the nice little display.
  2. I completely agree. They should revisit the villain stuff more often. The Serpentine had small side builds in the 2019 Legacy sets. Why not expand on it a bit? They could have at least put a small Nindroid flyer in with the Thunder Raider or Kai Fighter, that would have made things more fair.
  3. I hope so. Hopefully that could also mean more Hufflepuff students - so far each table in my Great Hall has at least three people sitting at it (Ravenclaw currently only has two but that’ll change when I get Luna in the RoR - I got two Chos from the CMF and used one to make a ‘student’ version of Ava from Nexo Knights, and put Credence in Slytherin) except Hufflepuff, which only has Susan and Cedric. Though . . actually I honestly can’t remember any Hufflepuff students other than those two . .
  4. This is gorgeous! I love it! On a not-totally-related note, I just got the 2018 Whomping Willow set because I saw the Ravenclaw common room in the Astronomy Tower and decided I need dorms for all four houses in my Hogwarts. (Because it’d just be weird to only have two or three.) Cute little set, bit overpriced but that’s what I get for not getting it on sale and waiting until there was literally only one shop left in the whole city that stocked it. So on the topic of common rooms, does anyone think we’ll eventually get dorm rooms for Hufflepuff and Slytherin? I could definitely see a Slytherin room, but since Hufflepuff’s common room never actually appeared in the books or movies I feel like I might need to build a custom . .
  5. True, but you can still recognise them as being at least inspired by the DX suits.
  6. The Titanium Dragon was the set that brought me out of my Dark Age back in 2015. It’s one of my all-time favourites and I would adore a Legacy upgrade akin to the Storm Fighter, Kai Fighter or Ultra Dragon.
  7. Aww, thanks! That’s so nice of you to say. I’ve been hesitant to share any of my designs on here since last year, when I tried showing my Hall of Armour MOC but everyone just ignored it. Maybe I’ll start my own thread . . if I can figure out how to upload images properly.
  8. Sounds good! Crossover is kind of the whole point of the Reality Storm (what I call all my layouts - you know how in The LEGO Movie, there was one central city layout and then a bunch of smaller, themed side layouts? Mine is exactly like that). My Hogwarts has Merlok 2.0, the aforementioned Abby Yates, Clara Oswald and C-3PO on staff. Beyond Hogwarts, I have my own spaceship fleet consisting of five Systar Spaceships (they got super cheap when all the TLM2 stuff was on clearance - I have so many useless Emmets), two Maintenance Shuttles from City Space, Ninjago’s ShuriCopter, Eris’ 2014 Chima Fire Eagle, and a Star Destroyer-sized custom mothership I call the Stormwing, crewed by Benny and the Classic Space Squad, Buzz Lightyear, Bruce Banner, and assorted Star Wars astromechs. I’ve assembled my own superhero squad including Spider-Man, Tracer, Frozone, Samurai X, Sonic the Hedgehog, Lumia (from Elves) and I’m considering adding Wonder Woman. I’ve built a secret mech bay for Samurai X’s Mech over Skylor’s noodle shop (another custom) with an apartment/suit display for Spider-Man over that. (Though I might move him into Avengers Tower once that’s available, given it apparently has a Hall of Armour, as I already have a huge Hall MOC.) I like throwing absolutely everything together to see what fits.
  9. We don’t have confirmed prices yet, those are Hong Kong prices, it’ll probably be cheaper elsewhere. And oh yeah, there was supposed to be a 4+ set . . that’s odd.
