  1. I recently bought 8 Damped Shock Absorbers to use for suspension, but I was wondering what else they could be used for? What have you used them for? And what is the most unusual use you can think of? For anyone in Australia, here is where I got them: Lego Technic Lego Pneumatic Shock Absorbers, and the seller has heaps of them!
  2. Well I wouldn't do it, but making pneumatic into hydraulic was in @Sariel's book...
  3. I don't think it will, Lego has train tracks. Also, if it did return, monorail won't have as much WOW factor .
  4. I have actually needed a part like that before, as well as a 1x2 brick with 2 axle holes (just like the pin hole version).
  5. That's another good way to put it, there is nothing stopping you making models out of 100% original Lego parts, adding non-lego parts can make models much better.
  6. Agreed, one of the projects I have at the moment is making a custom battery box out of an old corroded 9V battery box and a burnt out PF receiver, I'm just having problems fitting a 3s lipo in a 4x8 space.
  7. Nice, I'm glad you made PDF instructions - not LDD or some other type - it makes it much easier to build!
  8. Well, for Lego terms to google, some good ones would be: SNOT (Studs Not On Top) Micro scale building Lego Architecture (a Lego theme with lots of micro scale building)
  9. I agree with a lot of what you said @Splat, I try to be purist but I will sometimes use 3rd party parts if I have to.
  10. Nice use for the X-pods, I have got a few of those but I had never known what to do with them! I will probably build a shorter version of this, because I don't have that many X-pods.
  11. Wow @Attika, those gearboxes are amazingly compact! Great! I will keep an eye out for it, I'm very interested in building the shifting mechanism .
  12. My favorites change all the time, but are normally from the current CMF's But my top favorite is probably Emmet from the Lego movie: He is just so happy!
  13. Yes, but I normally want play with it first (I build technic things). But if it is something that really looks nice, I would display it next to my building table to look at every day .
  14. Looks great, do you think it could be made to go faster? That works out to be only ~2.5kph, it looks a lot faster than it is!
  15. If you really need to modify parts, only use parts that are still in production, because old parts will never be made again. Also before you modify any parts, And a quote from someone, somewhere I can't remember: "think then act, don't act then think" Just one thing about the supposedly painted parts, think of how much paint Lego would use if they painted parts...
  16. They look great! And are almost the same size as the Claas tires. Yes, mine do too!
  17. When I build one I will post it here, but for now, here are some from Rebrickable: http://www.rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-1152/JaapTechnic/gearbox-6-speed-nr/ - JaapTechnic http://www.rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-6824/MrWoo/unusual-and-compact-5r-gearbox/ - MrWoo http://www.rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-4911/Charbel/lego-technic-8-speed-sequential-gearbox/ - Charbel http://www.rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-6829/Charbel/8-speed-sequential-gearbox-v3/ - Charbel http://www.rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5234/BrickbyBrickTechnic/lego-compact-4-speed-paddle-shift-gearbox/ - BrickbybrickTechnic http://www.rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5565/ibessonov/sequential-rc-4-speed-dual-clutch-gearbox-with-pf-servo-motor/ - ibessonov And @Sariel has some, but I will leave them for him to post here .
  18. Yes, it is a personal preference, but I never paint Lego parts!
  19. It might be worth starting one, gearboxes are a popular subject .
  20. For me it is @Madoca 1977, @Sariel, @nico71, and sometimes @Sheepo. You can probably guess that I like technic .
  21. I like this list, it is exactly what I think! Lego parts modification is okay if you use parts that are already damaged in some way.
