  1. While I always welcome new piece designs I also agree with Pinioncorp (and all these great MOCs) that finding a solution with existing pieces is preferable to hoping for Lego to cater to ones desires. So perhaps some Fire/EMT MOC inspiration is in order because who knows how long you'll be waiting. A number of these are Eurobricks members, included links to the threads they are in. There are a number of threads with great ideas on refreshing/updating/improving and expanding the fire sets, vehicles and equipment. In a town/city its more of this type of stretcher in use with ambulances over that rescue basket (which would be good for the jungle/snow/exploration or the air rescue sets): Here's a good stretcher from Flickr user Ryan Ziegelbauer, lots more available googling 'lego stretcher': Eurobricks Farnheim: Jaws of life can be brick-built as opposed to a new single-use tool mould. Here's a good one from Emilstorm: And another from Lightningtiger: Regarding the windows, modern pumpers like Seagrave Marauder still have have a slight angle to the windshield. Have seen great results bumping from 6-wide to 8-wide using two four wide windscreens. Even the six wide still look fantastic, here's a good one in the same thread from LucasLaughing: So there are lots of creative ways to achieve the look of stuff that lacks an official Lego single-use part.
  2. Easily among the most amazing Lego builds ever. Incredible work you have done. Truly phenomenal.
  3. Was just at toys r us and they had a few of the new sets out, Temple of Resurrection was one of them. Also got to see the volcano lair from the movie series up close for the first time (and Architecture Shanghai is on the shelves a little early as well).
  4. More Futurama appearances images and descriptions from The Infosphere: ""Rebirth" (6ACV01) Fry constructs himself and Leela out of Lego." ""Cold Warriors" (6ACV24) In 1988, Fry uses Lego to build a seat for his guinea pig." Also a picture of the other episode Oky mentioned back on page 3 (Benders Game):
  5. Really unique subject matter and realistic build. The detailed breakdown is a wonderful addition as well. Excellent MOC!
  6. Absolutely incredible. The facade of the building is amazing. So much detail, so many creative techniques. Your innovative SNOT work never ceases to amaze and inspire. Epic MOC!
  7. Agreed, the golden banana is a bit odd. Its thrown randomly in a drawer of the crab restaurant in Ninjago City (what it it supposed to be in that context?) but will probably become more useful as a decorative facade element even if gold is a bit tacky in that usage. And also agree about orange, especially Dark Orange which has become quite a favorite of mine along with the Nougat colors. Nice end of the year list highlighting colors.
  8. Thanks Willworkfortoys. I've been meaning to take a few update photos as I improved the facade a bit more and I've also been meaning to build it in Lego Digital Designer to share so others can build from the file. I'll probably start working on the file here very shortly. Some of the updates have increased the not-in-set parts though but they're still relatively few in numbers that most should be able to manage.
  9. Keeping it Town related, favorite 2017 City set; Pizza Van.
  10. Your woodworking skills are amazing. That was one of the most enjoyable videos I've seen on this forum. Total perfection, gorgeous work!!
  11. Thanks for sharing! 13:50-16:36 is the best part, its "not going to go away". Good choice Lego design team. Can't recall any discussion about that very valid point with the baby in Assembly Sqaure, it seemingly went unnoticed.
  12. That is really accurate for such a small scale and very nice construction methods. Also great choice of multi-role aircraft, so many others usually take the spotlight over the Eagle. Wonderful MOC, great work!
  13. Excellent review. I thought it would be some time before it would be steadily in stock (like the Saturn V) but wound up seeing it after going in to browse the pick a brick wall and almost dropped everything. Must have! Excellent set highlights and great pictures.
  14. What about series 13 Galaxy Trooper? That one was particularly strong as well though rather similar to the Patrol figure with nice colors and dual pistols (blasters?). And does rocket boy costume classify as space?