  10. It’s not that bad. The WW’s been notoriously unpopular here; even though it was released almost two years ago it’s still on shelves in a couple of stores. I’m taking the train to a Big W in Broadmeadow (possibly the last shop in Melbourne to have stock) to get it tomorrow morning, it’s going to be almost three hours there and back but that’s what we do for ABS plastic, right? As for the price, it’s $90 AUD for 750 pieces. I’d prefer a good 20% off discount but I’m just going to count my blessings that it’s still available at all. Luckily I have some spare cash. Still, you’re right, good and useful parts. I plan to preserve the archway part and the Gryffindor Tower (rebuilding the ground floor interior into a common room, since I already have a custom-built Potions classroom) as part of my Hogwarts, and repurpose Snape’s office and the other Potions classroom section for a different building. (I recently got a preowned edition of the 2014 Flying Phoenix Fire Temple, since I was in a Dark Age at the time and it’# one of the sets I regret missing the most . . or should I say it was, given it’s now occupying two baseplates in my city. I love it, it just speaks to me, especially because phoenixes are awesome and I wish LEGO did them more . . but I do sort of wish it was a bit taller, as I had to put it right next to the Sanctum Sanctorum and it just looks short. Those stubby towers will be a great start towards building a ‘base’ for the mecha Phoenix that adds some verticality.) My interpretation of Hogwarts is pretty wacky compared to most . . I’m pretty sure I’m the only city builder who dug out Merlok’s Library 2.0 from Nexo Knights (I’d had it lying around and being useless for three years) and converted it into a computer lab slash tech tower for Hogwarts - with Clay’s golden Wizard Battle Suit on top as a statue. Not to mention repurposing the Dimensions Ghostbusters stuff into a science classroom and installing Abby Yates as science teacher. (She was a University Professor, after all, she’s qualified.) I’d rather buy and build the Room of Requirement and Astronomy Tower before sharing pictures, though. So be patient?
  11. Um . . the . . um . . what?
  12. Ooh. Maybe it’s an ‘ebony sword’ and ‘ivory sword’? That’d be classy. I’d love an updated classic Pixal! Honestly. She’s basically one of the ninja at this point in the show, but they gloss over her so much in the sets - she hasn’t even appeared in a set since 2018, despite having a prominent role in the show in every season since the Movie.
  13. All of these Hogwarts MOCs are amazing. Mine really can’t hold a candle. I love your work, @Guyon2002! Because of the nature of my layout’s setting (it can be summarised as ‘cross-reality hodgepodge’, in which sometimes buildings from various universes are transported into a floating islands world and snapped up by essentially feudal lords to build rival settlements) the Hogwarts that’s in my city is a bit different. So far I’ve mostly just combined the Great Hall and one of the four component builds from the 2010 Hogwarts that I got way back when (scrapped long ago but I managed to dig out enough of the pieces from my collection to rebuild it) with a bunch of custom stuff. I’ve recently reorganised my layout, and only now have sufficient room to expand my Hogwarts beyond that, so I’m definitely going to add the new Astronomy Tower and Room of Requirement. I’m still working on some of the minutiae, but would anyone like to see that when I feel it’s presentable? I might also see if I can track down the Whomping Willow from 2018; is it worth the purchase?
  14. Opposite power swords sounds like a thing. To be fair, the Djinn blade never even looked like it did in the sets, in the show the gem was always green and the blade white. And it was supposed to be able to channel the elemental powers of the Ninja it had trapped, but I don’t think we ever actually saw it do that. Really? So the demand in the US is more-or-less equivalent to the demand in the entire rest of the world put together? Wow.
  15. It looks like the same guy to me. Same face, anyway. Can’t be certain though. And we’ve had HD pics for days. Check @falconfan1414. Also, hey, I just noticed; there’s a trapdoor where the blue patch of carpet is. That’s exciting. It lets you dump people out into the courtyard. Or maybe the mouth of the castle creature.
  16. So we have the name of the main villain leaked by Falconfan, credit to promobricks and stonewars. ‘Nehmaar Reem’. Interestingly, it’s a corruption and reversion of ‘Mirror Man’ - Meer Raamhen. He looks awesome and I can’t wait to find out more.
  17. Great idea! I never got any Monster Fighters stuff, I was a little kid at the time and way too interested in Power Miners and then Atlantis to think about any other theme. But I’d love to see that! I plan to use it as the base of operations for my new faction of anarchist revolutionaries. My layout is a fantasy/floating island setting, and there’s something about the image of a giant flying possessed castle that eats ships and buildings that I really love.
