  1. The whole cosntruction would fall apart if we are talking real bricks. Assuming you can build those plate-sails by using added hinges or holding them in place by strings, those masts would still never hold their weight. I think the flag should be the least of the concerns here.
  2. I just noticed the same problem, with "Summer_2016", "Autumn_2016", "Winter_2016", "Spring_2017" and "Autumn_2017".
  3. Shush you, this one is ours! And please keep your violent protests on the streets!
  4. Fabulous job on both of them! I like the choice of colours and the overall design of both ships. The "brickbuilt" flags are awesome! Without a doubt a fine addition to Her majestys fleet. Well done! I would go for at least one point of cargo, that way they can serve some purpose out of fights, i.e. trading. Without cargo space you can also not transport any troops - something to consider for the future (raids etc.).
  5. Day 4 - Getting the packages ready The first presents being done, the attention now shifted to the packaging. The Big Book mentioned presents coming in colourful boxes - so boxes had to be coloured! Some WTC Marines were already at work, while another is... not as motivated in face of all the boxes yet to come. .
  6. Thanks both of you for the suggestions, I will see what I can do.
  7. Aye, this would be the solution I would prefer as well.
  8. Most likely @Phred, maybe @Legostone, @Capt Wolf and/or @Bregir: Is there an easy way to list a players troops over all locations? Something like the land property listing. I am not entirely sure where all my troops are located right now, same goes for some licensed by the WTC and possibly Mesabi Landing. P.S.: I am of course aware of th Account Summary. But it does not tell whose player troops belong to (when shown for a settlement) or where they are located (for player accounts).
  9. Day 3 - For the kids! With the workshop properly set up, the work had started. One of the first products to be finished was a miniaturised horse butchery, complete with horse models an some mechanism to "slaughter" them. The gears for this mechanism were currently handcrafted, but Chrissis was amazed by how good the models looked already. . WTC Horse Slaughter House Rid the Brick Seas of a dangerous menace that terrorises innocent minifigs everywhere: evil horses! Comes with two horse models and a miniature butchery with mechanical play feature. Get the horses into the butchery, pull the trigger and shred the beasts! For kids!
  10. I am kind of in the same boat, and share these feelings. What he said!
  11. Day 2 - Furnishing the workshop The ground floor had be redecorated a little bit, since more room was needed: to set up a proper workshop, tools, tables and chairs were brought in: . Mordo wondered about an arrangement of green on a big central table: "What is this now?" Chrissi explained: "The big book mentions something called advent wreath. Each of the four sundays before Merrynight you lit one candle, and today is the first of these Sundays."
  12. If you mean Bricklink: I used this frame with this insert (coming from the current Hogwarts Great Hall).
  13. The story continues! Shush you! Onto the Naughty-list you go! Aye, I like it a lot. Comes from the Dreadfleet boardgame by Games Workshop. We will see where this goes...
  14. This mini-challenge is now up: your can post your entries from now until January 6th, 2019. And while I am not participating here, I still have something merrynighty going on. I hope for many more ideas from you folks! P.S.: Could somebody please have this pinned for the rime being? @Bregir @Legostone @Capt Wolf? Thanks in advance!
  15. Day 1 - Setting up the decorations Mordo was grumpy, as usual. "What is all this fuss about, and why is there shiny stuff everywhere?" he snapped at a WTC Marine. "Sir, you remember that boat we found just days ago? Examining this big book we learned a lot about Merrynight and all things around it. It demands proper decoration - as ayou can see here. We could not yet find an appropriate tree, as is written in Chapter 23, but we are working on it!" Still grumpy, Mordo looked around the room: "What is that other stuff all about?" "Sir, we have yet to learn about the bag in the corner. Chapter 2 asks for freshly baked cookies and a glass of milk at all times though. We could not get milk - no cows in all of Mesabi Landing! - so took a bottle of good beer instead. Sir, we have lots to do, if you excuse me!" ... and off he went. Chrissi, one of the WTC Operators, approached Mordo: "Sir, this whole thing seems to be about presents to be delivered for Merrynight. I believe we should take up this task, do as the book tells it. Presents for every minifig in the Brick Seas. This could be a great opportunity for the WTC! Think of the free advertisement we can get with this be putting a leaflet into each box!" As grumpy as ever, Mordo nodded approvingly: "Alrighty then Chrissi. Set up the production here, and get everybody to work on this. I want daily updates! And while we are at it: do some promotion in out WayMart stores. People are supposed to buy, buy, buy - that's the Merrynight spirit!"
