  1. Another issue with my Drunknok account: there are 80DB in license expenses listed, but nothing later than from January 2019 shows up in the license listing. The Merrymas Market license is 75DB (large commerce), not 80DB. So... eh? Something went wrong I guess. Did any license pricing change? Nothing is worth 80DB, and I definitely did not license a small residence (5DB) lately (which would add up with a 75DB large license). Weird.
  2. Thanks for the quick response, most helpful. Yeah, I figured out somethign like this. This Wikipedia article on nobility and ranks was a most interesting read for me, and seems to be what you have implemented. Also: it is worded as "honorary XXX" for the nobility titles, but I assume it is proper IC nobility?
  3. I have some questions, both about technicalities as well as about ingame aspects: Can one build cover multiple tasks? Like combining education (#5) and Myzec (#10), or Lotii (#8) and "sugar in Port Raleigh" (#6)? I assume the answer is "no", since the titles assume three distinct builds per task, but the question stands. Can builds from the same task be licensed together, assuming each individual one would count on its own? For example three 20x20 builds for the education task (#5), later licensed as one medium property (combined size = 1200 studs, i.e. medium). What is the exact relation of the titles granted to the existing IC nobility of Corrington? In particular: where is the rank of Count on this scale? Asking for the friend of a friend who just might want to "outrank" Count Mesabi one day. Edit: Calling both @Ayrlego as the organiser and @Bregir as faction leader here. Especially question #3 might be of interest for some faction summary in general.
  4. I was aware of the different thems, just not that we had a new "Pirates 2019" one. So cool! Thanks for pointing this out, even by accident. Still getting used to it, but this is so much better than before already.
  5. Brilliant build, as always from you @Ayrlego! The variety in colours and structures is well balanced with the pretty clean look you have set for Port Woodhouse. The "windmill" section looks impressive, and can only guess how annoying it must have been to do that in LDD. An overall great MOC, well done! If I had to raise an eyebrow, I would ask how and why that poor soldier got onto the roof - there seems to be no skylight or ladder.
  6. Aye, don't get too hung up about the age of parts. As long as they are clean - i.e. not covered in dust, which really drags down the look of a MOC a lot in my opinion - there is nothing wrong with using bricks older than the current Lego core demographic. Black and grey are also a nice basis to work off, most basic structures weren't fancy and colourful in the Age of Sail. And last, but by no means least: going for "a more classic look" by using many old parts always warms my heart. Don't get me wrong: the variety in shapes and colours done by Lego over the last decade is awesome and all, but I appreciate the style of the 80s or 90s just as much.
  7. I think it is a great thing to do this - the result will be a boon to this community for sure! Sadly I completely suck at all things image editing, so will sit this one out.
  8. Isn't the point of hideouts - at least in parts - that the sips there are not public knowledge? Because any mail solution would be accessible to anybody (like right now with the license listing), so it should really only cover public destinations.
  9. I would consider this 1x1 slope to be a reasonable approximation. Not ideal, but close enough for me. Black or grey would work, and it is also available in different metallics.
  10. Wow! I only glanced over the text at first, but this will go into favourites for future study. There is some great stuff in here, thanks for taking the time to compile this. Well done!
  11. Assuming the theme survives for more than a year, I believe Lego will do different colours and types for ghosts. The current ones are all light green, and it is a good looking, coherent style - but it might get boring after a while. The VR section already has ghosts in blue and red on top of green, right? Those would be an obvious addition in minifig form at some point. In terms of currently available alternatives, I think the Ninjago line - especially the current "ice samurai" - has some brilliant parts that already would work well if one was to do "blue ghosts" instead of "green ghosts".
  12. In theory, yes. It can get annnoying when you have to check 4+ issues of KPA though - try finding ships that have not sailed for longer than a year - it doesn't cover ships that have not saled yet, and KPA does not list the locations of ships in hideouts. In the end it is a comparably minor issue though. Can I live with how things are? Of course. Would I like an easier solution? Aye! A great idea! It does not cover the "ships in hideouts" part, but other than that it sounds perfect to me.
  13. Is there an echo in here?
  14. True for any of them, and PR is older. Unless they are retiring both sets, PR is the more likely candidate due to being around longer.
  15. If I then know where all my ships are at a given time, it would be a price I was willing to pay!
  16. I fear I might return for more cups later this week - the current PaB selection is awesome.
  17. It would definitely be worth the effort. Finding ships by digging through multiple KPA issues and asking in different threads is annoying at best, and downright frustrating at worst. The same is true for the location of troops and/or armies, which have no tracking system that I know of at all. So if anybody is up for this task: your work would help solve a genuine problem of the game, and be much appreciated!
  18. Unless there is a sequel for the movie (doubtful since the first one didn't do that well), I seriously dout there will ever be anything added to this line. I would love to be proven wrong though!
  19. I'm talking about THE Lego Store, the one where you can get stuff like this:
  20. Another beautiful build of yours, I like it a lot! The building itself is nicely done, with the small tower breaking up the otherwise possibly monotonuous sillhouette. What really raises it to the next level - both figurativel and literally - is the base though. The irregular shape as well as the different ways the ground rises - pathway and vegetation and rocks - make the whole MOC stand out. Really well done!
  21. I can not recommend Bricklink highly enough. Just compare prices, and check the terms and conditions of each store when it comes to postage costs - some try to rip you off in that field. Also check out the Lego Store in Berlin. It has a fairly large "Pick a Brick"-section, which I frequently used in the past (and am about to do so again this week ). Chances are you find something useful, and you can't get parts any cheaper.
  22. The Creator Expert Detective's Office (10246) had an excellent pub, but is sadly out of production (since last year I think?). You might still find it in some places, but check the price so you don't get ripped off. What you can get for free, and directly from Lego, are the building instructions for the set. This might give you some inspiration.
  23. A small question regarding Mesabi Landing. Again, sorry. I noticed a mismatch in licensed Comemrce properties, and that the licensing process of the WTC Offices seems to have gone wrong and/or was missed previously. I tried to license it for the WTC yesterday, and the DB were deducted from the account accordingly - but it does not show up in the settlement summary yet (commerce properties for ML should be 37 now, not 34). Is this a new thing? In the past properties showed up (almost) immediately after licensing.
  24. Updated the OP with a link to the Brick Seas News Archive - for those interested in older issues or other newspapers from the Brick Seas. Aye, the winds are blowing stronger again it seems, and more sails can be seen on the Brick Seas. Don't expect any MOCs directly related to this though, as it is more a collection of events that are either already represented by some, or are about to get builds by others. Thanks! Looking forward to another newspaper getting dusted off, fantastic news to me! Well, new editor and new ways. Miss Brickson will surely find her own style over time.
  25. ========================================================================= We are back! Catching up with some of the current stories will take a while... ... @Roadmonkeytj: Charlatan Bay deserves the attention, and I want to do it justice! Many thanks to @gedren_y for his inspiration. Many excuses to @Ross Fisher and @Keymonus for shamelessly jumping on their stories. I don't know why, but I just had to do something related to oranges for the recipe... If you want to read older issues of the WTCM, or other newspapers of the Brick Seas, check out the Brick Seas News Archive. I hope you like what you read, C&C are welcome as always!
