  1. This is awesome and, yeah, very creepy too. An original Idea like this is seldom to be found. I wonder how many good things are coming out of situations like this... and how many bad things, too
  2. Wow. Just wow. That rainbow wave is just amazing to watch. The surface (where the balls travel) looks like panels (and maybe a 1x2 tile in between) to me?
  3. If most sets are complete that deal went pretty well for you At least judging by your spreadsheet Edit: Dang, I'm having a lucky hand lately, latest find: 5x 9V Straight rail 11x 9V Curved rail 1x 9V Train motor 4x Decorative sides for Train motors 8x Train buffers with magnets 5x Train buffers without magnets 2x Train magnets without holder 2x Train magnets on flat holders 2x Old grey Train baseplates 12x Train wheels in holder (old style with metal axle) 1x 2617 Raised Platform 1x 2642 Raised Platform Ramp 5x Train Doors from Metroliner set (left and right mixed) 2x Train Doors from Set 5590 1x 4181, 1x 4182 Matching set of Red Train doors with white stripe and Train logo 1x Black Boat Weight 9x Train related minifigs 3x Red trolley 2x Brown suitcase 3x 5114 9V Technic motor 2x 9V Battery case (1x grey, 1x black), althought heavily corroded 1x 9V Extension Cable, short Several loose bricks, lots of them printed. I'm a bit ashamed, considering how cheap I got this lot... I'm done sorting, now let's test those precious motors
  4. Very well done silhouette and the red rose gives a nice accent.
  5. This is nice. Loving the chemical canisters, very true to the original. The shelves are great too.
  6. Sorry, signatures deactivated completely on my side Some are just too big and take up too much screen estate, but I'll have look at it through your profile. Well, it seems 2001 was a difficult year for LEGO Train products. The "My Own Train" sets also appeared that year and didn't sell that well. Nevertheless, I do still think that there is a chance for good sales if they would rerelease the Metroliner once more, seeing that more and more AFOLS coming out of their Dark Ages do want those MOT & Metroliner sets. Remember that 2017 is not 2001. Still, I cannot see LEGO doing a 2nd rerelease (not only because of the mediocre sales of the first run). And I also don't have any hopes of seeing another "My Own Train" instance, even if I'd love to buy more seperate cars from LEGO directly instead of bricklinking those. I guess a new train station (or maybe the return of the last iteration) might be feasible.
  7. Hmmm... as the Metroliner has seen already 1 rerelease (as Set No. 10001), I can't see that happening anytime soon. I bet the sales would skyrocket, if LEGO did that, but I'm also inclined to think that they do not want another rerelease of something already done twice. Santa Fe however would be nice, as the first release of those sets happened in my Dark Ages. Also, it would bring down second hand prices a bit. I still suspect LEGO won't be doing any train sets this year. At least no new locos and wagons, maybe some trackside structures as the only remaining train station has gone out of business.
  8. Hehe, thanks a lot for putting the Mariachi in. I do not have that much of the collectibles, but he is one of my favourites. Looking forward to the next 5!
  9. Looks like a hangar for aeroplanes. I bet if @VaderFan2187 shows us the other side, there are sliding doors
  10. Harr harr !!! And so true.... Dammit, guys & gals, this is a hobby. If you want to make a living out of it, then do it. But don't complain if you've invested tons of hours creating instructions no one buys. Or someone has seen and likes your ideas and implements it in his own creations. As long as no one makes a dumpload of money with my ideas, I couldn't care less if someone copies me (not that I would have such great ideas worth copying (and surely, any way of referencing the original creator would be nice)). Copying is the highest form of compliment. And keep in mind that it is the only way evolution is done. You don't get ideas out of thin air, it's always based on some work someone else has done before you. Even the guy that invented the steam trains you are copying right now, even that guy uses wheels someone has invented before, way back in time.
  11. Welcome, but I can't find the rhyme, I think it is not here this time. Maybe next time there is one in, until then we will cheer for the king.
  12. Not if you tell us WHAT you bought 3851 Sunblock Game, twice used, for 2 Euros...2,5 Cents per Piece.
  13. Too many freight terminals and freight cranes in the past, no need for yet another freight station. Anyhow, am I right that the new bus from the 2017 Bus Station set has train doors in Black? Hmmmm... time for a parts order at S@H, then
  14. Oh God, yes, please YES! Seems I'm not the only one having a problem with those poorly made cars. Even the flatcars from older Train sets, like ones from 2126, look better. But I'm afraid we won't see anything new on the Trains front this year, otherwise LEGO would've turned up something in London or the Nürnberg Toy Fair.
  15. I think this is somehow related...
  16. Nice one. My N5 (next five): Banana Suit Guy, Mexican Guitarist (Mariachi?), Spectre, Catman (from Batman Series) and Arielle (from Disney).
  17. Hm, interesting. I'm having that problem too, but only when there are a lot of tabs from all across this forum opened. Funny thing is, a refresh with F5 resolves this issue... well, only until you want to go to the next page. Then it all starts again. By the way: I have observed it over the last days and it really seems to happen in Technic threads only!
  18. @Rob Lee If you are buying 60052, you end up with: 20x curves, 8x straights and 1x each of right and left switch. Why not build a simpler layout with the inventory you have (and maybe some additional cheap curved ones) and expand later on? It's not H0 rails, you can always detach and rebuild with LEGO That switch connection on the bottom will not work out. You should always see to it that all yellow dots do line up neatly, if the dots disappear you're doing it right. The dots mark open endings of your rails. PS: Create a new brick layer beneath your tracks and place 2 EU Tables 150cm x 75cm on it, so you know your boundaries you will have to stick to.
  19. Hello there and nice to see you in the Trains forum 5) Take a look around in the Trains section, there are a lot of nice builds here on EB (also from British locos) 6) I use BlueBrick a lot. Nice application for creating your track layout. 7) There's a dedicated thread here on EB: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/67887-help-with-identifying-partssets/. 8) I've seen modifications done to old 9V motors, so they can pick up power through the rails and distribute it to an IR receiver, from there it goes back to the motor. But this is not a simple mod and you will need some way to either create your own power pickup or modify an older 9V motor (preferably defect, as they are very expensive) - and you would need conductive rails, the older ones from the 9V system. Why not take the battery case for AAA cells and buy some rechargeable batteries?
  20. Very nice idea, but keeping production times in mind, I'd say it is already too late for such a good idea... So sad
  21. Very nice ideas and cool use of parts, especially the lantern and halfway to heaven impressed me.
  22. Wow, astonishing. I don't know if this has been done before (I'm not that into Technics stuff), but even if: this thing is just insane!
  23. Nice to see that I'm not the only 4wide-nut sticking to the older "System". Good conversion, the back in 5-wide is well done.
  24. The skin-aging struggle, like a gem in the Nile, raises inquiries that can come. The effects of skin-aging are so vile, the antiaging complex is not undone. It is not better than using camomille, that stupid caviar creme. So read this fantastic spam poetry while your cells disappear from your skin.
  25. I'm having this problem not on multiple engines, but with the 3rd rail car attached after the leading loco. On every pass, it climbs the rail, go too fast and it derails. Interesting thing, though, I'm having this problem only with the newer PF track. On 9V track this is not an issue... I'm wondering why?
