  1. I just thought of a way to measure the speed: a Mindstorms dynamometer. That would solve all the problems about measuring speed, but would create a new one: the expense of Mindstorms... (for people that don't have it)
  2. D: all of the above (but mostly A & C). Which would mean a car that goes fairly fast, but also handles well and looks good.
  3. Great work! it's amazing what can be made with help from others. But what is the last photo suppose to be?
  4. Something GBC maybe, like a slow giant scooping mechanism.
  5. NO! Yes, why not! I suggest the rule should be this: maximum 2 drive motors only 1 battery box SBrick and BuWizz only allowed in 3rd class (see below) minimum 15 x 30 stud size (or similar) And classes: purist - only modern parts purist - any Lego parts non-purist - any Lego parts with SBrick or BuWizz What do you think?
  6. But then all the limitations of minifigures - and the creative solutions Lego fans have made - would be lost...
  7. I agree, it would also better than just a competition for maximum speed.
  8. Not me... and also: One solution I thought of is just several sheets of plywood (or similar) laid out in a row, but that would be a bit expensive and hard to get flat...
  9. Oh, I forgot about that. So maybe Red Dwarf will be picked...
  10. I picked the Boat Repair Shop because it isn't like anything Lego has made already, and it also should appeal to lots of people. But I would like the Red Dwarf set (also I have heard rumors of Red Dwarf coming to Dimensions, so it could be picked...)
  11. I see... but I still doubt that Lego would make such a similar color.
  12. I know - I just thought I would (like for people that don't know). You do have a point... people could put a measuring tape in the video (although you probably couldn't see the numbers...), but you will probably just have to rely on honesty .
  13. Glad to hear I helped, the funny thing is that I originally couldn't work out how to mention someone, but one day I thought that it might have something to do with the @ before the username - so I tried it - and I was right!
  14. I have done the obvious thing of making a holder for my stop-motion camera. I'm sure I have used Lego for other things, but I can't think of them at the moment...
  15. A few things are out of scale... But it still looks great!
  16. Time how many seconds it takes to go over a long distance, with either a video camera or stopwatch, and use this formula to work out how fast it is going in kph: S = (1/(T/D))*3.6 S - speed in kph T - time in seconds D - distance in meters
  17. Isn't that the same as regular orange? I don't like these ideas, because they would make minifigures too different - take the Friends mini-dolls for example.
  18. Yes, that would be a great idea! Also, it it was started by a member with a ranking of Knight or higher, they could have a poll of what members have RC cars (or other RC vehicle).
  19. You just have to put @ before the member's username, then a pop-up window will come up with matching members (see below), and you just click on the one you want to mention . Like this: "@digger of bricks" becomes "@Digger of Bricks" after clicking
  20. Well yes, but I think it would be better if they were separated into a different class. For example: Power Functions only RC unit with Buggy motors SBrick with any motors Also, a better rule would be a maximum of 2 drive motors (of any type) - which applies to all classes. timing over a set distance possibly for (my exampled) classes 1 & 3 agreed, but it's better in a separate class
  21. Oh... Well I guess I will just stick with Lego tubes.
  22. Oops, I didn't read your post correctly , you probably should have put Trans-green instead of Trans. green .
  23. Books like The Lego Adventure Book series or Sariel's The Unofficial Lego Technic Builders Guide are great for learning how to get better at building with Lego. And also a good idea is before you start building to imagine what you want the finished model to look like, and then try your best to build it the same.
  24. You could use them for "Lego dirt" for a excavator model, like I use my hundreds of (not broken) black pins for .
