  1. Hasn't that been made in trans for a Super Hero set?
  2. I like the idea, but I don't like the restrictions on what motors you can use and the use of SBricks - it seems strange to put restrictions on how you can use parts if it's meant to be a competition. I like @Aventador2004's idea for dividing models into different classes by what type of motors they use for drive. My ideas: only 100% Lego - no SBricks, 3rd party tires, or RC components. size limit - maximum and minimum L, W & H (to be decided) weight limit - maximum and minimum weight (to be decided)
  3. Except for the BuWizz, I have used all of these non-purist solutions in my builds, and I think that it's not that bad to use them. By the way, where do you get your custom pneumatic tubes from?
  4. Yes it does seem to be getting less technicy .
  5. Yes, it's great that Lego made an official one!
  6. What about making sure all the parts of the RC unit are screwed together properly, and that the screws are tight. Also, have you checked if any parts of it are bent slightly?
  7. WOW!!!! I definitely want one now! But does that have upgrades?
  8. That is a good point... One other thing you could try @rkkm, is attaching the spring-loaded steering module that the RC unit was designed to work with (without anything else attached) and see whether it makes it more centered. Also make sure all the parts of the RC unit are screwed together properly, and that the screws are tight.
  9. That makes it even more amazing! Ah yes, the giant Lego ball myth , one of my favorite episodes!
  10. Maybe slightly more, but it could be the camera angle.
  11. I was explaining it to @rkkm not you .
  12. That's a lot of dvds! But you are right about using them for inspiration, I watch a lot of Mythbusters myself (and have every dvd!).
  13. No need for any cleaning! because there is nothing wrong with it! Let me explain how it works: The metal contacts on the position sensor get connected by the metal fingers/pegs on the output gear, and the RC unit only knows what position it's in by what is connected. Therefor the output can move without the RC unit knowing - until it disconnects from one of the contacts - which can be right up to the edge of the contact, creating a misalignment of the output of up to 2-3 degrees. Also after power to the motor is cut, the motor keeps moving a small amount past the center (which is what the RC unit detects) - also creating a misalignment. I can make another video of mine with a longer lever on it if you want , because I know that it isn't perfectly centered (you just can't see it).
  14. WOW!!! How fast was that going! Also, did any parts actually break, or did they just come apart?
  15. Everything! Just google a Lego theme or something you are interested in and look at the images that come up.
  16. Looks nice! I didn't even know you could get all those parts in blue! Agreed, L-motors are much better than M-motors.
  17. Here is a video of my working RC unit's steering output while I am moving the control stick by varying amounts: http://bricksafe.com/files/mocbuild101/mocbuild101/RC Unit Demo.AVI You have to download it to view it, but you shouldn't have any problems because it's in the standard AVI format. Hope that helps .
  18. Yes, the worst being 2 or more 8t gears meshed together.
  19. Yes, an extremely FAST offroader. I haven't got it yet!
  20. Well if the image in the post links to the Brickshelf image, you can see the larger one there.
  21. By what the two videos show, it is working exactly how it should! Although it does sound like the motor itself is dirty (inside the motor's metal case). I had the same problem with my Lego Dirt Crusher RC, and I fixed it by taking the motor apart and cleaning it (along with everything else). After listening to the video again, it actually sounds fine. You will never get it perfectly centered.
  22. Agreed! Also, LAs are easier to use in motorised models, while pneumatics are better for manually controlled models.
  23. I once did some research on the best RC cars available, and the E-Revo came out on top (it is also probably the one I'm going to buy when I get the money). By not expensive - how much do you mean?
  24. Keep an eye out on Bricklink - you might get one cheap.
