  1. The "Red Rogues" have just arrived in Bastion:
  2. After the disappointment that was the Paradise Isles Cup - having won the game, but not able to claim the cup - the Red Rogues were heading for Bastion. They were shooting for a win of the BoBS Tournament Soccer Cup, so the goal was clear (lame puns intended! ). After the long journy from Mesabi Landing, the team was stretching its legs near Bastions harbour: The owner of the "Twin Crabs Pub" gave them a curious look... ... while the coach had to fend of an overly ambitious salesman ("Fresh apples, fresh fish! Newly stolen just this morning from a MAESTRO ship!"): Spirits were high, and nobody in the team could wait for the tournament to start! ====== Bird's eye view: ===== The required team picture: ================================================================================ This is my entry for this years BTSC. Many thanks to @dr_spock for organizing the whole thing. Some shots of the build from afar and behind (i.e. "the ugly side"): As always, C&C are welcome!
  3. It was a sunny day on the Brick Seas, the winds were kind. The Misfortune's Wrath had finally set sail from Alexport under its new flag, en route to its new home port: Mesabi Landing. The ship had been won in an auction months ago, but ongoing diplomatic troubles in Prio had led to this delay. Since hostilities seemed to be low these days, the WTC finally took to Prio, recruited a crew, and sailed the Misfortune's Wrath out of harms way - who knew when the crisis might heat up again? One WTC Marine was eager to fire one (or all) of the ships many carronades on something... ... while another one had a much more relaxed work ethic: The captain and crew of the Misfortune's Wrath were the finest men the WTC could find in Prio. Only the most trustworthy, best of the best: . Meanwhile, the captains cabin was still full of the previous shipowners belongings - among other things a chest full of different flags. Hooray, they could be useful one day! . So the Misfortun'e Wrath sailed on, towards many future adventures! =============================================================================================== Finally! This thing has been sitting almost-but-not-completely-done-and-without-minifigs-n-stuff on my table for weeks. It is the MOC for the Misfortune's Wrath won by Mesabi Landing in this Mays auction. It is based on the 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty: I combined two sets to build this MOC, keeping several features of the official Lego model, while also changing a lot of things. The Misfortune's Wrath comes with eight 24-pounders, two massive 36-pounders in the back and four carronades in the front. As usual, I included a lot of "play features", like the rotating big cannons, or a captains cabin that can be opened for easy access: As usual, C&C are welcome! P.S.: We are still waiting for that build-off, @Capt Wolf!
  4. Nice builds, especially the ash-covered coast scene. The story is the star though - really nice continuation to the overall storyline already, and setting up the direction for the future. I am very much looking forward to more of this cooperation!
  5. The Lego City christmas calender, plus the HP Aragog set, and a HP CMF to push my purchase over 40€ - which got me the Ninjago Bricktober set.
  6. A very interesting development. I am looking forward to how this continues.
  7. So commiting warcrimes against honourable citizens of Corrington is a posible reason to gain nobility in Oleon? Interesting... This ominous Mr. Rimbaud has to answer for a lot in court instead!
  8. The official pictures will be up in a few hours. I for one will wait, instead of looking at - possibly low quality - "leaks". Did that once with last years Diner... ugh.
  9. Good point. There is a big stone quarry in Mesabi Landing, and the WTC is happy to deal with anybody. Another option is to do a build that focuses on the production side of stonework - maybe by doing not only bricks, but statues and similar things too - and make it an artisan.
  10. A stone quarry is a possible result for prospecting. So you can not build one without having a bit of luck first.
  11. Deadpool 2, really liked it.
  12. A big "Thank you!" to all our mods: you do a great job keeping the spam at bay!
  13. In theory the automatic growth makes a lot of sense. A settlement growing on its own is a very realistic feature - but not at all size levels. In reality, settlements tend to grow for a while, then run onto a "plateau", then possibly shrink or grow, depending on factors outside of its influence. How about implementing this by leaving the automatic growth factor as it is for levels Large Town and City, but changing the current system for bigger settlements? I also like the idea of linking player driven growth to the automatic growth.
  14. Lego has an online store, get what you want there. And you can not blame Lego for something if only your local store is to fault for a lack of supply...
  15. I always thought of Oleon soldiers as the Redshirts of BotBS.
  16. You must be new here. And canes! Deadly weapons they are!
  17. There is this and this for Creator, and at least this, this and this in the Friends line - all currently available. Not a massive lineup, but far from "dropped".
  18. Hilarious build, well done!
  19. Nice little build, and good storytelling. The miners faces are just perfect! Well done!
  20. Nicely done, thanks! What was up with Breshaun though? No growth for five month, then a sudden massive spike upwards? Breshaun is also the best example for the biggest settlement staying ahead by (almost) nothing but automatic growth. There were only six properties licensed for Breshaun in the last twelve months, amounting to only 12 points of settlement size. Breshaun has still almost doubled in size in the same timeframe, growing from 183 to 333 (150 points). For reference: in the same timeframe, Mesabi Landing grew from 7 to 164 (157 points), but most of it came from "player work".
  21. Dear Oleanders: what is up with @Kolonialbeamter? He has been last online over half a year ago. Could somebody with contacts outside of EB let us know if he is okay and when - if at all - he will return to BotBS? He is being missed.
  22. Yay! First of all: thanks for hosting this. I look forward to some funny builds and an interesting tournament. One question though: can a player enter more than one team? Last year that was possible, but it would obviously give you much higher chances for a - pretty nice! - price the more teams you have. Another two questions regarding Bastion: I assume none of the tournament is hampered by "regular" diplomacy, meaning IC teams from any nation are free to act as they please as long as it does not include (serious) crimes? Is it allowed and/or encouraged to license tournament builds for Bastion? Right now only SR players can license properties in Bastion, will this restriction be lifted for the duration of the BTSC?
  23. @Mesabi Nice, thanks a lot! "One option" means one of the five subpoints, not "Explore..." or "Repair and...", correct? Also: what effort is needed to gain the island information and rumours?
  24. Awesome, that was super quick! I noticed that the 30 troops I have raised yesterday (using this build) do not show up anywhere. Did I do something wrong with the licensing?
  25. Absolutely brillant! Well done!
