=================================================================================== Another issue done! many thanks to Oleon and the Sea Rats for providing this issues "main topics" special thanks to @Roadmonkeytj for giving me an excellent summary and some suggestions regarding the Charlatan Bay situation regarding last years Oktoberfest, the quotes relate to this and this story (by @Professor Thaum and @Roadmonkeytj) I decided to keep the incentives for Mesabi Landing going, despite nobody using them yet - maybe that changes one day! I hope you enjoy the read, comments and criticism are welcome and appreciated as always.

[ESL A-MRCA] Expedition to the New Haven Sea
Darnok replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great to see the expedition continue. You really want to colour the western New Haven Sea full green it seems! Nice builds to go with the story, I like the inn in particular. Looking forward to the next chapter already!- 49 replies

[GoC - Sloops for the RN] Class 3 Cutter

Good looking ship, and not at all "limited". I like it a lot, well done! And you're methodically working through the GoC tasks in order, aye? -
Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
Darnok replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
And don't bother with the rules too much in the beginning. We had people wandering into the rules section and never saw them again... Focus on building and storytelling, and let your fellow Sea Rats guide you. -
Cheer all ye minifigs, for we are celebrating the birthday of Queen Annetta, the anniversary of Her first assembly! In honour of this most joyful event, every year in the days and weeks after the autumn equinox, celebrations and parades are held. In settlements all over the homeland and the colonies minifigs come together and revel. Those living near the Queens palace might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of her, if she is watching the main parade from a balcony high above: The festivities are happening in most of the settlements in the Brick Seas under Corringtons rule. Here we see the parade in Quinnsville: Against the backdrop of the typical stucco style building found in Port Woodhouse, Corlander Grenadiers from the garrison march in honour of Her Majesty. With a stone foundation and colourful timber upper floor, Corlander Light Infantry and ETTC Sepoys march through the well developed streets of Jameston. Elevated on a boardwalk over the shallows of one of the many rivulets surrounding Camp Isaac, Royal Pioneers with their distinctive blue trousers wait stationary for the parade to begin. Residences watch from the wooden houses constructed on the banks. Corlander Line Infantry march past the sandstone buildings of Mooreton Bay. The influx of Mardierian refugees to nearby New Haven has also made it's mark on Mooreton Bay with a much more Mardieran style being noted recently in the settlement. Queen's Own Hussar's mounted on local horses led the parade in Elizabethville, followed by local militia in their distinctive red trousers. The village like feel of the settlement is reflected in the inn which they are currently marching past. In Port Raleigh, starting in the docks, Royal Marines led and are followed by local militia in their distinctive brown tricornes. Outside of the Lotii district, the buildings of Port Raleigh mostly have an old world feel - not surprising as Port Raleigh was both the first Corlander settlement and is the western most in Terra Nova if you do not include Arlinsport (which pre-dates the exploration era). [...] ==================== This is a cooperation open to all Corrington players, intended to represent the birthday celebrations of the Queen. Here is how you can participate: Build a scene showing the citizens of Corrington celebrating the Queens birthday in whatever way you want to. Start a thread showing your build, and tell a story of the festivities. Post here with a link to your thread... ... so I can edit this OP accordingly, including your scene among all others. Additionally, if you want to build your scene as part of the GoC initiative, you can then also post a link to your thread over there. Which category is the best fit for your build is a decision that highly depends on its details - many of them could fit though, get creative! If, for whatever reasons, your build has been posted here, yet not included in the OP after a few days: please send me a PM and I will sort it out as soon as possible. Enjoy the builds and stories, and all hail Queen Annetta and the Crown of Corrington!

Shipwrights Guild Hall (WIPs, feedback, and advice)
Darnok replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think the masts look find, no need to change anything in my opinion. That rigging... wow. Amazing work, it must have taken ages. Great results though, I am very much looking forard to the final pictures! -

There is a current "space theme", via the City line. I do agree with all of your points in general, I just want to point out that with SW and the City space line there just is no room for yet another space theme - right now. That could very well change as early as 2020.

Weirdly enough, HS sets were on solid discounts for as long as I have seen them. That includes a time when it wasn't even on sale in the Lego store nearby, believe it or not. Right now we seem to be in a "sale before Christmas season"-season, since a lot of Lego sets are discounted at the usual suspects. But a month ago only HS was - make of that what you will. I really hpe it is just heavy advertisement, since I so want this line to succeed. The app is of no interest to me, but the sets are just fresh and great. I love the Hidden Side theme, and want to see it for years to come!

Yesterday, but: 76125 Iron Man Hall Of Armour, 60234 Fun Fair and 60225 Rover Testing Drive. On heavy discount, couldn't resist.

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion, ERA II
Darnok replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Welcome, great to have you around! You would usually post a picture of your sigfig together with its background story. Many people also build a scene or two showing the previous life of their character, or how it arrived in the Brick Seas - but that's not a necessity. Get in contact with @dr_spock, @Kwatchi or @Professor Thaum, they are your lead pira free spirits. -
LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Darnok replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for linking to those videos, nice to have. Can't say I'm impressed by any of the upcoming sets, other than maybe the Falcon (for being properly closed after 20 years). I have none of the versions before, so just might fall for this one... -
[Sep FB1] Dockside Warehouse, Port Raleigh
Darnok replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
By now I expect nothing but excellence from your builds, and once again you do not disappoint. Great MOC, well done! The variety in buildings on such a small space is awesome, makes it look very "alive". All those different materials used work out great. I can't wait to see this in another scene! -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Darnok replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
PC was released more than six years ago, and has not been in the market for almost two years now. So that argument is moot. I sort of hope for something china-inspired, as that could kill two birds with one stone: provide some new visual style to the Modular series and also cater to the growing Chinese market. -
And if your phone was new enough for the app to work you would be (rightfully) annoyed that the Juice Bar is not featured in it.

I just think that the crossover nature of KH would suit itself well to a Lego adaptation - and a vast selection of Disney minifigs is already around. There was also this little spaceship in the first KH game that was built from blocks, so the videogame tied in to Lego from the very beginning. Oh, the possibilities!
-
Another great ship build of yours! I especially like the rear hull, but it is an overall awesome MOC, well done.

Nice video, quite some insights. Lots of Nintendo stuff seems to be allowed. As is "Kingdom Hearts" - which would have some great potential in Lego form in my opinion!
-
There was some great stuff going on at the time. I am very sad that these all came out through my Dark Age - I hope for a revival sooner ratehr than later!
-
Excellent progression of the story, and some lovely builds to go with it. Seems like Oleon is here to stay, despite those claims. Said every invader ever. I already have typed an article up for the upcoming WTCM, so I guess there is even more to come from this later on. Sweet!
-
That's a good price for this set. I feel you about the contents: nice minifigs, great parts, just the speeder build is... odd. Finally got the Snoke guard battlepack (75225) for 12€.

[LOGO Contest] Design the official BoBS Logo!
Darnok replied to Roadmonkeytj's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think this deserves a little more attention. A bit more than ten days to go! -
Lego has done sets around the original trilogy nonstop for 20 years now - I see no reason at all why they would or should stop. Episode 9 is to be supported until mid 2020, followed by multiple TV/streaming shows for years to come. Add more stuff from the original trilogy, Clone Wars and the prequels, and I have no illusions about Lego SW slowing down in the next five or so years. It is not what I want, just what I expect.