  15. I have definitely observed the sort of real brick vs digital build comment bias on the forums but Lego Ideas digital submissions for example often reach the coveted 10,000 supporters and have even been selected and produced as real sets. So I agree with others that the presentation, build quality and content have a significant impact and that its not just digital builds being selectively or systemically disregarded because they're not built with real bricks. I can absolutely empathize with all of the reasons you have stated for building digitally. LDD and all the other programs allow people to build with complete freedom and on a massive scale that the majority just don't have the resources for. Don't be discouraged. Many amazing MOCs built with real bricks average several hundreds of views for every one comment. Even if AFOL don't comment doesn't mean your work isn't appreciated and admired.
  16. Reddish brown, brick and sand yellow harmony. Gorgeous and massive MOC. The buildings, figure interaction, layout and atmosphere are all top notch. Theres just endless detail everywhere and its all amazing. Absolutely incredible work!
  17. Fantastic Town vignette. Great use of technic for an ornate clock post. Is that a hairpiece for the birds nest and is the sherlock holmes looking guy inspecting animal droppings? Wonderful build, 2 plates is the perfect height for street to sidewalk.
  18. Finally! This set is really awesome. Not only is it more fun building than it looks but its also really inspirational. I'm really glad Lego Ideas picked this one. At a time when many close-minded bitter men still didn't trust women with driving, working or the right to vote these woman shattered ceilings and made incredible scientific breakthroughs that profoundly changed our world. Love everything about this set. Favorite Ideas set to date.
  19. You make a lot of veracious observations. The main set threads do get significantly more traffic and comments compared to member's own creations which usually only get a handful at best, original creations that far surpass anything Lego would sell (with all due understanding to the intricacies and complexities of making a marketable/profitable set). Could well be that there is a large number of collectors who are only concerned with official products but many an AFOL probably don't have a great deal of time to design and create either. Still, the town forum is one of the best theme sub forums. It is definitely heavily concentrated on Modulars and Winter Village especially the official sets but theres also the unique standalone non-modular structures, realistic vehicle creations (not enough aircraft though you're right) and the always fun large scale layouts no matter how rare these creations seem. Every once in a while theres a new 'how to build trees thread' or MOCs devoted exclusively to stoplights, bus stops and newsstands so I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more of these threads along your ideas, focusing on the less talked about items that would be highly useful for a Town. Building small detail can be much more challenging and fun than building big. Nevertheless, Lego Town will always capture my attention regardless of whats being discussed or built.
  20. Uh oh, fuel to the fire, a flareup, duck and cover! Quick, back to discussing anything but minifigure faces for the love of Christiansen. AFOL can't handle the faces!
  21. We're getting into splitting hairs territory which I like to avoid but while it may not have returned with any new offerings for 2017 it is still available for purchase from Lego. As such with no new offerings or just on its own as a theme and still being sold by Lego it should qualify as an option or clarify as stated that we're only talking about-new-for-2017 themes (which again would be limited to Batman Movie, Ninjago Movie and Boost as the only new themes for 2017, which really narrows down what people can say are their personal best and worst themes) or that any theme new-for-2017 or not that had new products offered for 2017 is an option. So which is it?
  22. But so are Nexo Knights and Brickheadz, and Creator and Ideas are 2003 and 2008 respectively. So it seems many are citing any currently-available-through-Lego theme as the theme's offerings or appeal stands for the year 2017, for example one theme can be great upon introduction but then not have as great offerings or appeal the next year or vise versa. If we only go by themes introduced for 2017 it appears its only Batman Movie, Ninjago Movie and Boost (based on theme introduction dates from wikipedia).
  23. The Scarecrow won the first game, Greatest CMF (with some questionable last minute help) and I believe it was announced at the beginning of this game, Greatest CMF 2, that it would be omitted due to having won the first game. In fact there were a number of CMF that were not included in G-CMF2, there was a picture at the start showing which figures would be competing in total.
  24. Despite the fact that the randomness of pairings can lead to some unfortunate match ups the Elf, Faun, Liberty and Bagpiper have now consistently come out on top. And as with the first game even if one's favorites aren't selected its the journey and adventure of participating that makes this a fun experience. Onward to the final battle!
  25. The contents of your statements are impressively contradicting.
