  1. Always use external hosting such as Flickr. For contest but also for other pictures in topics. Size limit is to make sure page can still be loaded by anyone that is visiting the page. Eurobricks does not have enough storage space to host anything itself.
  2. Looking at the angled lines in top view and the way the roof fold down to the sides with that air duct below I'd say the latest incarnation of Ford GT... PM on the way...
  3. What a car... I like it very much! Classy power, It's like a child of a big Bentley and a muscle car (in a positive way...). If it were all black it could even go for a Batmobile. And the fact that it is FWD makes it even more special! I think this makes a worthy tribute to your mother-in-law. That FWD setup would make a drivetrain with single driveshaft and differential possible quite easily, when you place the diff behind the axle. And then AWD would be possible with it as well. Much potential from this build. One small remark: it is 6 cylinders per wheel, split V12 right? Or am I missing something?
  4. I was reading up on this topic, and when I reached the last picture I just caught myself saying 'WOW!' out loud... (must have sounded quite stupid for everyone else in the house...). I get an instant Dodge Viper race spec vibe from the front part (Gran Turismo anyone?), and I think that if you would enter with the car like this it would already score pretty well! So I would strongly encourage you to spend a little time on finishing touches and take those 4 pictures! Would be a waste not to...
  5. Cool, I wasn't aware that ABS could withstand such high temperatures. And the fans should have given me a hint that you already thought about it Keep it up, you're definitely on to something special here
  6. Unusual but very interesting project. Very creative with the custom parts. Just wondering what do you plan to do to prevent heat damage? LEGO is just plastic after all...
  7. Well of course, it's a Didumos build, why did I even doubt that...
  8. Looking good as always Did you test the front suspension setup IRL? I have used similar setups in my builds, but because of the caster the drive axle might sway when steering. It could end up squeezing against those vertical half beams...
  9. This is great! Years back I attended architecture studies at Hogeschool Utrecht, so a visit to the Rietveld Schröder house was almost mandatory, and boy, was I glad I went there! It's a beautiful landmark in architecture, and your rendition is evenly marvelous. And then those details like the chair, the drawing board and that little chain cord on the toilet... Very nice to see this type of build compared to the more baroque styled modulars that are around plenty. I hardly ever build MOCs created by others, and when I do I take them apart rather quick so I can use the pieces to make my own MOCs, but I am seriously tempted to get the pieces for this one and put it on permanent display...
  10. The tyres used in set 42000 (Grand Prix Racer) and 42110 (LR Defender) are equal in diameter and thread pattern to the tyres used in 8880. All the tyres that fit the 15038 rim (6 spokes, 6 pinholes), 44772 rim (6 spokes, 3 pinholes) and 49294 rim (Defender rims) will fit on the 8880 rim almost perfectly (including Unimog tyres and large balloon tyres). And vice versa 8880 tyres will fit those rims almost perfectly. It seems that, on the 8880 rim, the distance between the ridges on the sides where the tyre slots in are a fraction closer to eachother in overall width compared to the newer rims, so when you use them with a motorized model I don't think newer tyres will stay put without additional measures. See example comparison with exact same tyre. The 'cheeks' of the tyre on the 8880 rim are bend inwards a little bit because of the slots in the rims being closer to eachother:
  11. That's a nice in-scale combo, but it's not the kind of marketing you'd want on your TC18 entry, right? 'Car broke down before contest closed'...
  12. Nice trick Edit: I think the combo of rim color and olive green looks pretty good actually, I like it!
  13. Nope, it is not. Dunno, I'm not part of site admin team, but I do know that brands other than LEGO were frowned upon. Maybe things will change if there are no more rip-offs, but it's not my call. And you're right about the brands, I mixed up MK and 'king' and 'queen' brands from L***n holding, my bad. But again, 'nuff said about brands and such, let's keep this topic about the Lambo...
  14. @amorti like I said I wouldn't mind to be proven wrong, let's hope the market is changing for the better. And for the record, I am well aware of other brands making genuine kits, I was referring to the specific group where MK and Lepin belong to, which are still largely playing the copycat game. Still, I'm a purist and will always stick with LEGO bricks, even though there are good kits from other brands. In the end, it's about the pieces for me, every set gets disassembled for MOCcing at some point. And might I add that Eurobricks is dedicated to the brand LEGO, not just 'bricks'. I don't mind that you like other brands, just don't go promoting them in this forum. Mods are not very keen on that...
  15. I think MK/L***n/WhateverGroup would be very capable of trying 'something new', I just don't have hopes on them doing it... And I definately think that MK is riding the hype built up by TLG and Lambo, without a doubt. I just don't think they do it with a design of their own. I would not be surprised to see the MK models appearance change after TLG's official release. And I actually also do not think that there currently is any 'internals' (gearbox, suspension, drivetrain etc.) in that MK 3D mock-up drawing. Nor do I think that anything is in production yet from their end, 'cause they don't know what to produce until after TLG's release... But I definately wouldn't mind to be proven wrong in the end and to see that MK is changing it's ways into a legal competition, it would certainly be an interesting thing to see TLG's response to such an open and direct market attack... Anyway... we're drifting off topic a little here. Let's stick to TLG Lambo model info discussion and speculation...
  16. I haven't seen anything that makes me think MK has created their own model. I think they either got a blueprint of an early TLG study model or they have info about loose parts and panels (including new ones) and filled in the missing gaps themselves with some system greebling. I personally don't believe MK went the legal way all of a sudden with a model this size to start it... just my opinion.
  17. A thought just crossed my mind: what if the 7th of May Lambo reveal is actually the LEGO model... Would be the best hype creation ever for a LEGO set...
  18. Looking at the bits inside the wheel and behind the wheelarch in the shot of the first wheel, I'd guess the second (bit more yellowish) wheel is the LEGO one, but it's a darn close call...
  19. 22. Dart Functions: Front double wishbone independent pushrod suspension Rear double wishbone independent suspension Steering via HoG Rear wheel drive through differential 2-speed gearbox V8 mini engine 2 easily interchangeable roof styles: convertible & hardtop
  20. Here is my final entry material: And a little video:
  21. It would also be a perfect platform for guys like Milan (Grohl) to release their alternate builds. Charge a few bucks for instructions and TLG scores a double... Wouldn't necessarely be a totally bad thing though...
  22. Oh wow, that front suspension... This car shoots upwards in my shortlist for TC18. Looking authentic and great engineering
  23. U could also use LBG or DBG mini panels to mimic some unfinished stainless steel teardrop plates.
