  1. Motorcycles would be an excellent category to cover
  2. I must say that I am having a blast participating in this competition! Thank you!
  3. Now that I have moved to bodywork, progress has slowed. My weakness is definitely shaping, but of course I need to do it to complete the car. The A-pillars took the most time to make because they had to be able to act as the hinge for the doors. I'm almost certainly going to redesign the roof scoop to allow the engine cover to open. That said, the profile looks really good!
  4. having used this exact tires in a couple of models: Skyline, TA car, sumo bot, Formula car, they have become my go-to wheel at this scale because it allows your car to nearly sit on the ground. Often I cannot even pass a piece of paper under it, but it doesn't rub on the ground.
  5. I knew you;d be entering this contest! I can't wait to see more
  6. Day 2 progress! I forgot to post yesterday, so here it is. Today I completely redesigned the rear axle setup and got it all working, then realized I'm supposed to have a V12 in the back, not a V10. Not sure what I'm going to do about that, seeing as making the engine bigger would mean completely redesigning the back of the car again. So far the car's looking really good, and all the features I want to include are working out. I might even be able to shoehorn a small gearbox behind the rear axle.
  7. Please stick to English on this forum. Thanks!
  8. I just noticed you have the same engine design as me! UGH! Seeing as yours was designed first, I guess I'm the one at fault here. but I swear I built mine independently from yours
  9. Day 1 progress: I have the beginnings of a chassis, having completed the front axle and gotten most of the way through the rear axle and engine assembly. I encountered one main problem, which I'm still unsure how to complete. I need to attach the drive from my rear axle to my engine. As this picture illustrates, the engine's input is below the axle's, and the latter moves up and down. This is truly a proper challenge. I'm considering building out the back to allow for a couple of u-joints before turning the output 90 degrees. Anyways, this is tons of fun! I'll see if I have time to work on it tomorrow (I have a college exam).
  10. Hello everyone, I am so excited for this contest, it's right up my alley! I'll be making a McLaren F1 LM, which should be interesting. I have a 1:18th scale model which is only 14 studs wide, so I can use it for an almost 1:1 replica for the lego model. Of course, I've only just started the build process, but here is my wheelbase mock-up inside the restrictions box. I don't think I'll be needing the latter for too long seeing as the car won't be tall enough or long enough to defy the space. I plan to have: fake V10 engine; Rear wheel drive; Opening doors; Realistically opening engine covers; Steering with working steering wheel; Independant suspension on all corners.
  11. I am so excited for this! Before I set to work on the model, can someone please confirm for me that my restrictions box the right dimensions?
  12. Would you like me to try to reverse-engineer it?
  13. I would love to participate in a small-scale contest. The best one suggested so far is a small car challenge: something that uses https://rebrickable.com/parts/44309/tyre-432-x-22-zr/ as a size.
  14. Well, here it is, finally. 1999 Nissan GT-R JGTC I built it in black because that's all I've really got :/ Features opening doors and hood, pull-back motors, and steering with HOG at the rear. The wing was a huge challenge, as was the shaping of the rear. There is a subtle curve to the back bumper. I'm also pretty proud of the tailpipe; the 2lL beam is perfect for it. You may also notice the tail lights are missing: I don't have the dishes I would have put there. Anyways, enjoy the model! It was a fun build. There are (as usual) more pictures on my Flickr.
  15. This has so much potential! I can't wait for the final product!
  16. I've used this technique bore, as recently as two years ago, though I didn't use the oval cam pieces, I used crankshaft parts.
  17. These Porsches are awesome! I guess I really need to get some of those fender pieces.
  18. There doesn't seem to be much hype for this set, but I'm actually really excited to get it. Ducati's motorcycle are great lookers, so I've got hopes for this set.
  19. I'm sorry, but I can't see the pictures...
  20. What about a new platform, this one for Lego builders?
  21. I would like to have a copy of the instructions later down the line, so please add me to the wishlist too: cags0115@gmail.com
  22. Please comment in English. On ne comprend pas tous le francais