  16. The WTC Advent Calendar 2018 Prelude Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 Day 8 Day 9 Day 10 Day 11 Day 12 Day 13 Day 14 Day 15 Day 16 Day 17 Day 18 Day 19 Day 20 Day 21 Day 22 Day 23 Day 24 Merrynight is near, same as each year. Minifigs all over the Brick Seas prepare for the festivities, and the WTC has found an early present. What will they make of it? You will find out here, one episode a day!
  17. I would be happy with a police station - it would make perfect sense for the Modular line. I think that the WV Firestation is an excellent starting point for a small Modular already, so I see no need for another fire station (and there is the Fire Brigade, so...). Some garage style building would be not so great in my opinion. If I remember correctly, there are only two cars over all Modulars so far. So what does this line need a mechanics garage for? But we will see on Monday. I am confident that the new Modular will not disappoint, no matter what it turns out to be.
  18. OP is updated with all the pictures! Thanks for the comments so far.
  19. It would be great if we had some way of knowing where ships were attacked, and by whom... nomnomnom, just curious. Just kidding, but: KPA?
  20. Mesabi Landing was growing and growing, and the relative shortage of horses meant people needed other ways to get from one point of the large city to another. So the already existing industrial railway was expanded, to allow for public transportation without hindering existing railroads. One of those public railway lines was Green Line, going right through the center of Mesabi Landing. One of its stations is next to Market Street, buzzing with activity: Waiting at the station... ... for the train to arrive. . While some still could still catch this one... ... others have to wait for the next train! . On Market Street itself, minifigs had many choices of where to spend their hard-earned dubloons: You could buy some tasty pizza to take away... ... or take some time and enjoy it on the roof with friends: . While inside, new pizzas were produced to keep up with the high demand: . How about a new haircut? Why not get the Argentia dust cleaned off your shiny shoes? . Further down the road you can find an expert hatmaker, selling his latest creations: . And while some customers discuss the hatmakers offering in front of the shop, Mordo of the WTC visits a mapmaker on the other side of the street... . ... discussing the origins and meaning of some maps he has recently aquired: . Upstairs, the mapmakers working room: Speaking of the WTC - they are recruiting! Minifigs from all ways of life are eager to join the glorious WTC: . ==================================================================================================================== Licensed as a large artisan for Mesabi Landing. The footprint is 32x72, which is equivalent to 48x48. The railway in Mesabi Landing has been used in over a dozen builds now (13 to be precise!), but public transport has not yet been among them. This was something I wanted to change for some time now. Such a public transport needs to bring the public somewhere meaningful, so the idea was early one to have a station right next to a busy street of some sorts. While a lot of things changed over the course of building this, I am still reasonably happy with the result. Could it be prettier? Of course it could! But as usual I value playability higher than looks - and that "boxy building style" is also something of a feature for Mesabi Landing already. Some birdeye views, including an "all roofs off" shot: As for "artisans" in this build, we have: industrial railroad transportation service by the WTC public railroad transportation service, including a station a pizza restaurant (production and sale) a map maker (production and sale) a hat maker (production and sale) a barber a shoeshine boy On top of all that, there is a recruitment stand for the WTC - this build does double duty for troop recruitment! Many thanks to @gedren_y for letting his Crahaish neh Triuri share some maps with the WTC. While I am not yet sure what story they will end up in, it is something I am willing to work on! As always, all C&C are welcome!
  21. Just off the coast of Argentia, close to Mesabi Landing, a boat was found drifting. Nobody was found aboard, but a bag and a big book - their origin unknown: What could this mean?
  22. A fine MOC indeed, and fitting the style of Jameston perfectly. Looking forward to the idea of plantations "up in the mountains". Especially for hops, since I would love to have some proper beer production in Mesabi Landing as well! I guess this one would be a factory though, it fits into the defining description of the category: But to be fair: the lines between artisans and factories are pretty blurry...
  23. If this means what I think it is supposed to mean, you still fail to provide even a single proof. P.S.: You should quote a WTCM article, state where it is factually incorrect, and provide evidence for your claim - just to be clear. P.P.S.: Since I interpret your quote as "all 12 issues of the WTCM are proof" ... good luck, I expect your hard evidence!
  24. Thanks for the facts, those are all I need. Show me a single case of the contrary.
  25. Asking again @Bregir: where is Montoya after this, and who knows of his return? I would like to cover some of these events in the WTCM, but to me it is unclear what can be considered common knowledge in IC terms, and what not. I am sure you are not exactly thrilled about Montoya showing up in the WTCM, but you can not run away forever!
