  1. This was posted by @Jim over in the Thecnic forum. You can check out the topic it was posted in here.
  2. @Cwetqo posted this on the 2018 Lego Trains topic a little while back. You want information? Here you have some: :) Courtesy of my fellow ambassador Francisco Frangioa from BrianzaLUG, who saw those at fair in Milano, Italy. He also said that connector is NOT compatible with Boost, but EV3.
  3. Cool! Can't wait to see in more detail how it functions, along with what's in store for the app.
  4. That's such a funny line. Very cute.
  5. I have a quick question. Has it been considered to use the rollercoaster system for other purposes such as turning it into a motorized transit system?
  6. Sweet, sweet, sweet! I love x-wings and I love classic space! Awesome model of the two blended together!
  7. Looking forward to the sequel! I'll definitely be onboard if the time permits.
  8. Thanks! The car is slightly adapted from the design from The Big Unofficial Lego Builders Book. I spent an eternity trying to find instructions on how to build the car because for the life of me I couldn't remember how it was built.
  9. Yeah, it's simple but recognizable. The latter being my key intention when I was designing it.
  10. Thought I'd quickly make some roads to show how they can be built. The car design is based off of the one from The Big Unofficial Lego Builders Book, and the scooter/motorcycle is a simple design of my own. The modular sits on top of the plates that protrude from underneath the road as can be seen in the pic below. Here's one section of road which is sixteen studs long. As well as the 9x9 intersection road piece. And finally the car and scooter designs. Cheers LMF
  11. A worthy first place winner indeed! Congratulations to to the winners, and props to all who participated. Thanks @Peppermint_M for hosting!
  12. Saw this on Flickr, fantastic work! Ha! Would
  13. Wow! Hats off, standing ovation, etc to the town block! The last day was a lot of fun to watch.
  14. Here's a little something I've been working on.
  15. @FiliusRucilo, just saw this on Flickr. Absolute masterpiece!
  16. That's really cool! I had the same idea awhile back, but I ended up setting the project aside for other things. I may still have one of the modulars together. I've seen only a handful of models online that use the "midi scale", and they're often not labeled as such. Also since there clearly wasn't a Flickr group for Midi scale MOCs, I decided to start one. It's still needs some editing though. https://www.flickr.com/groups/3186713@N22 Yeah, three wide felt like the best option. It was also the preferred size used in the The Big Unofficial Lego Builders Book . Thanks! I'm hoping this scale will get more attention, and that people will start labeling there Midi scale models as such. And thanks again for posting those links about Micropolis modulars! I'll definitely be making some of my own!
  17. Thank you so much for sharing this! So EV3 huh? That's interesting. Now we'll just have to wait and see what's in store for the rest of the power functions components...
  18. Also, I just remembered the book that got got me interested in the idea of "mini modulars" in the first place. https://www.amazon.com/Big-Unofficial-Lego-Builders-Book/dp/3868526587 I remember picking it up at a library a while back, and although I don't remember if a modular like standard was mentioned, right on the cover of the book he's using three wide sidewalks. Also, he called it "Midi scale". I put "Lego midi city" in the flickr photo search, but didn't come up with much.
  19. Hi @Withacee, thanks for linking all that info! It's not exactly what I had in mind, but I'll definitely bookmark those links for future reference if I ever want to start my own Micropolis!
  20. Hello! I've only visited this topic a few times, but I had a question and I thought this would be the best place to ask. I posted this WIP topic shortly ago regarding mini modulars. I've been wanting to start making my own modulars for awhile now, but I wanted to make mini modulars vs full sized minifig scale modulars. The only thing is that I wanted to know if a formula for what I have in mind already exists. I've looked around a little bit, but haven't come across much. So I decided upon a simple formula that I felt worked best. Basically it's 16x16 and 8x16 bases with a three wide sidewalk and 1x2 Technic bricks with double pinholes as the connectors. I feel this formula will work perfect, but I just want to make sure there isn't a preexisting formula before I start any serious building. Thanks!
  21. So here are some examples of what I had in mind. *snip* *snip* *snip* *snip* Like I stated earlier, I'm not sure if there's a preexisting formula for what I have in mind, but this is what I'd imagine would work best. I don't have any particular styles in mind really. I'll probably start out by experimenting with parts for different sections of a typical modular such as windows, doors, color combinations, etc, and than mix and match those sections to find a good combination that works.
  22. This could potentially be awesome!!! Because what's better than a Lego maglev or a Lego monorail? A Lego maglev monorail of course!
  23. Hello and welcome to my WIP "Midi" Scale Lego Modular City. What is "Midi" Scale?