  18. It looks like there’s some kind of mechanism on the ground floor. I think it rotates the eyes and brings those branches with the blue foliage out. And it looks like opening up the castle IS the transformation feature. If you look closely, there are curved panels with stickers on them that show ‘mouth vortexes’ similar to the ones in the High School’s mouth that are only visible while it’s opened up. And there’s a lot of ghost build stuff on the inside wall that is . . not hidden but hard to see when it’s closed up. Which kind of sucks but I guess they didn’t want it to be ‘Haunted High School but in grey’. I still think that the castle actually does open up in-universe, not just as a play set, but it’s actually supposed to be reaching forward like a giant sideways mouth and ‘eating’ whatever wanders in front of it.
  19. Okay, I just looked again and I’m stupid; the ‘slenderman’ in the fire truck is holding the yellow crystal and El Fuego has the red one in the prison. Makes me wonder if the blue one’s hidden somewhere in Vaughn’s car. So it is a collectibles thing. I wonder if they’re all Soul Artefacts? Some new type thereof, maybe?
  20. I’ve found the colour gizmo! Props to LEGO for making it so well hidden I briefly forgot that HS sets HAD colour gizmos. Look at the centre of the roof, between the two wedges, and you’ll see a macaroni brick, and directly above it is a gear. It’s so beautifully integrated, makes me love this set all the more. Now if they can do stuff like that, why do they keep slapping on the same identical microbuild to every other structure this year? Even the submarine set and that's like half vehicle.
  21. Oooooooohhhhhhh, THAT’S where that part is from! I thought it looked familiar but I couldn’t place it - for a minute I thought it was the black Fluminox armour from Chima that they recoloured for Magpie. I don’t know, everything above ground level looks mostly normal. I wonder if it’s going to be like a ‘pool portal’ that’s horizontal, or maybe even slowly rising and engulfing the castle from the bottom up. A few other things I’ve noticed; there’s little ‘leg holder’ parts attached to the insides of the windows. I think that’s where the henchmen figures go; they must be possessed suits of armour that stand in those spots normally and are now ‘brought to life’. There’s even enough space to add two more in the corners if you get the other sets (though no holders or anything, you’d just have to put them next to the windows). Also, there’s an apparatus with three crystals, red, blue and yellow, and an empty slot, and Jack’s holding the same green crystal as was in the sub set (though the staff it was attached to seems to have broken in half, which I imagine will make for a cool scene in the short with Parker and the statue having a tug of war until the staff breaks in half, at which point they’re just like “Okay thanks bye!”). I assume that they have some kind of significance. Which makes it a bit weird that LEGO didn’t go for some kind of collection gimmick with the coloured crystals. A lot of rooms are annoyingly bare, but I’m sure we can find stuff to fill them.
  22. I love the castle! It’s gorgeous and I so want to get it. I actually quite like the colour disparity with the dark tan tower (also yay it’s not boring old tan!) and the transformation feature is sweet! Though I’d really appreciate it if you could open it up without triggering the transformation . . oh well. Still cool. Definitely want to get this one. Also, I love that new ghost tail thing the main villain has, it’s gorgeous! That said, I’m looking at the way the opening feature also transforms it and imagining it as like a big trap, where some hapless person or vehicle stops in front of the castle (maybe the ghost hunting mech from the Fire Truck?) and then the castle leans forward, opens up wide and eats them. I really hope that happens in the show it’d be amazing. Also, I’m looking at the Supernatural Racecar again and remembering what I originally thought it would be; an actual car possessed by ghosts, in the same vein as the train last year. Wouldn’t that be an amazing set? A normal (though naturally oversized) car capable of being possessed and turning into . . I don’t know, some kind of giant ghost dog or something? Fingers crossed there’s more waves so something like that can happen.
  23. If you can see the pictures then can you ave it and post it to Instagram?
  24. How long is that period of exclusivity supposed to be again? Because they showed up in AUS in February . . or is that the thing where Asia and Oceania are considered part of the same region?
  25. Forgive me for speculating, but isn’t it weird that they did LEGO Batman, from three years ago, and not TLM2? . . . Could this mean a LEGO Batman Movie 2?
