Beautiful facade, great choice and posing of minifigs, and a good story to go with it - excellently done! A kid in the custody of a religious institution? What could possibly go wrong?

Mesabi Landing suddenly jumped to 75 residences (from 39), is that correct?

[COR ML] Mesabi Landing - North Quarter
Darnok replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Forgot to update this with Green Street #3, home of Eduardo Sarno: -
Pretty sweet little build. I love how much you got out of the little "story shots" - the last being my favourite (those faces! ). Well done!
-
A local T'r'U had the "Ninjago City Harbour" on sale for 165€ (instead of 230€). I could not resist.

Fair enough, thanks for the quick response.

@Bregir @Roadmonkeytj First of all: thank you once again for the work you put in here. Another turn with interesting options for me - and pretty quick. Well done, please send my regards to the whole team! A question that was not adressed by the GMs is the messenger pigeon I sent home last turn. Did it make it through? If so: would you approve sending another WTC ship being sent, to arrive in time for the next turn? I would like to send reinforcements in both men and materials. A build in Mesabi Landing would be part of this, as well as a ship with the ability to make the voyage in this amount of time (i.e. high range). I just need to know your opinions on this. Also @Bregir: there are those "Secret Info sent by PM" yet to be sent. I hope you can find the time soon.

Now that was even quicker than last time! What is up with the automatic settlement growth? From what I can see it did not happen for October or November (so far). Is that intentional?

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Darnok replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I had not thought about it - great idea! Prisoners could turn rocks from the rock quarry into bricks, paving tiles and stuff like that. Hard physical work, repetitive and tiresome - perfect for prisoners! I would have to put a bigger focus on the work being shown, but I really like this approach to a prison. Thank you for the inspiration! P.S.: Basically a continuation of what @Ayrlego did in another form. -

Will do. While it makes sense to have prison cells as part of a fort - I did it in both of mine so far, Fort Mesabi as well as West Shield - a prison on its own does not have the properties of a fort in my opinion. It does not provide any protection, it is not a military structure meant to fight off anybody (at least not from the outside ). Funnily, the only category I found to describe a prison well enough is the residence: -

@Bregir @Capt Wolf @Legostone What property type would a prison be? It would be for the WTC, so no "governmental building" (i.e. art and culture). -

Sweet build! Sorry to hear about the breakage, but it turned out nice in the end. I think the second rail line on the ground could use some more activity, but overall it is a rather busy scene. Well done! Man, not even the WTC eats a horse on the spot just because! Most of the time...- 8 replies

Thank you everybody for the kind comments! Can a honest minifig not wear something of blue colour without being assoiciated with those crooks?

[WTCM] WTC Monthly - Issue 11, October 618
Darnok replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Mesabi had an article featuring the Padre which I thought was quite a bit too extreme. I think you just made sure I will rethink my decision. -
The festivities known as "Oktoberfest" - most prominently those in Weelond - are popular all over the Brick Seas. So it should surprise nobody that a large settlement like Mesabi Landing would have an Oktoberfest of its own - good food and some beer where really the only reasons the WTC needed! Providing an actually drinkable alternative to the dishwater-claiming-to-be-beer "Bru-Haha", the WTC was selling its very own "Brickburger" - the best lager of the Prio Seas! The sales stand was busy... ... for the line of thirsty customers was always long. . It is a social event for everybody... ... the upper class... ... as well as common people and their kids. . The attractions were manifold - as long as you were willing to pay of course! . And maybe, just maybe, too much beer was not a good idea. Drink responsibly! In the end, the Oktoberfest in Mesabi Landing was enjoyed by (almost) everyone. A tradition in the making? =================================================================================================== Licensed as a medium commerce property for Mesabi Landing. Two more views: As always, C&C are appreciated!

The Oktoberfest in Weelond was not just some social event - no, it was the social event. At least for Mrs. Smith, at least right now. What to wear? What had the wardrobe to offer? "I can not possibly wear red! That would be so 617!" Mrs. Smith lamented... Meanwhile, Mr. Smith had to wait downstairs: Patience was a virtue... ... but why not start drinking early? Oktoberfest! . Was the time worth waiting? Of course it was, Mrs. Smith looked stunning in her dirndl! Off to the festivities now, the Oktoberfest was waiting! ====================================================================================== Better late than never - but I could not not post something for the Oktoberfest minichallenge! Instead of the usual, some scenes of preparing for the Oktoberfest in a residence. To be licensed as a small residence for Weelond shortly Done. A minifig-less picture of the house front: As always, C&C are appreciated.
