Unless we should wait for further confirmation that "AL" is indeed this rumored iCreate line, should this topic be moved to the Special LEGO Themes subforum?

If I ran The Lego Group
Digger of Bricks replied to Paul B Technic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I understand that there would likely be a lot of valid arguments against many of these wishes, and some of them have already been touched upon by others here, but if I were to run TLG... I'd make Creator the company's flagship playtheme, primarily by increasing its annual product output, broadening the theme's scope of playset subject matters, and perhaps introducing a second, intermediate subtheme to slot in between the "Three-In-One" and Expert lines. In doing so, Creator can in a way become a haven of sorts for homeless themes and genres, much like the non-licensed Collectable Minifigure line. Reincorporate the singular model, alternate build formula currently utilized by sets within the Creator and Technic themes into a select number of many other preexisting themes' products, which was the norm for many of TLG's product lines up until a few years ago. In other words, a few less figure-centric playsets, and in turn, a few more build-focused "model kit" sets in their place for both in-house and licensed themes alike. Never have the annual number of individual licensed themes outnumber that of original, in-house themes. Likewise, as a result, there would always be maintained an annual two to one ratio of original to licensed Collectable Minifigure Series. With the obvious exception of ones required for licensed themes, ensure that every newly made part is designed for a long lifespan beyond its intended purpose, especially for minifigure accessories/headgear parts. Where ever and whenever possible, try to consolidate any overlapping themes together under a broader, evergreen umbrella theme, whether they be original or licensed lines. In other words, try to model more themes after subtheme structured product lines such as City (when handling in-house themes) and Marvel/DC Super Heroes (when handling licensed themes). When handling currently relevant licensed properties for a new theme or subtheme, ideally, opt for the source material's original or classic iteration as an indirect promotional tie-in to its latest iteration. For instance, as opposed to producing tie-in sets based directly on the 2008 cinematic Speed Racer movie, I would've instead produced sets based upon the classic TV show from which it was inspired from. -

Though we have yet to see Lego even touch upon any of Disney's live-action adaptations/remakes directly (if ever), I still thought this might be of interest to readers of this topic, perhaps as some food for thought: Screen Rant - Disney's Live-Action Mulan Starts Production; First Look Released

This has been attempted twice by Lego in the past, first with Scala (1979-1980 and 1997-2001) and Clikits (2003-2006). With lifespans like that, I'm not sure if TLG considers those predecessors to be moderate successes, especially for themes of that scale. Well, as for this latest iteration of the jewelry line, perhaps AFOLs may gain at least some interesting recolors and/or new small parts from it. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, personally, I'm primarily hoping that this set will architecturally lean more towards Art Deco and less towards Gothic such as seen for 2013's D2C Arkham Asylum; but, as I said eariler, a "Dark Deco" blend of those two styles would strike a perfect balance. -
What was the last movie you watched?
Digger of Bricks replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Finally got around to watching Avengers: Infinity War for the first time last night. Though I've enjoyed many of the previous installments in the MCU, I've never been that crazy about any of them in particular. Infinity War, on the other hand, I found to be pretty darn good, so much so that it stayed with me a bit longer than others movies in the franchise. I don't know, I guess perhaps it may have been that it was simply a darker, more dire story compared to others, as I do somewhat have more of a preference for that in a narrative. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Digger of Bricks replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Something like @Robert8's hypothetical design would be nice to see for such an archetype. -
Hmm, honestly, it sounds like we have our culprit if you ask me.

Is it possible that these nine sets, as many as they may be, perhaps aren't definitive of this line's price range? Maybe what we've heard of so far may only be covering the first wave's polybag sets and lower priced sets?
