What is your favorite Lego Theme?
Digger of Bricks replied to Foreman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I too have a thing for both the Three-In-One and Expert Creator lines, but not so much for their sets (even though many are pretty awesome), but for the very concept of the theme. I mean, how many Lego themes have restrictions as limited as Creator, as far as playset subject matter goes? From what it looks like, Creator can cover almost anything and everything! -
What franchise should Lego do next?
Digger of Bricks replied to frikandeloorlog's topic in General LEGO Discussion
One thing that I think should be done for a such set if it were made, is that Thomas himself would be built from Dark Azure bricks instead of Bright Blue ones. In normal light, the hue of traditional Lego blue (Bright Blue) is just too dark compared to his actual paint job. -

I'd suspect the latter reason if anything. It's still a shame though that they didn't take advantage of the license for at least one "L-Gauge" set. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If Lego were to attempt a train station for the modular building line, this is how I'd personally wish to see the tracks laid out. ...but, ultimately, this is how I'd prefer an Expert train station to be done, as a standalone build rather than a modular. -

Why hasn't Johnny Thunder come back?
Digger of Bricks replied to Takanuinuva's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'll just say, Pharaoh's Quest didn't necessarily box itself in as a one-year theme absolutely, as the line would've had many other sources of inspiration to cite from for future waves (if that were wished for by TLG). Egyptian mythology alone could've definitely offered that inspiration for future adventures; but still, that limited setting does prevent such a theme from being evergreen, whereas one of broader, global scope would've offered a line with a considerably longer lifespan. -
The LEGO Movie 2: References Predictions?
Digger of Bricks replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
...and Dumbledore in The Lego Movie before that. -
That's why he said "either", as the delaying of the movie is quite likely, but still not officially announced yet. If Lego were to do a Doctor Who CMS, I believe it wouldn't be completely comprised of Doctors, as they'd probably want to include at least a few other female characters besides the Thirteenth Doctor for gender variety. Do you think this topic may have been better discussed within this broader discussion instead? Many other custom CMS creations have been brought up and discussed there in the past:

The LEGO Movie 2: References Predictions?
Digger of Bricks replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
That's true. You know, I could also argue that the purported "Space" setting of the sequel could be very accommodating for the appearance of a Doctor in the movie, to whatever degree that would be. -
What franchise should Lego do next?
Digger of Bricks replied to frikandeloorlog's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I really do wish the Thomas the Tank Engine franchise were up for grabs, as it was my very first obsession while growing up. But, not only does Mattel have exclusive licensing to the franchise, they practically OWN it. -
What is your favorite Lego Theme?
Digger of Bricks replied to Foreman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As far as licensed themes go, I'd say they'd have to be DC Comics SuperHeroes, Indiana Jones, and all three of the tie-in themes for the movies in the Lego Cinematic Universe seen so far. -
Inspirational Modular and Castle MOCs

Not only does this have an interestingly constructed roof, I didn't immediately recognize those half-wheelwell parts used above the front doors. Clever NPU!- 817 replies

What is your favorite Lego Theme?
Digger of Bricks replied to Foreman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When it comes to the classics, it's a toss-up between either Space or Adventurers. For more recent, smaller scaled action themes, again, it's yet another toss-up between either Space Police III or Atlantis, while my favorite "big bang" theme so far has to be Nexo Knights. Hey, great topic by the way! -
What franchise should Lego do next?
Digger of Bricks replied to frikandeloorlog's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've said this before elsewhere, but I think Universal Classic Monsters particularly would be a good franchise for Lego to look into, perhaps as a Collectable Minifigure line. Just give me old school Buck Rogers from the 1930's comic strip instead, with colorful, wacky, retrofuturistic spacesuits and rocketships! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I don't blame them, as that's pretty convincing mock-up box art there! An antique store would be a most eclectically wonderful choice! -
The LEGO Movie 2: References Predictions?
Digger of Bricks replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
The Twelfth Doctor was rumored early on to make, at the very least, a cameo appearance in the sequel; but since then, we've heard of at least one script rewrite, so he may or may not have been excluded from the film after the fact. I never figured myself that any of the theme's characters would've played a supporting role of they did appear, just a cameo if anything at all. -
Inspirational Modular and Castle MOCs
Digger of Bricks replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Town
As cool as this set-up is, I feel that lack of damage on the right side of the two columns just seems a little unrealistic, as I'd think there'd be a bit of a ripple effect causing a degree of damage (at least perhaps cracked/shattered window panes) on that one side.- 817 replies

What franchise should Lego do next?
Digger of Bricks replied to frikandeloorlog's topic in General LEGO Discussion
After the recent announcement of TLG's partnership with Blizzard for the Overwatch franchise, what other videogame licenses/franchises would you expect to see partnered with Lego in the near future, even if they were only a one-off thing for the BrickHeadz theme exclusively? -
The LEGO Movie 2: References Predictions?
Digger of Bricks replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I too think that their appearance is quite likely, not only because it's a Warner Brothers property, but also because WAG (Warner Animation Group) has a theatrical animated movie based upon the franchise coming the following year in 2020. Given the predominant role Finn's sister will be playing in this sequel, I definitely think it's safe to say that we will indeed see either the representation of the Friends theme or at least the appearance of some minidoll based characters. Well, not only are Will Arnett's Batman and Channing Tatum's Superman definitely returning, but Batman is a focal point for the sequel's plot, as he's the one being rescued from the bedroom of Finn's sister. But as far as other TLBM characters go, I'd guess that only Robin will end up being a prevalent tag-a-longer, if anything. -
Why hasn't Johnny Thunder come back?
Digger of Bricks replied to Takanuinuva's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've always thought of it as a homage-based reboot of the Adventurers theme, only that they seemingly intended for it to be a one-and-done love letter to the original line's debut year. Preferably, if Lego wanted to do a one year tribute to Adventurers, I would've liked to see a single wave composed of five to eight playsets each set within a different global location, kinda like how the first wave of Agents from 2008 had done it. You know, I'd kinda hope to see a new wave of sets based upon the original movies to precede the theatrical release of 2020's fifth instalment, preferably released either during the Fall of 2019 or January 2020 as a sort of warm-up for general consumers beforehand. -
A most novel reimagining, I really dig how this build evokes a very 90's character and aesthetic, much like its original set inspiration!

I always love darker shades of green (the Earth Green window frames in this case) set against more muted greens, but I suppose I would end up saying the same for other such contrasting pairings. And yes, I too think the truck is nice complementing addition to the main build!- 817 replies

Why hasn't Johnny Thunder come back?
Digger of Bricks replied to Takanuinuva's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Indeed! I certainly hope the same for City too, as I think it would be redundant for their next Space subtheme to do the spaceport setting a third time. -
Yep, fun little action/adventure themes just like those.
