  1. Thanks all for a great contest! Congrats to the winners and runners up. I dunno if anyone would be interested, but I plan to release instructions for my entry 'Dart' in a few weeks (not rushing it). Will update in my own topic once done.
  2. I'd go for the first one. The second one breaks the original flow of the design too much imho, first one is more coherent to the overall looks. I gotta say, although I personally would not make this type of body, it has a very 'own' style to it and the detailling is done almost to perfection. Don't need to love it to appreciate it...
  3. I thought it was the other way around: the Sian having the V22 rotor blades and tapered wing panels in a different (=lime) color. V22 was shown on toyfair first, Sian is sent to reviewers first. So either way works...
  4. Oh yes, that really got on my nerves too, to the point that I covered that part of the screen with my hand.... Doesn't change though that the video as a whole is excellent... -Edit- Btw @Sariel do you still plan on releasing a speedbuild video? Not complaining or anything, I appreciate all the hard work that goes into any vid you release (I hope you did catch some good sleep after this one...), but I just love watching speedbuild videos and yours where among the best...
  5. I can't help but smile a little after reading everyone's comments about not liking this, modding that etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging anything, but I know for myself that I will buy it at some point, build it vanilla and after some time take it apart (911GT3RS and Chiron lasted about a year) to build something of my own design. All that lime I feel relieved not having any of the 'pimp this set' stress going on for myself...
  6. That's actually weird for such an iconic car, but it seems you are right... This comes close though:
  7. I've had similar color difference in 3x7 bend liftarms in blue in that small 1st wave pullback offroader. Seems TLG has multiple production lines making the same parts in same color, but using different batches of pellets. Then I guess all same parts from all lines are thrown on 1 pile and sets sorted out from those single piles or something like that. Ah well, I can live with it. Let it stand on a shelf for a month and you won't recognize the color from sun discoloration anyway... If I wanted pure colors I would probably not be in the LEGO hobby but doing Tamiya models with my airbrush...
  8. Woke up this morning and immediately checked YT, was pleasantly surprised to find this video already. Like others said, you were fast indeed. Ah well, sleep is overrated anyways... Looks like TLG got most of the painpoints from previous UCS cars right this time. Maybe not anything revolutionary, but at least suspensions is properly bouncing now and from your comments it seems they fixed the friction problems in the drivetrain also. Oh man, my wallet (read:wife) is gonna kill me...
  9. Looks really good in red, shapes are showing much better than in black version! Although I am a Lego purist by heart I can really appreciate this build
  10. Around the taillights we get the old formula1 style wishbone in lime, at least 4 of them... that's a new color to this piece
  11. That's brilliant. When you do the testdrive I don't think the jerkyness is really problematic, depending on the type of vehicle you want to run this in. It would be acceptable for a small tractorlike vehicle imho, maybe some tank even. It would probably look a bit out of place on a supercar type build though...
  12. Not even such a weird idea, as the 4l bars have appeared earlier as 'glow in the dark white'. Would be a nice 'new' thing, and saves TLG the trouble of making additional electrical stuff...
  13. Well, according to toyfair reports 'vibrant like orange' is exactly what LEGO did with the V22...
  14. I think he meant 10hrs to build, +time to take photo's and +time to do the review write-up. So you're basically saying the same
  15. @SamuelYsc: you might want to recheck your votes in the stage 2 voting topic. I think you made a typo, you voted #9 two times...
  16. Ah yes, there it is... I'd already seen this on RB, and boy... it is a beautiful model!! You really nailed the shapes all around, and it's just as beautiful in all colors shown.
  17. Usually it is better to send a PM to the MOC designer when the MOC is old (a bit arbitrary: old = 1year...?), to check whether they are still active and to ask for instructions. Once you have instructions and you've built the model, you can post that (with some pics ofc) in the old topic. MOCs to a(n older) set (or MOC for that matter) can be posted in the topic for that set/MOC, or if extensive enough to be a near stand-alone can also be posted in a new topic (while giving credit to said set/MOC). It's a thin line and some gray area... You could always ask Admin/Mod when not sure...
  18. 1000 ratio's is quite an achievement, but other than 'because I can' I fail to see the possible applications for it. Nevertheless great engineering and math to figure this out! I am however most impressed by the fact that you can run it all from 1 single L-motor. Is it just built that good, or are you using some lubricant to keep it all going round? I mean, 130+ gears and a bunch of differentials in LEGO should give a lot of resistance...
  19. Go to your vid on Youtube, right-mouse click on it and select 'copy video url' (2nd option from the top, I'm using Chrome browser in Dutch, so I'm not exactly sure about the menu options for other languages or browsers), and just paste in here. It should automatically create an embedded video even while you are still in editing mode.
  20. @letsbuild would it somehow be possible to use these above the front wheels? They are thin and have a little curve in them so your front end would only be off by a little...
  21. Hi Isaac, welcome to Eurobricks! That is a very beautiful car you've built there! Here on Eurobricks it is custom that you post some pictures of your model and write a little description of it as well. It is perfectly fine to use Google translate for that as well, you don't need to be fluent in English. And you can also deeplink your Youtube video, so it is automatically embedded here (I've fixed that for you this time). You can change your own posts by clicking the 'edit' link in the lower right corner. Keep on building and have fun around here!
  22. Yes and No, in no particular order As far as I have experienced, bumping old (MOC-)topics is only allowed if you have something of real importance to add to that topic. Not something like asking for instructions after 5 years... In case of the 'what set do I buy' or 'look at my working place' generic kind of questions/topics it will be allowed because it is created as a generic topic with the specific purpose to not have numerous similar individual topics going about everywhere. No one would frown on these kind of topics being bumped (or should I just say: 'used'). Generic topics can be hard to find sometimes, but pinning every generic topic to the forum header would make no sense, it will fill the 1st page with pinned topics. The Technic index (still) needs a proper revision (it is a slow WIP atm), but in the end you should be able to find these kind of topics over there. @Jim or @Milan please correct me if I'm wrong here. @arieben that is a nice selection of sets, giving you a lot of possibilities to go about (L and XL PF-motors, 3 sizes linear actuators, 3 sizes pneumatic actuators + airpump, 3 sizes of common wheels + thread links, loads of frames, gears, gearracks, turntables, suspension parts, the list goes on). Only thing is: color wise the 3 sets hardly match, so building larger MOCs might leave you buying loose parts in a certain color to beautify it. Still, gotta start somewhere...
  23. The amount of technical/mechanical stuff going on here is indeed mind blowing. I read and watched the entire post, but still only understood half of what is happening (and I do not consider myself a noob on this matter...). The belly shot with the everything-spaghetti going on is making my head spin, I dare not watch that pic again . OK, looks might not be top notch, but still it is recognizable what you wanted to achieve, so good enough. I'm actually surprised you were even able to come up with a reasonably coherent body to cover all mechanics. And it is nice to see some LBG bodywork, not a lot of people use that color. All-in-all: nice job, sir!
