LEGO Collectable Minifigure Accessories Wishlist
Digger of Bricks replied to lifeinplastic's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ah, thanks for the clarification, I wasn't aware there were two variant designs! Well, if a Rocketeer-inspired CMF were to stick to a preexisting part, I feel they'd instead give such a figure the old Clone Trooper blaster from the 2008 Clone Wars sets, as it more closely resembles a Luger/Mauser than Lego's semi-automatic mold. Nah, the design of the Retro Spaceman's raygun mold is much too particular to the design sensibilities of the 1930's for a '60s-inspired Space archetype. If anything, Lego's original raygun mold introduced for Series 1's Spaceman would be a much more fitting preexisting complement for such a CMF, as its smaller profile comes closer to a sleek Star Trek Phaser than the larger, more cartoony design of the latter. -

Unless it's too specific to the Star Trek IP, it'd also be cool to see a future CMF introduce a '60s-style "Phaser" mold of some sort! -
Well, thinking about this a little further, rather than just giving those users a specific designation automatically, perhaps a topic for TLG Designers requesting such a rank could be started, similar to @Jipay's Girls, Stand Up! in its intention.

Yeah, why couldn't they just have gone the direction of either the Party Bus (i.e. Trans-Purple) or Mayhem's Starship (i.e. Trans-Pink)? I enthusiastically agree, though I'd personally hope to see such a theme have a combined Planetary Romance/Exploration-based premise, where galactic adventurers discover and explore such advanced extraterrestrial societies.

I personally don't think it'd be that big of a deal, as the original Batman theme from 2006 did give us both a "Tommy" gun and a semi-automatic with 55707: -

I'd hope to see some sorta Luger Pistol mold introduced in the near future, as it'd be the perfect complementary handgun accessory for Pulp Adventurer archetypes and characters such as The Rocketeer! -

You've most welcome!!! Here's to wishing you the best of luck in your journey towards ten thousand supporters! There is a @Namirob here on EB, though he hasn't ever posted, so I'm not sure whether or not if it's the same person. AWESOME!!!- 532 replies

By the way, I meant to ask about this recently yet forgot, but is this CMF's design inspired after Alexandre Boudon's BigFig concept art by any chance?

Strangely enough, I've felt pretty much the exact same way for some time now in regards to in-house versus licensed offerings overall, as upon introspection, I find that sentiment to be at odds with how I would've otherwise felt when I was younger. I mean, despite still having an affinity for the Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones movies, I'm rather jaded by both as Lego themes for some reason. Oh, that's right, I think I remember hearing about that. It was in promotion of that LEGO Legacy game, wasn't it?

Very good point, I missed this addition to your initial reply! Say, as another suggestion, what if a similar such rank was given to EB members who's LEGO Ideas submissions achieved support and were approved for production in review? In lieu of "Product Designer" for TLG employees, how about a title of "Product Creator" for those members in particular? Well, looking back at some of Jamie's and Marcos's previous content in context, they didn't seem to have been met with that much negativity from others; rather, most gave them praise and gratitude for all they've done!
-
Certainly, though the few that I'm aware are EB members hardly ever come by to visit. For instance, both @jamieberard and @marcosbessa last visited this forum back in 2016, though Mark Stafford (i.e. @Nabii) was just here only a week ago. Hmmm, perhaps he could personally ask other designers for their input on such?

Has anyone here caught wind of this new initiative LAN will be launching in August? While the language is vague, it kinda sounds like LEGO Ideas, but on a much larger scale to say the least; so, perhaps it may be a promising platform for those wishing to pitch their idea for a new sub-system of parts to TLG!
